Fair, I think of these points I agree with 3 and still think the old alerts should exist alongside NW. It is sad to be locked out of weeklies and elite weeklies sometmies and not have an easy alternative route to get nightwave points or the things purchasable from the store. I guess the invasion thing is there for those who want to grind rep, seems too time consuming to be worth it imo.
The other points seem more personal and your own philosophy on gaming, not saying they are not valid but considering their personal nature I just could not get behind them as strong reasons for the game to be made easier or changed. Perhaps we are on different paths, I still want an end-game and real challenges, but it seems everything just becomes easier with time instead. I think you gave a nice example yourself, went from 3 lives up to 5 revives now. Also I played most of the game unassisted in the beginning and I quite enjoyed that, learning things as I went along, so very different experiences there for us. Anyway, let's see how the new player experience unfolds over the next few months/years. I do pray it becomes more easier for players to navigate it unassisted and more focus is placed on the story quests and other areas which help newer players understand the core game.

    Fair points.
On end game: The fact that we dont have MR 30 yet means there wont be end game for a while. Only 3 more MR to go, but that's still a long way off.
And DEFINITELY agree with, " I do pray it becomes more easier for players to navigate it unassisted and more focus is placed on the story quests and other areas which help newer players understand the core game. "  The whole post started with the fact that I was startled by how difficult and painful it actually was without focus and a good amp. And with that, the realization of how much we miss or forget from being at top MR and/or having it all. It's going to change my look at forum posts by newbies having issues for sure.

Defection. Old Events. Old lore. The alignment medal.

All forgotten things people wanted to see better of.

It's easy to say that DE hasn't acknowledged them because they need to continue to make content, but this has been *years*. My only thought of why is that they are riding on the 'beta' tag as long as they can.

Do you think it's a possibility that whenever they leave Beta, maybe with New War/ whatever the last quest will be, they will update old content?

They have revisited old content. What about the update to POE? I mean... they're working on an updated engine. Cut em some slack and give them time. They have revisited a LOT.

The best thing that DE has going are devs that play. Devs that play (especially the one that's always on about the shadows) see things in the game and think "Ooo... idea!". And sometimes the revisits take less priority. But they have made mention of revisiting enough that we just need to realize how much ADHD is involved here and that it may take some time before "OOO SHINEY!" gets out  of the way of "Hey... I could revisit that this way".

So I do feel what veterans are crying about content drought.

Rail Jack is coming... content drought?
Let's see, things that are planned before the end of the year and things that we've had this year
    Ropalolyst
    Gauss with new mission types
    Plaguestar
    Wukong  rework
    Wokong Prime
    Rail Jack
    Altas Prime

    And a couple other missions.

It cant all be new missions. There HAS to be frames, weapons and other MR nabbers. How else we getting to MR30? Im over halfway to 28 and have 1 login weapon to get to have it all. If you're that bored, get a friend to play and do all of the content over with your friend. I would even suggest(dunno if DE approves of it so just an idea) of making another account and starting over. When we have all of the best it gets too easy and we get bored. Starting over gives you a new perspective of how good we have it(only if that's ok with DE- I dont recall anything in the policies about having a second account but that doesnt mean there isnt) Double up on a frame and build the second one with something edgy that no ine is doing. Double up on a weapon that you've wanted to try something else with but cant because it will mess up your meta build.

At some point, the devs arent responsible for your entertainment any more. There is only so many devs you can hire before it's not cost efficient. You are responsible for your entertainment. If you're done leveling everything and done with everything there is to do in the game including rivens for all of the weapons you use, Maybe you need to play an additional game. Beating your head against the keyboard because there's nothing for you to do doesnt help your attitude toward the game.

I think DE does better than most with content. Im not going to say 'best' because I dont play enough other games to make that statement. But I've played most of the biggies and DE is better than them about good content vs just throwing something out there. I want good, not rushed. I've watched games die over bad content. No clue how DDO is still running. It's had so much garbage that I'll never go back. Dont wanna see that happen here.

  4. Well, you're wrong.
The nerf was so that frames cant dip together IE- Hydroid+Nekros+Pilfer dome=3 guaranteed shots.
Now it's I take a shot then you take a shot then he takes a shot. I have been in kuva farms where 3 batteries and 2 air pods pop from one creature. but more often, all three fail.
Instead of all 3 getting the guarantee, on top of each other, it's more like I get a shot, then you get a shot and maybe the other guy gets a shot.

There is still a chance that everyone will pop something, just not the same thing and not at the same time. I dont feel like this is making sense but suffice it to say, you're wrong.

How old is your son ? Are they the recommended 17+ mature age the game suggests, cos based on what I read, it sounds like they might not be 🤔

Anyway, "Extreme frustration in having to die repeatedly(NO gamer enjoys that)" - I mean, depends on the game first of all. Some games are designed around dying and learning from fights/boss fights. In other games, this continuous death can mean you are not ready for this part of the game, so go do some other content and power up. And when you think you are ready, come back and try again.

Sounds like you are trying to rush your boy through the star chart for some reason, that's great for you guys, but ask yourself why? So they can do Arbitrations seems a weak reason, considering that's not really aimed at newer players. No real benefit in rushing through a proposed easier game to come to Arbitrations and have no sufficient gear to go the distance there as you were carried through everything beforehand and the solo quests were made super easy.

The game is not difficult, it needs to be more difficult lol. Sure some guidance could be added to suggest what to do to power up your operator and amp, I 100% agree with that. Introducing a way to build an amp which does not involve using your weak amp against a boss you barely tickle with it is so necessary. The Eidolon loop of use mote amp vs teralyst so you can make a better amp to kill the same boss faster needs a step before it, a way to gear up for your first Eidolon fight which does not involve battling with the Eidolons. Not sure if and how that could happen, but this is clearly a not-great part of the game for players with only a mote amp and nobody to carry them through.

    1. He doesnt play if Im not playing.
    2. Sometimes Im doing things that even carrying him wont work.
    3. Opening the Map allows him to do all of the NW missions. (he has had a few where if the node is locked, it wony let you run the mission)
    4. Sometimes I have to do things he cant go on. He generally sticks to lower level stuff but knew that was excal(he started with excal) and wanted the upgraded version. so he did the quest while I was doing something else.
    5. He and I both learn games better with the sink or swim policy. I was MR5ish and pulled into an endless with clannies to NPC lv 300. This was when there were 3 deaths per day. Dragging him thru this is much easier on him than it was on me.
    6. To be clear, with as stubborn as he is, Im less worried about him than I am about retaining new players. He gets over it and moves on  to the next challenge whereas I can see a lot of players giving up on the game. I dont want this to happen. I want to see MR 30 and the start of end game where the real challenges should begin,

I think it's better to bring your son hunting vomvalyst (vom-vom) and take it slowly instead of taking him all over the place

LOL- Son's pretty independent. He was off on his own for that. The screaming at the computer was what brought me in to see what he was up to. Even before he had the ability to trasnfer thru the frame, some friends and I took him thru tri eidolons so he could get night wave. He also needed Grocdrul and iradite for his launcher so we had him stay in relatively safe areas to farm those while we did the hunt. And yes, I kept hearing "this is boring" the whole time. LOL - But when he finally got the tenno suit, he was greatful for the help. 😃 I just wasnt expecting him to go off on the Umbra quest so soon. And he was stubborn. He noticed after he died and came back that Umbra maintained his damage so he pushed thru, but was very frustrated by it.

  7. When I came back to the game, I was pretty well established. Most frames, all the important weapons, decent Amps. So doing Umbra wasn't an issue for me. Then I set up an account for my son and helped him thru a lot.

The situation: Trying to get the map opened for Arbitration and having to finsih all of the quests to be able to do the Flydolon. MR10, the Apostasy Prologue opens up. Mote Amp is 7, doesnt have focus yet buit does have a well set up Loki, Ignis Wraith and Sonicor(no kitguns yet). Me with being ahead of the curve when I did it, didnt realize the extreme difficulty of doing it in his position.

So he goes fail fail fail. Extreme frustration in having to die repeatedly(NO gamer enjoys that) in order to defeat Umbra with his gear. He did it but was ready to quit. I had to reassure him that nothing else in the game was this difficult.

So after relating all of this, Im looking at the very real possibility that we've lost players due to this frustration. My suggestion is that there be either a quest to get a real amp or adding a requirement that you make and lv an amp to 30 before you can do it. This gives the player the information that the Mote is too weak and that you need some focus established before you will be able to compete against Umbra. It also might end the players having to be carried in Eidolon farms because they dont have anything that will work against the eidolons with any success.

Just a thought and Idea. What say you?

  8. For the longest time I have been saying that if Linux ever comes up with an OS that can play all of my games, I would never use Windows again. So my question is, Does warframe run in a stable manner in Regata OS?

Wooo, touchy subject I know, but in light of the recent update and looking at the store, aura forma bundle and eidolon lenses, doesn't seem that big of a deal? However these are extremely rare drops in the game, because people were complaining DE decided to appease the wallet warriors, we already have boosters in game, and I understand the argument of P2W in a PVE game not being relevant however there are people that dedicate time and effort into farming these things, for DE to just pop them on the store and says "Hey guys, give us money and we will give you these rare drops", is quite a bit disheartening, not because I don't want this available to other people, I just don't want to see a habit of DE meeting complaints with "Oh lets just throw it on the store", whats next? Umbra forma?

Never has, never will and isnt any pay to win in WF. People pay money to support the game, buy things they dont want to grind for or to get fashion items. There is nothing.... NOTHING in this game that cant be had for free that is required to play the game. Not, frames, not weapons and not locations. It may be P2FF (Pay to fast forward) But it's all there toi be had if you grind for it. Elderscrolls, Eve, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Everquest (games I have played) ALL Have content you cant access without paying. Warframe does not.

  10. From what I gather, you're not new to warframe so you know what the point is. We have 3 more MR to get to before BETA is over. So the thing to do is to get your MR up. Doesnt matter if you care about the frame or not. MR after 16 may not lock anything but it does open up rep, trace and trade maxes. Makes things go faster. This isnt WoW or any other game where new content just adds to the finished game. Warframe's additional content is moving toward the completion of the game. Whether or not you see that is irrelevant.

You're aware this is telling you to do what the folks you're arguing with told you to do right? Call me crazy but "-" is a pretty universal exclude.

Had you read everything I said, you would realize I tried it. Universal? Well I gguess it's not so universal when it doesnt work on WF. The solution had nothing to do with any of the suggestion(trolls) that were made. The solution was [ff. No quotes, nothing that was suggested(trolled). Why did I say trolled? Because they were throwing out things they hadnt tried because if they had, like I did, they would have known it didnt work and wouldnt have said it.

STILL LOOKING FOR A LIST OF FILTER COMMANDS DE

  12. 3 hours ago, JackHargreav said:

Let's see. Maybe put a "-" infront of the thing you're filtering like -riven. It works in trade chat it might work in region too.

Oh lets see... Look" and "{Look]" Doesnt work.

Maybe you guys should TRY these suggestions before making them.
The hell with the filter. Give them their own chat. That way if I want to see it, I can go to the chat instead of having to play with the filter 50 ways that dont work.
If you dont have anything that you've tried... dont suggest it. All you're doing is trolling and speaking to see your name in the chat and get your post count up. That's Trolling.

  13. The chat is overfilled with LOOK. I realize it's new but with as often as songs are still a thing, I can see it turning region into a fashion show. Can we get a Fashion chat channel or maybe limit the LOOK to PMs? It's really annoying to try and get info when everyone is showing off their fashion and their mods.

OH! And while Im whining on this topic, how about a Riven sales channel. Really difficult to see anything but rivens screaming by when you just need one pc of Nekros.

  14. The fun. 6 years and still having a good time with the game. Whenever I get bent at Dev actions, I take a break, but then Im back to see how it worked out and generally pleased(except huge nerfs coughEmberNyxMirageEtccough) I dont know what the precise thing is that makes it fun. I do know this is the only shooter style game I even enjoyed. I do know this game has kept my interest the second most amount of time(and closing in on first quickly) I have ever spent at one game. And to try and pin it down to one thing? If I HAVE to, I would throw out that the devs play what they build and build for what's fun to them. And the perfectionism they show in the streams like with Scott - "look at those shadows" - speaks volumes more than anything you have listed. It says that, with as corny as this sound, this is a labor of love to the dev team. I get so tired of devs who are just there for the paycheck. I watched that attitude destroy Dungeons and Dragons Online. I've watched WoW go from a good game to a massive stretch limo with everything rusting off of it leaving you with the feeling that, yes it's junk, but it's a limo! Still junk. And Warframe is far superior in 90% of the aspects that make a good game than anything else I see out there.

If you're talking about Max Status Condition Overload stuff then I don't have that. If I'm really just not building right I'll accept that but that really just proves my ultimate point that these guys should not be this sponge-y. There are people who are worse off than me who can handle the other squads on the same levels and even if you or I could find a way to shred Loka Death Squads they may not have that option. What is your solution for them? I'm sorry if I sound snippy but me and my friends went through the same S#&$ when the Wolf was ruining our day as pre-Second Dream newbies and every solution we were given amounted to "use weapons/mods and/or frames that you don't have and can't get yet" and I don't like being back in that emotional place.

    EDIT

Wiki says Blast and Corrosive which I've tried against them. I've diversified my elements as best I can and still hit sponge.

I just have blast/corrosive on ignis wraith. If you're in a clan and have the MR, you can get one. Multishot and damage should round out your mods and give you more damage. I generally use Critmoon with radiation now but used to use a sonicor with blast and impact. Dont use status chance mods. 60% status chance on a weapon that has 0 status is 0 status chance. All you're tryiung to do with the sonicor is to keep em on the ground so they cant hurt you. Tactics, tactics tactics. Hide behind things, dance around like a chimp with thorns in his feet, switch weapons, whatever. You have a brain vs AI. figuring it out may take time but that's why we provide information. To help you think of what you can do to defeat them. You dont have to use the same setup some one else does to get the job done. I've killed the Wolf of Saturn six with my tenno while carrying all 4 dragon keys with just my amp. Not every situation is going to present itself is going to be perfect. But it is my VERY stong advice to NEVER be leveling everything at the same time. ALWAYS have one good weapon on. ALWAYS.

And what do you suggest to players don't have access to all of that? Because that's the crux of it. Not everyone has your power at their disposal and they're still forced to deal with these jerks on missions like Defense. If they're a proper enemy but even Sortie enemies aren't, then they shouldn't be harassing people who aren't even ready for Sorties in huge mobs. Please, I'm BEGGING you here, have sympathy for those less grizzled than you.

I suggest they get some tactics. Im helping my son with his account and he has nothing. Hide behind objects, move around so they cant hit you, switch mods around, dont always be leveling everything. You have a human brain which can out think any AI in gaming. Stop making excuses and figure it out. Watch some videos,  dont mod everything with the same status, I really dont care what you do. But rebuffing everything people are telling you is whining to whine. Hit the wiki and figure out how to get the mods/weapons/frames you need by seeing where they are located or buy/farm some plat and buy em from another player. It really doesnt matter.

SIDE RANT- A few months ago when I was MR16 I got told my opinion didnt matter and that I didnt know what I was talking about because I was only MR16. Now Im MR27 and Im being told I dont understand the plight of the little guy. Im getting to the point where Im just going to start replying... You have a human brain vs a gaming AI. Figure it out.

    Warframe Community In A Nutshell....

They absolutely will grab you regardless of what you do so long as you are within Range.... These hook and reel enemies DO NOT MISS....

The only time they won't reel you in is if you're rolling or Casting an ability or performing some action that locks you into a hard animation like Calling Down your archgun.... mind you all that does is stop them from reeling you in.... theuy definitely target you without missing. The full effect is merely negated....

Further more..... they can Chain Knock You Down if the Timing is right.... its rare but it can happen....

Looking at this whole post im reminded of the same argument against The Wolf Of Saturn Six.... its easy if you have X gear and Y Frames....

Il just repeat the same reply that ws given before....

Its unlikely players are going to use the optimal load out for taking down the Ancients.... for example....

Even though its likely many people would be using The ignis its unlikely they would have blast on it....

    Why ?

Well Blast Damage is not only not as useful as other damage types.... its actually a hindrance when players try to kill enemies only for them to fall flat on their Faces making it hard to target their heads....

This alone kinda causes your whole approach to fall apart since if you don't have Blast then you can't knock over the enemies.... meaning its unlikely you'l get a decent chance to set up the Zenistar or hose them down with the catch moon as Quickly...

As for me personally.... I've always been able to deal with them quickly... that Ancient Heal Spectre Blueprint is worth the hastle.... But even I will admit they are pretty spongey. All it takes as getting caught using the wrong damage type for it to be an issue....

I was farming corrupted mods with 3 newbies (under MR8) on my Limbo with all four keys and defeated the wolf with my Tenno and amp because none of them could stand up to Wolf. Because I knew they would be destroyed, I told them to just keep looking for the vault. Took almost 30 min but I did it. IDGAF what you use, you CAN beat anything with next to nothing. If you're standing there with a sniper rifle, you're gonna die. If you keep bouncing around and use your secondary, you stand a better chance. The point is, It's an AI. No AI in any game can outsmart a human brain. And giving some one more information that they can apply what they have to the situation, is a GOOD thing. I really dont appreciate your attitude of "It's easy for elites when they have everything."  I was following behind elites at MR6 with lv 300 NPCs and freaking out because I already had 2 deaths when it was three deaths per day. I dont deserve this lame of a comeback considering that we now have (with arcanes) 6 deaths per MISSION and the NPCs being easier than they were back then. Just take the information and expand it to suit you. Otherwise, go whine somewhere else.

Wow... didnt see that coming. Symbiosis. You contribute, you take... sharing. Think about it. How happy is the clan if all you do is take from it?  Even if your giving is just helping people, it's a contribution. While I dont directly see the contributions, I hear about them. This guy invites that guy and helps that guy get up to snuff. The other guy learns that the dojo decorator needs gallium or some other such and provides it, Yet another guy sets up YouTube tutorials or links for the betterment of the whole clan.

There is always SOME thing you can contribute. Even if that's just being the 4th guy needed at a moments notice.
