Let's look at Rifle rank 3 Pistol = 5 Rifle Ammo Shotgun/sniper = 10 So... yep If you are playing defense mission, pick 2 ammo boxes for rifle end it should be enought for 30 waves. I use a Grakata and even during a tier 2-3 defense/mobile defense I use around 4-5 boxes, and that's not with careful aim. It only takes 2 seconds to press Q, click on ammo box, and done, you now have full ammo.
