AuroraSonicBoom
How would you like it if DE added a possibility for players to transmute skins and stats from two different weapons(of the same type) to create a new one with the visuals of one and the stats of the other? A few other games do this and I've always loved the freedom it gives you to get your gear looking the way your want to. With DE_Scott's statement implying that players are expected to progress through different gear until they realize which ones are viable for end-game or simply use it as mastery fodder, skin transmutation seems to be a feature able to help those of us who not only want to look the way we want to, but also still be as effective as everyone else every time a new 'god-tier' weapon is introduced. On the technical side, Warframe already has a "skins" menu, which allows players to choose from alternate skins for their gear. If there was an item that lets you turn any weapon you have into a skin you could then put on other weapons of the same type, it would basically simulate classical transmutation while even allowing you to take of the skin whenever you feel like it. About the problem of non-matching weapon types: In case of certain weapon types that are only represented once so far(Bows, Glaive/Kestrel or Non-prime/Prime weapons), they could be simply grouped with the weapon type that is closest to their functionality. If their functionality really is unique, they'd have to wait for a weapon with similar or identical properties to be released. So what do you think. Does Warframe need something like skin transmutation, especially considering the fact that DE will not try and balance all weapons for end game usage? KhelG
It is an ok idea for the future, but DE needs to work on adding to what we have now and fixing/reworking things already in the game. We don't need any more 'game altering' things in the game right now.
