My recommendations would be to try get into a public squad through alerts, and ask any questions you have. Eventually you'll run into someone nice enough to give good advice.

That or go to a relay and look out for a guide of the Lotus. They are great help

I started a week ago, on PC, and have been blundering around learning my way. At first glance there's a lot to take in, but after a few hours it starts to make sense, and you get an idea of what to look for if you need information. A few beginner threads here and on Reddit are helpful, then look around the Wiki.

To not embarrass myself too much I was soloing missions, but that's quite tough and slow so started playing publicly. Just playing with other people and watching them helps.

I quite like the opacity, it gives a sense of discovery.
