Proper Martial Arts Introduction

Kick boxing was brought in quite well and the fighting stance looks beautiful, but I feel other material arts would be downright amazing to bring into the game such as Muay Thai, and Wing-Chun

Muay thai good example-

The attack where he leaps on top of his opponents neck wrapping his legs around and bashing both his elbows into his head could be one of the stealth attacks but being used from behind instead of infront.

Wing Chun Example-

Also I feel it is absolutely silly to block bullets with the block button when using martial arts. What if instead of blocking bullets it puts you in counter mode so when someone tries to melee, you break out in some cool counter strike move.

Also when holding a secondary weapon if you hold down the aim button AND if you had used melee recently you will have your secondary put away and walk in a defensive melee stance slowly based on the martial arts stance melee weapon you are wearing displaying your mastery in your art.

This defensive stances will also show when holding down the block button and will allow you to move at the same time standing in the defensive counter stance, but if your using the aim function, and this defense stance is showing you will not auto counter unless your holding block button.

Also melee moves should change out in a form of modes when using aim, and no aim. If you hold the aim button you will use a different set of melee moves that are a heavier combo. While no aim is a fast paced combo, and your charge attack is a single heavy strike(depending on the martial arts style could be a flurry of strikes)

The attack an enemy on the ground should also look different between each martial art melee weapon, and stance. If you aim at the enemy and use a ground attack on them it will change to a heavy downward attack, if your not aiming it will do a light downward attack, but much faster and will give you time to get away if your being fired upon.

Jumping into the air and coming down while attacking should also change as well. If your doing a falling attack it should look entirely different from using your foot to slam down, to using a fist to slam down, both fist, both feet, etc. (based on martial art style in this matter)

Also if your wearing a martial art melee weapon it should effect flying kicks in appearance if that martial art style does it differently.(and should do more damage because your melee weapon focuses on hand to hand combat, and not focused on a actual weapon.)

I believe the developers have been quoted before as not wanting to directly import any existing fighting styles completely, instead adapting bits and pieces for their purposes.

So, your ideas may be implemented, but I believe you would be better suited providing videos of the best moves or something like that as to inspire the devs instead of requesting the implementation of fighting/motion styles.

A lot of Wing Chun... lol... I would love to see a lot of that in the fighting motions in the future.

As much as I enjoyed Ong Bak, jumping on someone's head and elbowing them isn't muay thai at all. :)

Well as Gregio brought up the Tenno could just make up martial art moves similar as done in the first Ong Bak warrior... Yes I do know it isn't, but it can be mixed in there.

Just because it isn't used in sport it doesn't mean it isn't part of Muay Thai. This applies to virtually all martial arts.

I believe it has a history in actual combat used to kill before it was a sport, but I only heard that part by word of mouth.

i do want to see melee being equip-able, but i don't think that any fighting styles need to be imported

Then lets mix it up... Put several martial arts together and give it a random name as the official Tenno Martial arts. We should get a martial artist that knows several martial arts and can put them together for DE to make an official Tenno martial art.

If I recall the Livestream correctly, the Kogake was around 70% motion capture and then a lot of speeding up and motion fixes manually in their 3D software.
Also, each weapon has their own martial art style, sort of. And I imagine, since DE thinks of the Warframes as characters, each character would as well, Frost having the same lightfooted martial art style as Mag would be a tad ridiculous, thus I think having it tied to the weapons works better, for example, I hardly think you could have one martial art assigned to both the fangs and the fragor.

Warframes are space ninjas, they are masters of gun and melee, and they create their own styles as they go.

I'm sure DE pulls their inspirations and influences from a lot of sources, but in general, the style will probably remain very different from one weapon to the next and they'll have all kinds of sources.

Like I said, you'd be best suggesting a really cool move with nunchuks you saw in a movie/game/whatever, so that DE adds nunchuks with that move set you saw to the game rather than suggesting fighting styles.

Yeah I'd love to see some variety. Like maybe the Furax could be more of a boxer's stance or the ankyros a more fast eastern martial arts style. The kogake could be somewhere in between? Like muay Thai styles.

Could add some variety on how the classes look and move.
