  1. We thought of something like this, and while its visually really cool and goes more toward our desire to make it feel more physical, it really doesn't help convey any of the hierarchy of which mission goes after which and also the differences in difficulty.

Also it really doesn't work for something like the void or derelict.

    Looks very cool though :)

The problem with what we saw in the preview was that, from what one may infer, planetary mission will have their nodes in SPAAAAAAACE. (Sorry, just got done playing Portal 2. :P) Would it be possible at all to have two different UI's? One for orbitting ships, and the other for Ground installations?

All we want is the immersion factor, and having ground installations in SPAAAAACE is logically preposterous in a game where Science is half of its genre name..

  2. One problem with DE's Solar Map is that the scale and placement of the planets is completely off.

Example: Phobos is a moon of Mars, yet orbits independantly? Ceres is a celestial body outside the Ort Cloud, yet is closer than Sedna, which is barely inside Sol's Sphere of Gravitational Influence?

For a Sci-Fi game I would hope that these things be addressed, but it's not like the -really- matter that much.

  3. Seeing as how the recent additional mission types such as Interception and Hijack have been integrated (Which, btw, I love them) I was thinking of ways to improve the current mission types. One that kept popping up in my mind to show the most potential for improvement was the mission type known as "Sabatoge."

Currently Sabatoge currently works in most cases in this format:

    Spawn

    Fight to reactor core

Open reactor core and shoot things

Shoot more things on way out

    End of mission

Now this format is good, but not entirely as memorable as, say, Hijack. Some ideas for improvements/changes to Sabatoge I have come up with:

Spawn in with cinematic if possible

    Get to reactor room

    Hack Reactor controls

Now here is where the fun part comes in. After unveiling the reactor core, the Tenno could...

A: Destroy the reactor core for big explosions and an epic getaway cinematic as the ship blows up and add to the "Quota" I shall speek on later.

B: Hold the reactor core for a time limit to EMP the ship for extra loot, but with an increase in difficulty due to shield drain in order to activate the EMP device.

C: Commandeer the ship by temporarily powering down all systems and proceed to take over the bridge. This would be the hardest option, yet at the same time would yield the best loot.

To tell the truth I love Warframe and I want to see it turn into the amazing game I know it can be; however in order for this to happen the universe must be integrated with the missions themselves. One idea I had alongside the Sabatoge changes was to add a weekly "Quota" of ships destroyed/enemies killed/etc. so as to create a reason to do all of the mission types, rather than just Defense all day, every day.

    Just my two cents' worth.

  4. So I spent a few slivers of platinum on the new Yamako Syandana, and I couldn't help but notice that on certain frames such as Volt, Banshee, Frost, etc. the cloth physics phase into each other, making only a few frames viable for the scarf to be worn upon.

I was wondering two things upon seeing this...

    1. Can this be fixed soon if at all?

    2. When are Syandanas and Sugatras going to start using Nvidia cloth physics?

But other than that, the electro-saw is amazing! I just wish we actually -see- the rebels that it's description tells us about on Sedna. Why aren't we working with them???

  5. I could not help but notice that since the latest hotfix of 13.3, the CPU of computers has been bottlenecked to run the game, not allowing GPU's to do their job fully. If this is a mistake this must be fixed or else could lead to various issues for high-end and low-end users alike.

  6. Beacuse people whined about them being too hard, and they could not progress further with their unranked Lokis and Bratons.

Well then people are stupid; I can solo it fine up to four times. This should be the new defense mission type!

  7. Let me start this post by stating that I have things that occupy my time in real life that prevent me from being able to play this game for hours on end farming resources. So, when I first heard of the Specters system, I did backflips, for I assumed they were to be used similar to Pokemon - that I could toss one down in the heat of battle and have it fight alongside me and my allies. They do for the most part... however there is one problem.

Specters are too expensive to justify their use as a consumable.

Even Vapor-level Specters require an insane amount of resources to craft. There could be many fixes for this:

    A. Make Specters persistant - meaning that when they die, they do not dissapear forever from one's account. Perhaps add a repair system?

    B. Lower the resource cost - maybe a thousand or so materials for Vapor; a number that can be gained back in good time

    C. Increase the amount of uses per build - maybe fifty or more uses for a Vapor per build?

I'm sure there are many other fixes that the community could come up with, however the problem still remains that the invest/return rate is laughable when Specters are consumable for such a high price.

A few tips that I could give on how to improve the concept of Specters itself, however, is...

    A. Allow for Aesthetic customisation - Let us color them and put our Syandanas and such on their equipment.

    B. Allow for modular customisation - We have plenty of mods; why not use them on our new AI Bro's?

    C. Perhaps choose between having a Sentinel or a Specter - Trade more firepower for the utility of a Sentinel?

That's just my two cents. Thanx for reading!

  8. But seriously, I can see where you're coming from.

I have a Djinn, and although it may not be close to comparison to Dethcube; it still does it's job.

Do you feel that if we lowered the cost people would be more inclined to make it?

I've heard good and bad things about Djinn so I'm wondering what your thoughts are.

I would like to know what exactly Fatal Attraction is supposed to do.

  9. I am a huge fan of Warframe. The combat is fulid, aesthetic is unique, and many other things give this game it's top spot on my prioritised game list. However, i am sad to see that there is little in-game story to make the player feel like he/she is in a living world. Operations help, but with alerts not having relevance and regular mission being nothing but dots on a system map, i feel that the world is just... there.

One small improvement that i hope would not take too much time and work would be something like enemy population counters or need-to-kill quotas for the week. Perhaps when the community reaches said quota each player would have a choice of several random rewards?

The idea is that when a player sees that the community actually put a dent into the amount of enemies in the universe, it would be a small boost to moral and incentive to keep playing for something other than the their next weapon. The grinding aspect of the game is admittedly the funnest grind i have played in any game, but the universe seems to not be as living as it is said to be.

P.S. I hope to see Operations implemented more and more. Operation Sling-Stone was awsome and Survival Weekend was a masterstroke!

  10. The moment we have to pay for essential game play elements is the moment I stop playing warframe forever.

    Terrible idea.

Game developers work for years on games, spending millions of dollars to provide the ultimate in entertainment experience. I don't feel regret when i hand them a fraction of the money they deserve. I'm not going to exploit a marketing plan; playing someone's lifework and not giving them a penny is just plain dishonorable.

  11. Unlike most threads, i feel obligated to give some postive feedback on Warframe.

Firstly, this game has some of the most satisfying combat i have ever experienced. With gunplay and melee combat weaved into each other with "magical" powers, Warframe makes the player feel like a killing machine. The sound engineers really deserve a raise, because as i slice through a Grineer Lancer with my Orthos i cringe at the sound of ripping flesh. Also, parcour is weaved in seemlessly with the combat in a way i have only ever seen in Mirror's Edge.

Second, the aesthetic of Warframe is totally unique. Few others game's artstyle is so unique; anyone that has played Warframe can see a screenshot and immediately go, "Hey, i've played that! Those are some good memories."

Third, the way cooperation is implemented in this game is incredible. When a Trinity is healing teamates, Mag is attracting Ash's shurikens with a Bullet Attractor, all while Necros is spawning an army to cover his friend's escape, all i can feel is awe at the teamwork that spawns from any situation. Please, keep improving on this PvE system.

While Warframe has it's bugs and glitches, i understand this is a beta and most shortcomings are in the process of being fixed. Nice job keeping tabs on the state of the game!

Thought i would give you guys some postive feedback for once. :)

  12. But Iron Skin usefulness was in using it to attract the atention of dangerous enemies, like disrupters, so your teammates can be safe. Now It has no point at all, seeing that you are not safe from disrupters, attracting them to you is not a good idea, This just make rhino useless in any given circumstance compared to other frames, he was used to be the tank, now he's purposeless.

Not so sure about every circumstance, but being used as the spearhead of Operation Human Shield i do agree that the nerf takes away his usefulness. Otherwise, a bit more evading is required to stay alive imo.

  13. You say you arent up for arguing and yet your condescending in your post...nice. You also havent used Banshee at all and yet you still have an opinion on her skill... Ok

I see a few problems with that reply, Clinton.

    1. Sophronius was not condescending against Banshee. He was having a conversation, not an arguement.

2: Please finish reading the post. He makes it quite obvious that he is well aware of Banshee's abilities, having stated his friend plays one alongside him.

    3. You ignored all he said about Rhyno. He makes a very good case for the over-nerf of his Iron Skin. Again, please finish reading the post.

In this post he makes a valid case of why the devs nerfed what they did: they want to not have the game be a CoD-esque "Push a button and win" game. We, as the players, should take what we are given and not complain about the changes, but make the best strategies using teamwork and coordination and only if no other viable option is presented say that something was brokededed. For Rhyno, Iron Skin for many fans is now almost useless, but probably because they still use it wrongly. (I speak in assumptions, for i have not played him) As for Banshee, her ability to run into a room, proc, and win was almost as bad as Lux's "Rainbow Road" ability in League of Legends; I am pleased to see it taken down a notch, but it is not so badly nerfed as to not be useful. One must be smart to use Banshee's ult now.
