Cross focus- how?

Since i literally cannot find any guide on youtube explaining how cross focus works but only gambling about how to farm brilliant eidolon shards i decided to ask it here- i tried to find ways on my own how to cross focus but cannot find any, i know it requires a brilliant eidolon shard, but what do i do next once i have one? could someone explain it in detail?

You can only open 2 specific passives in every tree to be used in other schools.

To unlock them you need to max said passives (last step is 1kk focus and brilliant eidolon shard) and then  activate them in other focus schools (they appear on the left) 

You need capacity for those passives as well.

I'm assuming you mean "Way Bound" passives that can be used on all schools?

 

On each focus tree, there are hexagonas and circles around abilities. Each school will have 2 hexagon powers, and when you hover the mouse over two of those hexagons, under the name it says "Passive, Way-bound" (*note the schools actually have 3 hexagons, but only 2 will be the way-bound items)

 

After maxing out that ability, you get the option to "unbind" that passive for use in all schools. To unbind, it costs 1 million focus with that school, and 1 brilliant eidolon shard to unbind it.

 

Then, go to another school, and on the left that ability appears. To activate it with that other school, make sure you have enough capacity, then activate it as with any other focus ability.

 

Most of these way-bound passives are specifically operator buffs.
