INight00
A device that is part of the map (i.e. located within a Corpus base or area of interest), is destroyable, not mission relevant, deployable by corpus units but in most cases already in use. It is essentially a corpus shield generator. The device/ machine is about the same size as a tenno with an AW equipped. Large. About the bubble: Spoiler When deployed a bubble grows and continues expanding. It has a similar appearance to a nullifier bubble, but is fainter/ less visible. It's final size is/ can be compared to an 8th of the PoE map. Yes its large, and for good reason. It protects the corpus units and their equipment/ base within, they aren't armoured so this will be quite useful for them. It also stops the cold damage degradation on their shields similar to their heat generators. Should a warframe touch the bubble, nothing happens. Should they attack it with any weapon, nothing happens. However, when the player enters the bubble they will find their shields being sapped at a rate of 2 points per second and energy at .5 per second. Scales with level. The player can still use abilities and use various methods to restore energy. The device having sapped/ during the sapping of warframe shields and energy will multiply the amount taken and share it to all corpus units within the bubble. Shield energy will turn into overshields (can stack with ospreys) for them, while energy will heal (health) the corpus units. As it is multiplied, every 2 points of shields taken from the player/s is +20 to every enemy unit within the bubble, uncapped. So the player can prioritise destroying the device, or leave it on for a bit of a challenge. This draining will not stop unless the device is completely destroyed. Destroying it: Spoiler The device is destroyable... but not so easily, why would the corpus keep such a vital piece of equipment vulnerable? They wouldn't. To get to said device you'll need to hack into the machine first to reveal a few of its weak points. The two (usually one) consoles required to hack into it are placed 50m away from the device. Said weak points are only exposed for 60 seconds before it re-seals itself. Hack again to open. Both rooms containing the device and the console have cameras that trigger alarms and turrets. The weak points are where you can damage it, continuously. No invulnerability periods until the timer is up. The device can not be proc'ed similar to the grineer ships. It also can not be targeted with abilities. Does not have a health bar and so is essentially resistant to a few damage types. It is composed of augmented armour integrated into shields. Radiation/ Corrosive as well as puncture and impact damage are somewhat effective. Its 'health' is also very high... Very. High. Scales with level. Naturally since the device is sapping the player, it can and will self-heal until the player has destroyed it. Upon destruction the bubble will disperse and collapse down as radiation damage, dealing small amounts damage to players and Corpus (no proc) alike over five seconds. After the five seconds all bubble traces vanish, but the corpus units keep the over-shields received. (some or all can be removed by the radiation damage) Incentive: Spoiler Makes a rather spectacular explosion and after effect. Looks good... As well as the effects mitigated by the generator. Maybe the player can benefit from destroying it by gaining an item from it. Perhaps the destroyed power core from within the generator is a crafting component? Core could be powered by a specific energy generating ore... energy? Energy weapons. Corpus may have their own "Hok's Anvil" for weapons. TL:DR: Essentially a Sabotage Mission integrated into an OW Map. Corpus AoE shield generator drains shields and energy of warframes, gives it to all corpus in range as well as heals them. Can make enemy units harder to kill. For fun, or for worse. Shield generator can be destroyed, but it is very tanky. Edited February 24, 2018 by INight00 Ease. Omegarick
This actually sounds pretty interesting. I'm a big fan of shield generators so I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff lol

But yes, that's the idea. Don't think it would work well in normal missions what with all the doors and the maps being under procedural generation. Railgun
Sounds cool. What i wanna know is why the corpus, with the huge tenno threat, don't just invest into building a planet sized nullify bubble.

Not enough grofit for when they ask for Tenno help in Grineer invasions? I know the orokin invested in terra-form-ing technology which the corpus have since settled on. Also, what if the Corpus want to use similar energy for their research. Edited February 24, 2018 by INight00
