Warframe Power System Is "use Once - Get Effect" Oriented.how About Continuous Ones?

Some of the frames abilities could be changed to channeled constant drain rather than one time cost.

 

Ember fireball could be changed to a constant cone of damage like a flamethrower, such as 5 energy per second.

Frost freeze same idea.

Volt Shock could be more like continuous lightning.

 

Lets you conserve more energy as a few second burst would be enough to kill most grunts rather then overspend on some of these sub par first abilities.

 

Even some ultimates could possibly use this.

Blade storm could be energy per enemy attack. as you hold down the ability key.

Banshee sound quake could be 20 energy per sec as base. So you can keep doing it or stop early as you can currently get royaly screwed if a dot damage ends up on you or lancers are just outside range mow you down due to the unstoppable cast.

This may be good for Novas Molecular prime ability. She would slam the ground and have to hold it. Keeping the targets primed till a team mate kills one. Unable to kill it herself since she has to keep the charge flowing to her victims.

No ultimate should require 2 players to actually make it work. Though it could be something for Antimatter Drop

I support this idea. It would fix quite a number of skills and make them quite delicious like, as already mentioned, Banshee's Soundquake.

Even Silence could be fixed for this, or Nyx' Absorb, or Trinity's healing skills.....There's just so many that can have this system (and others that can stay the same) and make some frames actually nice to handle and won't feel underwhelming.

All those new possibilities are fun. :>

Nova isn't a shoot and leave it power type... Her drop requires you to control it in mid air, and shoot at it for more power, and her prime requires you to shoot enemies for it to take effect...

Actually you can hold the button after making it, in fact this sort of thing could be cool to make it eventually cost 100 energy(max) and double the damage you put INTO the drop. Or something akin to that

I fancy comboing Anti Matter-Drop to a Bullet Attractor though...That'd be cute if the Mag can actually cast Bullet Attractor on the drop given minimal lag...

But that's a different topic, IE: I don't think Anti-matter drop needs to be a kamehameha wave. D:

I've actually been thinking about this for a while. It's an interesting idea.

For those of you who've played the dragon age series, why not also have a system like theirs?

Where certain abilities, rather than using some of your energy, reserve it.

IE you lose a % of your max energy for as long as you keep the ability up.

 

Imagine Banshee's silence as a toggle on/off semi-permanent buff
