Convergence Orbs not Spawning

I'm not 100% sure if this is the right place for this, but I couldn't find a  "questions" category, so I figured this would have to do. Sometimes I play a survival mission for 10 minutes without even encountering a single convergence orb, even though I have a character with a lens equipped. And not just a single occasion either, it's happened multiple times. I'm kinda bummed because I want to gather some good focus, but not getting a single orb even through 10 minutes have already passed makes that very hard. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something that triggers the convergence orbs or prevents them from spawning?

Having similar problems a month later. 

Im sure its some stupid feature. Maxed frame and guns, all with lens, made sure my primary school was selected (im getting my Zen buff).

I don't get why its such a god damn secret on how these things work. Not a single in-game resource to explain, for example, why it appears I cannot earn focus despite everything looking good.

Discovered my issue. Apparently when  you hit the daily cap, convergence orbs (the focus buff) just stops spawning. Also, WTB Codex with useful info.
