How Does The Crit Work In This Game?

I maxed out the crit chance mod and its at 150%. which confuses me because in rpg's and rpgmmo's 100% crit is 100% you cant crit move then that?

It's adding 150% of the weapon in question's base crit chance.

so if it starts out at 5% then it becomes 155% with that mod on it??

Critical chance = (base critical rate) * (1 + mod value)

i think that if it starts out at 5% with 150% mod then it would be 12.5%

^This.  And weapons like the Braton have like a 2.5% base crit chance I think?  So if you add 100%, you're crit chance total is really only 5%.  Very misleading, perhaps they should alter the description.
