  1. I really wanted to bring this up as I really like using sniper rifles. The current buffs that were applied were a good start but snipers still feel outclassed and underpowered. They also don't feel like powerful weapons at all. They feel and sound weak. I think all the sniper rifles should pack a lot of power (with the sound to go with it) balanced out with high recoil. You should also be rewarded for landing consecutive head shots (this would help set it apart from other weapons in the game). Here are a few ideas I thought I should bring up:

    - Thermal Scope to see enemies through walls and objects

    - High recoil balanced out with much higher damage per shot

    - Head shots should always apply critical damage balanced with no critical damage on body shots

    - Damage multiplier for consecutive head shots (similar to Melee 2.0) without a time limit. Resets to normal damage after a missed head shot.

    - Innate Puncture

    - Two head shots scored on one shot, 1.5x critical damage multiplier increase with time limit

    - Three or more head shots scored on one shot, 2.0x critical damage multiplier increase with time limit

    - Time added to limit if multiple head shots scored with one shot if critical damage multiplier increase is currently in effect

I'm wondering if the critical damage multiplier should be higher due to the rarity of landing consecutive head shots with one round but I wanted to have some numbers out there for an example.

  2. I really like a lot of the ideas here. I really want to start using sniper rifles again but they still need a lot of work. I'm not sure if it was brought up before or if I missed it in this thread but how about applying a damage multiplier for consecutive head shots as it is applied in current melee but without a time limit. The multiplier resets when you miss a shot or land only a body shot.

I also agree with HolyBeer that snipers feel really weak. They don't feel powerful. Snipers should have high recoil but balanced out with much higher damage per shot. Here are my thoughts:

Edit: *Added new idea to list.

  3. Hello and sorry for my bad english

My idea is à mod for sniper called singularity shot or something like that

At the opposit of thunderBolt for bow this mod could trigger à Vauban vortex for 2sec

This could add fun to use a sniper and make it more usefull in a non-solom mission and ad an unique propose to group mobs

Tell me what you think of this idea

I really like this idea. I wonder though if at max rank it should be 4 sec or would that make it OP?

  4. if as you say its for late game players why do they give you the quest to get one so early?

My opinion would be that DE doesn't want to lock early players out of content for a long time. It could even be a learning experience form them. They breed a Kubrow and find that they can't maintain it so it dies. It shows them that they aren't ready for a Kubrow yet and will need to progress a little further until they can obtain credits quickly enough to maintain one.

  5. I'm pretty early in the game on my alternate account (MR3 and only up to Saturn unlocked). Have my Kubrow, built a few weapons, have Oberon in the oven, built Valkyr parts, and have enough for the first batch of stabilizers. I also haven't even touched void and dark sectors. It's not hard to gather credits but I also wouldn't be against reducing the costs. If anything, I agree with people who say that Kubrows shouldn't die. The fact that you can apply Forma and Potatoes to them should be more than enough reason for DE to remove the possibility of Kubrows dying and losing all that progress. We have a ship that is more advanced than any of the other faction's ships and an AI that, at this time, only whines at us. Why can't we just have an option on the ship that we can set that if our Kubrow's health hits a certain percentage, Ordis automatically puts it in stasis? This way, the only penalty for staying away for too long is that you have to wait three hours for your Kubrow to thaw out.

  6. I went to Jackal again with a Level 30 Volt, Level 22 Karak, Level 11 Akzani, and Level 9 Orthos and he spawned as level 17.

Volt and Karak Load-out (Forgot to screenshot the Akzani and Orthos but they only had one low level Heated Charge and Pressure Point equipped):

He scaled up 5 - 6 levels with these load-outs:

I have to say it wasn't difficult to beat him but should scaling already start with these load-outs? I remember facing Alad V solo and being able to beat him at his base level but when I changed matchmaking to public two other Tenno joined in and Alad V spawned at level 45 which wasn't fun at all.

I wonder if the best solution is to allow the player to choose to have the bosses scale to the player's level. That way people who want a challenge can have them scale while others only looking to farm quick resources, BP's, or to trigger events can face the bosses at their base level. There should also be an option to have a player choose to only join others or have others join them that are only within a range of their conclave rating to avoid unbeatable boss fights.

  7. Just tried to solo Jackal on my new character. Loki, Braton, Lato, Skana. He was L 23(!!!!!!!!!). At last stage he outright stopped taking damage to either leg and just spammed rockets. Blew through revives and he still owned me right up my @$$. DE #*($%%@ up so many things in this update, expecialy for newbies, it's unbelievable.

I created an alternate account for the reason to go through U14 from a fresh start. I had no problem soloing Jackel with only my Braton with broken Serration and Stormbringer. It was even easier with Grakata, broken Serration, and Stormbringer as I stun locked him the whole time. I would say it took about three and half mags to take him down with my Grakata. I'll have to try it again but I didn't have any real problems. Could it be that scaling is now not only based on conclave but maybe mastery rank as well (I was only at rank 1 and 2 at the time I faced him)? The U14 notes state they improved scaling but they didn't say how. It just stated "improved their scaling for groups of high level Tenno".

    From U14 Notes:

    Boss Balancing Changes:

    • The following bosses have gone through a balancing pass to improve their scaling for groups of high level Tenno, we hope they are a little more challenging!
    • Grustrag 3, Hyena Pack, Vay Hek, Jackal, Alad V and Zanuka, Sargas Ruk, Lephantis, and Captain Vor.
    • Speaking to the Jackal, The Jackal had some additional fixes to reduce the amount of stun locking possible and also allowing him to scale better with level. The health of his legs was changed to a % of his total health, which scales up with level, making it harder to knock him into his stun state. His stun timer was also decreased while the damage required to break him out of stun early was also increased and made as a % of his total health rather than a set value.
  8. (was waiting for someone to post first, but wanted to ask you, OP, a question)

How are you liking Beta so far for Destiny? No spoilers as I'll be playing as the Xbox One, but is it good so far?

I actually haven't started yet. I just starting downloading it. If it's done before U14 is out I'm going to check it out real quick. Just got the code today.

  9. So basically Hysteria 2.0 for Ash?

I was going to say the same thing. I honestly haven't used Ash in a long time as I usually main Loki and Valkyr but I think I should dust him off and see the new Bladestorm.

  10. Dear Tenno,

You may have read something about the business development side of Digital Extremes and it may have you concerned. For legal reasons, we can't disclose specifics but if you know the history of Warframe you'd know that we are intent on having Warframe's design remain in the hands of Digital Extremes. Yes, opportunities will arise for us but the game itself is and will remain a labor of love.

    -Steve

Thank you Steve! There was never any doubt in my mind and this is the announcement I was expecting.
  11. Okay, based on my limited knowledge of what's happening so far (i.e. - reading whatever I could find all day today), two things occur to me:

    1) DE is opening up in California

    www.facebook.com/digitalextremes

    2) The purchase of stock (if it happens) is of available stock. DE has not necessarily released a controlling percentage of stock for purchase, therefore there is no point in panicking at this time.

If one wanted to open a new office, one might consider selling a non-controlling percentage of stock in order to attract investors. That would provide one with more capital and still allow one to run one's company the way one intended to in the first place.

So - please stop panicking. At least until we have more facts.

Spot on. We don't know all the facts and we should wait for an announcement.
