orthos for pure damage, kogake for utility and perhaps dual cleavers/zorens for a bit of a mix

I like to say that Flux's range is short enough to be considered a melee weapon.

are all viable enough to not have a forseeable advantage over each other as the all produce the same affect with slight advantages over each other.

For normal attacks, you're pretty much limited to weapons that ignore armor. Of this subset, I'd say Fang Prime and Kogake are the best.

 

For charge attacks, you have a pretty good variety to choose from. IMO, I like the Orthos/Orthos Prime best, since it has a wide range and is the only weapon that can target more than 3 enemies (5 at max).

 

For CC, it would have to be the ragdoll weapons: the Kestrel and Kogake.

I'm pretty satisfied with my Glaive :) Maybe not the best, but the best will be the one that suits you.

None, melee sucks at the current state of the game. Take Dual Zorens for mobility, Kestrel/Kogake to save your &#! when things get hairy close quarters or whatever weapon which has a good  Knockdown area. Orthos good for damage playing in levels  below 50, any level above it sucks hard.

Personal Opinion and preference, the best melee weapon is whatever mods you put on it, otherwise go join the bandwagon and get an Orthos or Orthos Prime and max Charge Swing.

Everyone forgets about the Gram. Gram is the best charge attack weapon, no matter what everyone says. It has a sheitload of armor ignoring damage, and if modded well it can instantly slice through lvl 40-50 enemies.
