  1. I thought it'd be a thread about the steam wallet thing.

Frozen levels really need a reward (and other random events that might happen), expanding the concept would be great. The bosses that spawn randomly are pretty cool, but every man his taste i guess. My guess is that disabling them won't be an option anytime soon.

  2. Oh ya, this is SO grindy, oh my, GOD have mercy upon the 15 minutes it takes you to do 1 fomorian (5 for a defence run to get the omegas and 10 for the actual fomorian).

And as I said, Archwing needs work on, but the IDEA of it and what they wanted to accomplish was awesome. Some enjoy archwing, some don't, and while the Fomorians could have used a bit of work since I personally was expecting a more epic encounter, everything else was fine.

We know from past events, DE loves to add plot twists to their events, and they can come from anywhere, at any time, which probably means this event most likely will get more interesting pretty soon.

If you just came at the event expecting something else when you knew it was about archwing, and you knew how archwing is played, and that you don't like it, I can't see how you hoped to like the event.

Again, an idea is enough for you? Is it wrong to expect more when/if you've played/heard about the other events? For players who play for rewards this event brought nothing. For players who want to feel engaged in defending the relays this event brought nothing. For players who don't like this filler part of Warframe this event brought nothing. The idea might've been good, but that doesn't mean that the event is any good. I've said nothing about DE not being able to change this, we've all seen this before and I'm hopeful that they'll pull out a rabbit or two. Does this justify putting out an event in this state? No, and it didn't in the past with other events. The problem of the grind is the fact that you run the same missions, over and over. This leads to two things: either you run one mission to get one point (and minimize the grind) or you feel lucky and go for the credits/leaderboards. Good luck getting a team which can run these missions without dc's or deadly lag. Farming (new) resources is not something new, doing 5 minutes of defense is very boring if you've done 500 hours of defense prior. Of course, not all players have this problem.

I hoped this event would get me to love archwing, but it did the exact opposite. I'm always sceptical, but that doesn't mean my mind is set in stone. I really wanted it to succeed, but it just completely missed the mark.

  3. Everybody plays for different reasons, if any of what you say is the case (pure speculation as you've stated) then isn't an event a bit overkill? I know you won't get everybody's opinion on the forums, but the amount of work it takes for DE to make an event wouldn't be worth it (again pure speculation). Too many variables too; do people not play because of the lacking rewards? Because it is archwing (my reason) or something completely else (too busy during the holidays)?

  4. I fail to see the connection, at least from the perspective of what I don't like about this event. Older events (which were also grindy as hell) shares elements of the story? What does that have anything to do with most of the criticism of this event? Just because older events had similar story does that mean that we should accept a step as far backwards as this event? Isn't that just more the reason to criticize something which is a (big) step in the wrong direction?

I'd also like to point out that not all players play for the story or avoid playing if the story had been bad. For me, this event was right for the trash-bin straight away because it was focused on archwing. Just like the change of conflicts from PvE to PvP killed any chance of me ever playing them. Others criticize the lack of rewards/the way points are given in this event and I completely agree with them. Giving maximum points (being 1) after completing one mission kills (almost) every incentive to play more missions (except credits).

Whether you like archwing or not, this event has totally bombed. If story is the only thing you care for, you wouldn't be playing Warframe. One shining light does not hide all the bad, it just highlights it.

  5. More archwing after being put aside since the start of U15 aside from the changes and added gear.

For something that isn't part of the main game (even though it is forced upon players) like conclave (which isn't) it's very obvious that archwing gets a lot of attention. Of course there has been put much more work into archwing than conclave, but that doesn't change the fact that it is filler outside the main game. Just like conclave, it is something I'd rather seen not being added to the game. The main game needs a lot of work still which I find more important than fillers.

  6. Haven't played Ash/Volt/Oberon since forever ago. I've used all other frames more or less, though Ember/Banshee/Nekros/Trinity could be good if some changes were made. I've played some Survival as Nekros, but it feels more like a chore than anything else. Just like Trinity. I absolutely hated Limbo when i started leveling him, but he grew on me. Now, he's probably my second favorite.

  7. Sure, as long as you find a way to keep players who dont want to have anything to do with PvP out of it.

+1 this. PvP is a complete waste of time in my opinion, a change like this would certainly kill my future WF experience for good. Just like what happened with the clan conflicts, this'll never see any playtime from me.

Edit: Granted there are some who want this, and I've always said that as long it doesn't take critical time away from devs and isn't compulsory (exclusive items and the like) then I'm fine with it.

  8. None of the augments for warframes have persuaded me to exchange them with any mod i currently have equipped. If they got their own slot then I'll try them out, but in the meantime they're collecting dust like all the other useless mods. They might be fun to try out, but I'd never use them for the missions I run most of the time.

  9. I never understood the idea of taking weapons of different ranking (marelok being (at least) one of the best secondaries, akbolto is also very good) and bundle them with the other atrocities. The Grammacor was so bad it got a buff almost instantly, but that only pushes the problem onto another weapon with the same issues. It made the difference between the regular Grammacor and the syndicate way too great. Doing the same to the other awful weapons would be completely messed up. The weapons needed to be balanced from the start, then buffs could be added. These weapons are too different in damage and it's ruining syndicates for a lot of people.

Just like a lot of other additions, syndicates were doomed to fail right from the get go and would need an enormous amount of fixing. You can't build a castle on an uneven foundation (at least without smoothing the landscape).

  10. Well, it used to be easy; just focus on stealth and melee. After update, I guess using long range weapons, playing with Nova (or just a full squad) on some long missions. If you have any friends with Vauban or somebody is hosting xp runs in ODD infested defense is pretty good. Corpus defense with a Frost can work as well. If you have good mods focusing on either stealth or radial disarm will make you very useful in any squad.
