What’s the point when the missions never change

Exterminate = kill enemies to finish mission, the 3 starter warframes are just enough to do this.

Capture = kill specific enemy to finish mission, the 3 starter warframes are just enough to do this.

Rescue = move fast, solve mini challenge to finish mission, killing enemies are optional, just Loki is enough.

Defend = kill waves of enemies to get to next wave, the 3 starter warframes are just enough to do this.

Survival = kill enemies to stay alive, just Loki is enough, enemies can't kill you if you stay invisible.

Disruption = kill enemies to get loot, just Loki is enough actually, infinite survivabily, fast movement.

Defection = kill enemies to keep VIPs safe, just Saryn is enough.

Excavation = kill enemies to keep the drill running, Limbo is best for this.

Only 1 mission which does not require you to kill, and it's Spy. just use Loki and move fast.

Now try to apply your exact same question to the so many warframes, weapons, gears, and other stuff if the missions are basically "to kill", "to move fast", and "to survive"

    1. Improve Kahl and the brothers' health, defense, and movement speed by buffing these stats. There's this Cetus dude who keeps stirring this 'thing in his stock pot endlessly and tirelessly every day and every night. Make what he does useful.
    2. Improve Kahl and the brothers' damage output and armor rating. Perhaps the relaxing Corpus guy with his Stahlta and the on-guard Grineer Ballista lady and the Butcher guy who does nothing but keep watching his missile can help with this.
    3. Make Kahl able to use weapons other than Grakata and Slaytra. The Tenno has plenty of them. Probably worth lending Kahl some weapons for use, like the Twin Grakatas! :clem:

    Am i getting you correctly?

I don't think that person refers to the same "Combat Discipline" as yours.

    On to the topic:

I think abilities that relies on "getting damaged" thing is unreliable and such a hassle to use. At past, Vex Armor's max buff value can be easily achieved by inflicting self-damage to itself. But now self-damage is gone. Why not change it to "hold to charge" mechanic, or, change it to instant ability cast that drains energy overtime? Relying on "getting damaged" to get abilities to its max potential is just doesn't feel right at this matter.

Yeah, you could as well try actually using Limbo before posting, because what you're saying is not true. Otherwise Scarlet Spear participants would contain way less Limbos among them.

Well, I did. actually me and my clanmates did. and we know it doesn't work on OpLinks as well. You say this because you don't notice. Try to do one more experiment yourself and let's see if you can still throw this same statement to me. also, do it solo with Limbo.

  4. If what you mean by "protecting excavator" is Cataclysm taking it to the rift, then, unfortunately, any defense objectives(such as pods, consoles, excavators) are not affected by Limbo's rift. So yeah, it won't work. if I remember correctly DE "fixed" that a long time ago.

I haven't actually managed to get myself killed as a result of staggering myself. That surprises and slightly disappoints me - it was what I'd expected. In a high level mission and in the thick of a fight, I'd expect the self-knockdown to be potentially lethal. To me, that'd be a kind of automatic level scaling.

How do you manage to repeatedly get staggered, though? You can't shoot while staggered. = .

After I did some more testing, It actually only takes 1 blast from aoe weapons to cause a complete knockdown. But the thing is this only happens to clients in an online session. Solo players or players hosting online session won't experience this problem.

Take an Ogris/Staticor/any other weaopons with decent aoe damage, measure a shooting distance, shoot, then notice the effect it caused. The closer the distance, the higher the chance for a complete knockdown instead of stagger-effect.

it's a one time Account item

but then another problem will rise if the opticor vandal bp is available. As I said in my response earlier, Opticor Vandal is obtainable only from recurring event which is Thermia Fractures. I'm sure people play that event because they want that weapon other than gathering diluted thermias for the Exploiter fight. If it is available as a blueprint in Simaris' offering, players would trivialize the event. You know, stubba and quartakk, they are also not available in Simaris' offering. What I mean is that, these things give meaning for players to do those recurring events. So, in order to get these weapons you have to do those specific event missions.

  7. The only reason I can think of why there is no Opticor Vandal blueprint anywhere is because it is obtainable from recurring event, which is Thermia Fractures. Based on my observation, Shedu blueprint is there because it's a reward from a quest. Other blueprints available there, such as Harrow blueprint, Chroma blueprint, and Gara blueprint, are all obtainable from quests, meanwhile Opticor Vandal is obtainable only from Thermia Fracture event.

  8. Yeah you need to insert delay before every action. I can picture the flow like this:

    begin

press_key 1 (emulate the "key press" for button 1 to cast 1st ability)

set_delay 100ms (insert a small delay according to how long the animation runs before executing the next order)

press_key 3 (emulate the "key press" for button 3 to cast 3rd ability)

    end

But the risk is yours to implement this. I only illustrate how the logic would work based on normal gameplay actions.

  9. Actually, this self-stagger mechanic is a much, much worse punishment than self-damage. When you get staggered by the blast from your own weapon, stagger effect prevents you from doing anything and your vulnerability is increasing like 500% more. Additionally, repeatedly receiving stagger effect will cause knockdown effect, and the worse from it is that it also prevents you from doing anything as well. Moreover, the delay between knockdown animation and knockdown recovery is around 1 second or more because of the recent change to how knockdown recovery works. That tiny vulnerability state in a fast-paced shooter is enough to get you killed, especially when you are surrounded by mobs.

Looking from the surface, self-stagger mechanic is better than self-damage because you won't experience instant death anymore. But if you analyze the effect of this self-stagger mechanic, like I did above. Self-stagger is actually worsen player's experience in playing the game. Self-damage can harm and kill players when they carelessly shoot their explosive weapons and it should be like that. imo that should be the appropriate punishment that should be given to such players. You pop an Ogris in the face, got blasted, then die.

    Also...

AMP GOT #*!%ED UP BY THIS SELF-STAGGER S#&$ AS WELL

by afk = extract, we would be forcing leeches out early, and keeping genuine players safe

Yes. I get what you mean and I think it's a good idea in your case. but how would it solve the problem about players being intentionally AFK in the game and not contributing anything to the team?

Forced extraction can be applied to a player who is in AFK state until the extraction mark(5 waves, 10 waves, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc), right? But leechers will easly trick the AFK flag by cancelling it in the moment the mission is about to end and get all the loot and exp without any effort.

  11. If you compare base damage and aoe only, sure, dissic wins. But, if you compare other stats like critical chance, critical damage, energy per shot, fire rate, damage per second, and weapon usability; shraksun gives better overall performance that dissic.

  12. How about AFK = option for vote-kick. This is because if you play with a friend and that said friend needs to do stuff until past the AFK timer you can give confirmation that it's fine to stay.

Also, I think this method will be useful in public match as well since the vote-kick option will only shows up when a player has triggered the AFK flag. That way you can review whether said player is intentionally AFK or not. Probably an effective way to reduce "leecher" in this game.

    Edit:

I think I missed the point from the OP. My bad.

I agree with the suggestion OP offered. No input in extraction options = forced extraction. Sounds like a good idea for OP's case. But then how about the players AFK in other missions which have no "Battle or Extract" option? My response above relates to missions in general, not just about defense mission.

  13. I think Akarius is good for handling the vombas. The damage is great, it has aoe damage, and it's a mini homing missile. Vombas move fast so the homing feature of Akarius can be a big help if  you don't feel like to aim.

  14. At present we have no way to handle the stagger effect from operator amps. I want to use Primed Sure Footed on my operator, but sadly it's impossible.

Operator is barely used outside eidolon hunts and the changes to self-damage behavior cause huge losses in terms of weapons efficiency and usability since stagger effect can slow down the gameplay. Many people told me to use Volt's shield so I won't be affected by the self-damage but amp usage should not be tied to a specific gear or abilities like that.

Please add a way to overcome the self-damage stagger from operator weapons, or remove it completely until there is a way to overcome it.

She is only in her composite form when in Relais, Cetus, Fortuna or Orpite

I think it's because the "composite form" is only used when players use Equinox in a non combat type missons like you mentioned. Probably it's because Equinox has different ability behaviors for each mode(day/night), meanwhile the "composite form" is a fusion of both.

If you want the "composite mode" to be usable in any mission, DE has to attach the ability to the "composite mode" just to transform between 3 modes. So, unless the "composite mode" has another set of ability behavior which is completely different from day and night mode, the "composite mode" is useless in combat type mission. Therefore, the "composite mode" is used only in non-combat mission and can only do basic movements.

  16. I was about to recommend Opticor but forgot that Opticor's MR requirement has been changed. I was a Frost and Opticor main.

But, there's Thermia Fractures event going right now and it rewards Opticor Vandal on the last event objective. But, still, personal preferences matter.
