Onslaught and Sortie Combination and Other Ideas in General

So Onslaught and Elite Onslaught were created initially as a way for players to compete with each other in a competition, as well as provide an endless mission more challenging or more pressing than typical content. While somewhat fun, it isn't quite what people wanted as the efficiency barrier prevents the vast majority of parties from being able to even fully experience what Onslaught has to offer, and on top of that the rewards are very lack luster for a challenge mode, and provides absolutely no incentive for going beyond Round 8 beyond being able to screen shot your progress.

Sorties on the other hand provide a mixture of harder than normal content by both elevating levels and providing a randomized handicap or enemy buff, and have better than average rewards (not counting Jellyfish) that make it worth doing daily, but is also limited by only having 3 tiers and a limit to 1 completion reward per day.

Onslaught clearly needs better reward pools and also more incentive to go beyond Round 8 and actually compete with others. The efficiency timer should also be replaced with a course speed comparison timer showing a player how much ahead or behind they are compared to the fastest or most skilled onslaught goers that week. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners per week should get a cosmetic as a reward, either emblems and/or sigils that are of prime accessory quality, and perhaps a ship or dojo decoration. The Index after all has john prodman posters at the 1 hour mark, onslaught should have an incentive to go beyond too.

There are other modes in the game that feel pretty dull too. The randomized missions for kuva, fissures, syndicates, and invasions add flavor and variety to the game, but people are limited in the amount they can do, and the endless modes have no incentives to go beyond a certain number of minutes or waves.

To address these issue and to provide far more fun, challenging, and rewarding missions to the game,my Ideas are these: Sortie Onslaught, kuva onslaught, fissure onslaught, and perhaps syndicate onslaught and invasion onslaught.

Sortie Onslaught

Spoiler

In this mode, we combine the mob spawn rate of onslaught and the randomized levels and mission types of sorties, along with the randomized handicap or enemy buff of sorties.Like in onslaught, you cannot change your loadout between rounds, nor can you use your gear wheel or items. The ability timeout may be set for all rounds, or added into the randomized handicap options.

Unlike onslaught, there will be no efficiency status that prevents you from going to the next level, but will have a score determined by amount of mobs killed and how fast you complete each level and how far you go. enemy levels will ramp up at the same rate as they do in elite onslaught, but will not have a cap. You will have the option to leave after each round like you do in onslaught, and the mission will end and you keep your rewards received so far when everyone runs out of revives.

Mobs will drop their standard loot, and drop more of it the higher level they get. Every 3rd or every 4th round will be a boss fight. there are nearly 30 bosses in game if you include the iedolons and field bosses, so this should be plenty. Sortie like rewards will be given after the completion of each boss round, but only once per day like in current sorties. This means if you reach round 5 and then dip out, you'll get a sortie reward, and if you chose to go back in, you will have to make it to round 6/8 before getting your next sortie reward. On top of that, bosses will have an increased chance of dropping rare loot, and a guaranteed drop of a blueprint or part that they offer on the normal maps.

Those who get the highest scores per week will get an emblem or sigil that's cool looking, and the clans of each tier who get the highest scores get a statue with a date inscribed on it, and it'll be gold, silver, or bronze depending on their place.

Kuva Onslaught

Spoiler

This mode will essentially be a combination of pretty much all aspects of Onslaught, and the randomized kuva missions that are around kuva fortress. Enemy levels and rewards will start at the lowest level single blood drop kuva missions, and ramp up from there at the same pace onslaught ramps up.  mob  loot drop rates will increase with level. Efficiency may need adjusting in this mode, as the multi tasking maybe too hard.

Those who get the highest scores per week will get some kuva themed cosmetic unique to this mode only, and clans of each tier who get the highest scores will get a kuva statue with some sort of ranking and a date inscription on it.

Fissure Onslaught

Spoiler

A combination of Onslaught and Void fissures, meaning randomized mission types too. In this, you can use any relic of any era per round, or each round will be a different era and cycled. Instead of collecting those yellow things, you will get your relics reward after every round, along with benign rewards like relics or whatnot every 2 rounds. Efficiency might be removed from this game mode and instead replaced with harsher scaling, or the inability to revive oneself.

Resource, affinity, credits, etc increase by 25% every few rounds cyclically like they do in some void fissure missions.

Those who get the highest scores per week will get an orokin themed cosmetic unique to this mode only, and clans of each tier who get the highest scores will get an orokin themed statue trophy.

Syndicate Gauntlet

Spoiler

In this mode, take all your available syndicate missions from the 6 competing and allied syndicates and add them into a personal gauntlet mode. Due to the fact that many people have different syndicates with neutral or positive stats, this gauntlet will be solo only. It will add the level scaling and mob spawning of onslaught to each mission type, but will not have the efficiency countdown. Enemies will scale after each round by lets say 15 levels, starting at level 30. Gauntlet mode will be organized in a way where if you have 4 syndicates, none will take dip from when you started, but only provided you actually complete the entire gauntlet, so there is some risk involved. The standing rewards will be doubled, and the chances to get rare syndicate standing thingies is also greatly increased. Any syndicate mission completed in Gauntlet mode cannot be repeated for more standing in regular mode, nor will there be standing rewards of any sort for guantlet rounds you've already run that day, but you can attempt this gauntlet as many times as you like. an example of this is if you completed 2 missions in guantlet and then got knocked out on the 3rd, you could go back in and start from the beginning, but the first 2 missions would not give you standing or standing items you collected on your first pass thru.

Due to the nature of this guantlet, there will be no score board or unique rewards associated with that concept.

 Invasion Gauntlet PVP

Spoiler

The entirety of all invasions, in a gauntlet. This mode will be PVP optional. Due to this, the conclave setup for frames and weapons will be used. Since invasions have sides on some of them, in these rounds, players in a party will have the option to chose a different side than their party members, and if they do, they will have the option to fight against them.

The amount of times you need complete each invasion in guantlet mode may be reduced to 1 in order to qualify for the reward, since this is a pvp mode.
Invasions in gauntlet will otherwise work as they normally do.

enemies may have tenno specters on their team if they aren't filled by actual players. This will make it so soloing will not make it much easier for players to take advantage of the perks of this mode.

Other ideas would be planet based onslaughts or gauntlets, or enemy faction based onslaughts/gauntlets. Or open world map based onslaughts/gauntlets.

I think these would add a tremendous amount of playability to the game, and would be very easy to implement considering everything needed to make them essentially already exists in game.

Let me know what you think.

If Efficiency goes, so do the rewards. This is also ESO bleeding into regular SO.
