Orokin Keys VS Relics

So I returned to playing to Warframe after a long hiatus and I used to farm a lot of prime parts doing void missions. After coming back on and finding that Cores were replaced with Endos. Okay that's fine. Junctions? That's okay I already unlocked all the planets anyways.

But when I get to relics in order to farm prime. I thought this was the most confusing implemented system. I honestly think its so bad I'm here typing about it. (Probably gonna get trolled no doubt). I must admit the good part about it is if you got old relics you can still use them to farm vaulted prime. Another good thing is if your relic doesn't drop anything good. You can pick what your party members relic dropped.

But then we get to relics that certain quality like radiant. I can barely keep track with "Lith with some random letter and random number"? Orokin Keys made sense to me since the keys were a mission type with Tier 1 to 3. I assumed that I could use relics like Keys or something. Nope. Completely different. I certainly admitted there are good things that relics have to offer, but I feel its more confusing than it should be.

I used to be just like you. Just keep using the relic system and you'll get the hang of it eventually. It's SO @(*()$ MUCH BETTER than the old key system. The only advantage the old key system had was that it made the Void feel exclusive - and gave me extreme "too good to use syndrome".

Just be careful not to waste any vaulted relics. I did that, and I've "lost" quite a bit of potential plat on that.

Basically the equivalent of turning up for T4 Ext keyshare, and suddenly everyone realises that you have a T1 Ext key.

Put void traces on a relic, and you shift the odds of getting a Prime part. A radiant relic can be compared to a key where the rare drop has been made less rare by making the common and uncommon Prime parts a bit rarer.

I see. I didn't know what void traces were about. Maybe I'll try doing that with my old relics.

Though I got to rant a bit here. Ever since I came back to this community I felt like it got more arrogant and more immature. I joined a clan just so I can do stuff with people. When I asked what Endo was a guy said "If you don't know what that is then your not far into the game". Damnit I was mad of how arrogant this guy is. I'm not far behind I'm just old! How can you be arrogant in a game like this when all your doing is grinding for your stuff? There isn't skill in that only knowledge. Be decent enough to at least share knowledge!

Which I am quite thankful of you for sharing.

I don't think the community is any more or less arrogant than the old days. It's reasonable to assume that not knowing about what Endo is suggests you aren't far in the game only because returning "classic" players is far more uncommon than new players.

I think he could've answered more appropriately though and explained Endo. It's not hard to say "It's like a form of currency used to level up mods, it replaced our old Fusion Cores from back in the day".

Yeah when I heard they were going to kill the void, unlike most people, I wanted to see a more dynamic system which didn't rely on staying in one map for hours grinding.

Ironically we kinda got that but for the price of making relics look and act like a freaking lottery where the prize is a chance to spin a wheel for a random prize.  From my opinion, unless you carefully manipulate the system, primes are harder to farm for than before.  Between finding a specific relic, refining it, then trying to find a group of people looking for the same freaking thing and refined their relics, the chances of skewing the odds to get what you want is still pretty low and I still have PTSD from my failed attempt at trying to get a full set soma prime.

I have not managed to find a complete set of prime parts solely grinding since relics came out. I have had to rely of friends gifting me parts or me outright buying the part for plat to complete sets rather than going through the whole hassle.

Also it just feels like a casino slot wheel and I hate gambling, especially with my time.

I came up with 2 ideas which might alleviate some of this, and wouldn't impact the rarity and value of prime items. One of the simplest things they could do is have prime parts available from the void trader for ducats when he comes to the relay.  He can offer a rotating list of prime parts. That way people can go out and grind for prime parts, still try for that relic drop, and if they don't get it can turn in what they did find for ducats and know eventually they have a chance to buy it from the void trader. I would say make the prime parts available weekly, on the weekend, with a rotation scheme.

Another idea is taking the refining mechanics and openeing it up. Instead of being a cap to refining and keeping the rewards random, after a certain point you can select one item and just solely refine for that item to drop. I should take alot of void traces to get to a high enough drop chance to keep the grind consistent and to attach effort to the process. And then you can either open it in a mission or take it to the void trader to open it for you in exchange for ducats. Once again, people still have the option to use tthe original system and try for a chance to get it early, but for those who want more certainty in their effort or just hate loot RNG there is a path to guarantee the reward you want.

Wow man sorry you got this treatment, most time people are more than happy to explain things in this game. People here tend to be more helpful than most, even now with the uptick of players.  Although alot of times people just get annoyed that people ask complex questions that is better served by looking it up in the wiki. But honestly endo is not something so hard to explain in a chat.
