Ada_Wong_SG
Just have this come across my mind, since currently it is kind of deafening to put stupidly loud gun sound in weapons that drown out surrounding sounds. That could also prove to be bad for the hearing for players in the long run, A way to make weapons sounds powerful is the echo the shot creates from surrounding environment, Though this would mean the sound mechanic would need working to make it less confusing to players as if their weapon has fired 2 rounds instead of 1 round. The silencing mod would kill the echo sound making it more obvious that the sound isn't being heard very far away, that kind of make it sounds quiet. Also depending on surrounding, indoor, confined space or open field, the echo would be different.
MillbrookWest
It already does that though... it was added quite a while back: You gun sounds loud, just because your gun is right next to you... volume knob for that, or one of the audio settings. Ada_Wong_SG
I think i have the "Reverb" option disabled all this time, that seems to enable echo. The issue is the weapon effect, a Corinth does not echo way more than other weapons, kind of like an universal echo.
