Crafting... As A Thing...

Crafting... lets make it a thing in the game to make the game longer, and harder... What if... You could level up your ability to craft things in the foundry. Higher your level the more things you can craft... This crafting level would effect what you can craft (No more silly mastery rank), and maybe even unlock special crafting options like maybe when you craft the weapon you have the option to create your polarizations from the start(that is if the weapon/warframe comes with them, if not like a clan weapon then you don't get that option). Maybe even have crafting more difficult weapons like Gorgon, or Akbolto you gain more exp because they are so difficult. With all that leveling you may also be able to craft a superior version of that weapon.

 

Like lets say your crafting level is 10. A special set of Customization sets will appear in the foundary allowing for a Braton Mk-2 a better version of it, OR instead of a better version a branch of versions. Like Braton Crit, Braton DPS, and Braton ACU. So you can change your braton into one of the three. (you would need a braton and then the resources to do this, no BP purchasing involved)

 

This could be big... for end game content that is. Plus for those who love their weapons, and don't want to have to get abunch of other random junk they don't want to increase mastery rank just so they can get a weapon they want, or if you just want a better version of your weapon in general, and don't want to feel cornered and forced to get some other weapon like the Ogris when you absolutely love your boltor, or Paris, braton, or even your Flux rifle... What If you could branch build a Flux rifle to make it into other versions that are better and more specific to a certain combat type.

 

The branched weapons would have a slight variation in design, but for the most part look identical, and have different stats since its a branched weapon. This would be great if you have a specific combat style, and now you can customize your favorite gear in the right direction to become better.

 

This way when DE does finally add more harder challenging things (which I know they will. Give them time to fix everything. They are not a super company) we will be ready with our fav gear that we really want to use personally against enemies. Also this way all weapons still become viable and are not left behind because the game forces us to get armor ignore weapons like despair.

 

This could also be turned into a Dark Cloud 2 deal. Where once the weapon has reached certain stat requirements, and your crafting level is high enough you can change that weapon(that has been branched several times) into another weapon, that does the same thing just all around better stats. Do to the branches you choose like lets say you wanted to take Braton on an extreme path of DPS... the form that will become available to you once you reach a certain destination in your branching will be a new rifle with high DPS focus(which may or may not be able to be branched, but who knows maybe branch it till it evolves again)

 

If its not obvious... you level up crafting by crafting... meaning pop a squat and start crafting the easiest gear in the game so you can craft better stuff. Yep... Grind, collect resources, and build weapons all day...

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!! Then you complain what about inventory space?

Well I have a remedy to that... as we craft items we usually leave them in the claimed state... what if there is a unused inventory bag we can place weapons, an warframes we have never used before. Kinda like when you get gear in games and they ask if you want to bind them to you. Basically this is the same deal. You have all that gear, but you have never used it, and your simply storing it. The moment its used though it goes into your inventory and takes a space, but instead it sits in limbo inventory because you have never used it, and your not using it...

 

This will remedy the crafting issue letting you craft, claim, and sell over, and over again... This allows you to craft like a manic till your crafting level is high enough to make the good stuff.

Want devs to make game last longer?

Balance of weapons

Balance of frames

Armor /end game tweaks

New mission types.

Balance of weapons

I love braton... and I would love to have a stronger version of it outside of roaming the void all the time... This is a pretty good idea. Also how hard could it be to give players a chance to build their own gear the way they want to. New players could still build all the basic gear like bo staff, cronus, boltor etc... Just newer weapons in game added should be higher level crafting need, plus branching and customization paths to get them with the weapon you have you personally branched and worked on yourself.

 

Its like you love the weapon, you don't want to change to another weapon, and therefore you upgrade it personally in the foundry by branching it out till it can then evolve into a new weapon that fits the category.

 

Most players can't stand using multiple weapons just to get the weapon they want through mastery rank. So give it to them through hardwork and crafting instead.

This sounds like a great idea. I would love for this to be implemented! Hopefully the DEs see this and at the very least consider it. What if, you build all the parts to a weapon such as the barrel, trigger, stock, ect. These items would take less time to build, and less resources each, but each having different resource needs. For example, the barrel to the Bolto could be made of 50 alloy plates and 15 rubedo, and take 1 or 1.5 hours to build. You would use this to piece together the final product. :D

Adds a challenge to the game, and could make it easier or harder to make weapons depending on the circumstances. And the thing about the bolto barrel is just an example, not saying it should take those amounts. The final product could take the longest to build, maybe 5 hours or so? Give or take. I think waiting twelve hours for building a pistol is waaaay too long. :/
