  1. The tenno might actually be the Betrayers. After reading Stalker's lore and Excalibro Prime's lore, I think I can form a theory/story of what happened.

Stalker was there, watching as the Tenno, masters of blade and gun, were praised. But he noticed something strange, the Tenno weren't there to be honored, they were here to kill. Stalker yelled out, but the surronding noise drowned his. Suddenly a bright flash, bloodshed every where. The Tenno killed everyone, except for Stalker. For he foresaw what was to come and left before the bloodshed. A new era had started, 'The Collapse". The Orokin were not to die from the Sentients, but from their own Heros. Stalker made a promise ot his fallen brothers to avenge them, his put on his new gear, and slept until the Hunt began.

The Orokin were dieing out, few were left. The last made a plan to hide, to wait for the Tenno to forget what they ahd done. After the Tenno went to sleep, the Last created The Lotus. An ancient symbol, or idea from the Old days (Nemesis had the Lotus symbol on her in Dark Sector), they made a plan to purge the memories of the Tenno. However only one survivor could guide the Tenno, as their was only one pod available. The survivor would become the Lotus itself, guide the Tenno, for they have sinned. The Tenno will be repurposed the balance the System, to protect the innocent. for they can atone for what they done.

The Tenno are 'the betrayers' They killed the empire that created them. Whether this empire is the Orokin or the Orokin are an ancient empire destroyed by the Sentients long ago is still unknown. They probably did this because they decided that no single faction must be allowed to be in charge of the system (The 'balance' referred to in the Gravidus dilemma)

Stalker indeed at the ceremony working as a lower guardian. He did not survive because he foresaw what happened and got away though. He survived because he was propably spared by the Tenno who took him down. ''I tried to call out but only a strangled whisper escaped''

They did not make a plan to purge the memories of the Tenno. You have lost your memory because Lotus purged the cryo-pod too quick in order for you to escape Vor.

  2. I'll just paste what I replied to this on twitter already:

Here with my view on the Orokin so far. The Orokin are also referred to as the Orokin Era on Earth which to me implies that they were a human civilization at the peak of technological advancement.

We already know that Hayden Tenno from the original Dark Sector was the first "Tenno" which would make the Tenno among others a byproduct of the technocyte virus, which also created the infestation. The Empire and the Orokin were one and the same. They were the ones who built the Warframes, the originals of which were the Primes, which are pieces of Orokin technology.

After the war with the Sentients, the already weakened Orokin civilization fell apart at the hands of the Tenno for a yet unknown reason.

The Tenno went into Cryosleep, leaving behind the solar system with a power vacuum, which was eventually filled by the Grineer and Corpus.

The Grineer seem to originate from outcasts of the Orokin civilization which explains their general hatred for the Orokin, while the Corpus seem to be chasing the Orokin's technological advancement or even see themselves as the successors to the Orokin. Their reference to the Tenno as betrayers would imply this.

That's just my thoughts on the matter though.

There is currently nothing known about the Orokin making everything about it pure speculation. What I do know is that the Tenno now are created by the void and not by the Technocyte. This is explained in the Codex entry for Excalibur.

  3. This is the story I made from gluing all the bits and pieces of stray lore that's out there together. Please note that this is extremely based on personal interpretation and does not necessarily have to be the truth. Feel free to leave any comments and/or feedback and I'll see if I can make edits if necessary.

Edit: Text colour is a bit off. Need to see if I can fix it.

A long long time ago when man was young and the galaxy already old. An epic war unfolded in the far galaxy. This war was between 2 factions known as the Orokin and the Sentients. The Orokin were an highly advanced race with unrivaled technology. The Sentients however were highly adaptive. The Orokins advanced technology made the war easy at first but the Sentients adapted and quick. The Sentients adapted faster then any Orokin could have predicted, and they paid the price. With their own weapons being used against them the once mighty and advanced Orokin became more and more desperate but nothing worked. Even their last hope, their ultimate weapon which we know as 'The Infestation' failed. The Orokin had no other option but to hide, sending complete ships into the only place they still considered safe, The void. The void however is not a very hospitable place and the last surviving Orokin slowly became corrupted by it's influence. The only thing left of the once mighty Orokin empire are the derelict ships scattered around the galaxy. A sorrowful end to a once mighty civilization.

Millennia later a new civilization made their appearance in the galaxy, humans. All of the nations of earth united under 1 banner known as 'The Empire'. It was not long until the Empire and the Sentients met, and similar to the Orokin, a war erupted. This war was similar to the last one, the Sentients adapted to their foes, mastering their weapons and using them against them, the Empire stood no chance. Similar as last time the Empire looked to the only place where they could be safe, the place where their logic and reason failed them, the void. They quickly found out that not everyone who was send to the void stayed there, some were rejected and came back. These rejects were not the same as they were before however, they were changed, they were twisted yet stronger and above all, deadlier.

The Empire realized that these 'rejects' were the only hope they had left. They build a frame around them, a conduit of their new powers. They gave them the weapons of old, gun and blade. With this a new warrior was born, a new code was born. The Tenno were born. The Tenno became the Empire's saviors. They would be known as 'warrior gods cast in steel' Excalibur was the first. Soon others followed, each of them specialized in their own way of Warfare. Covert ops, guns blazing and mass destruction. The Sentients stood no chance.

Once the war was over the Tenno united and talked. They quickly came to a consensus: No empire may ever be allowed to rule the galaxy alone. A balance had to be created. They made the most painful and heartbreaking decision they ever made. The Empire they had just saved, had to be destroyed. They struck at Terminus, at the Imperial Salute. During this ceremony the Tenno were honoured for their indispensable services during the war. The Tenno however had other plans. During this ceremony the naga drums would beat 10 times. 10 beats to indicate the end of the suffering. At the 9th beat the Tenno struck. In 1 synchronized strike the guardians were taken down and a torrent of blood filled the stadium. In 1 swift strike the entire leadership structure of the Empire was destroyed.

As expected, and planned, The empire fell to pieces. Anarchy ensued, multiple smaller factions tried to gain control. The balance the Tenno sought had been established. After this moment the Tenno decided it is their duty to maintain this balance. To preserve themselves nearly all Tenno went into cryo-stasis. Leaving 1 to keep an eye on the galaxy and awake them should their services be needed once again.

This is why you have been reawakened Tenno. The balance is in danger. The Corpus and the Grineer factions have grown too strong. Meanwhile the Infestation has grown and threatens all life should it be left uncontrolled. Go forth now mighty Tenno. Your duty calls.

  4. Just because people ask high prizes doesn't mean they are actually selling it for that prize. If I  start spamming in the trade chat that I want to sell a max rank Thunderbolt for 2000 platinum it is not going to get me someone stupid enough to pay 2000 platinum for it while it is convincing people that the prizes are high and the trading system is bad.

New economies take time to have their supply and demand reach an equilibrium. I estimate 1 or 2 months until the ''meta-prizes'' start kicking in.

  5. How about specialized 'nightmare mode' events that add a little spice to the mission.  Take the ship commander idea, and flavor it to the mission.  So when you release a captive in a rescue mission, the head of the prison shows up with his elites guards to take back his prisoner.  Have a sabotage result in the head of engineering with some engineers attack you, exterminate and capture could be the ship commander and his guards (the capture target could even be in the same room as where the commander and his guards are).  Defense could have a special assault force show up, and survival could have additional system lockouts resulting in the room being depressurized like blowing out a corpus ship window (could even be the head of engineering running around hacking terminals and you have to find and eliminate him to get them to stop happening).

Also, it would be cool if you add extra treasure rooms only reachable while the ship is not on alert, but that get locked down if you let the enemies become alerted.  Maybe even another tier of treasure rooms that are still reachable until a lockdown is initiated, and then you're stuck with just the path to the objective and the exit.  I'd love both a reason to go exploring more (treasure rooms), and a reason to do missions stealthily.  The rooms would really need to be worth it though, as playing stealthily has several downsides, most notably it takes longer and you get less enemies to kill (and thus less loot is dropped).

    Awesome

  6. interaction will be very high

it should work by the highest in command that is defending the dojo giving orders to these guards

    advance-defend-cover-attack

the turrets activate by buttons in each room

outside of a battle you will be able to train the guard AI, by teaching it how to shoot, move through the battlefield, you might ask how? well, by doing it yourself! the guards AI will follow the clans leader combat behaviour and strategies! making it a much higher level of customization for the guards! its frankenstein all over again but in warframe! -insert evil laugh in here-

Your idea is awesome but I think that a few big bulky robots will not increase the ''atmosphere'' of the Dojo and make it feel like it actually is the headquarters of the clan. I recommend making a thread in the gameplay feedback forum with your ideas about dojo invasions. Maybe whoever ends up working on it can draw inspiration from it

  7. AI tenno? no need

this could probably be replaced by my initial idea of *drums please*.....mechanical guards, build by ourselves reverse engineering all three faction technologies, to create what would be a beta version of a warframe, they would be pretty big, slow and carry only one weapon. and dont forget the turrets, we love those pew pew pew turrets

to this comes also the possibilities of CLAN events, like being invaded by corpus/grineer/infested and we would have to defend the entire dojo with specific objectives marked in the map (example: defend the reactor for 3 minutes, later shut the doors of X room) ofcourse they would only happen when there are few clan members around, every 4 members being designated an objective, EXAMPLE

-in a clan of 40 people-

4 of the strongest players defend the dojo (one squad

20 would assault the ships killing everything (five squads)

and 16 would fastly rush into the invading ships core and blow the reactor up (four squads)

all the progress COUNTERING the invasion would be showed as a percentage bar, when the bar completely reaches 0 percent on the enemies side, you win and claim the corpse of the commander leading the invasion to your clan, (as a decoration) and an emblem

if you fail to defend the clan, it will be unavailable for 1 to 7 days depending on how extensive was the damage made by the invaders

    what do you think?

Awesome idea, The problem however is that dojo invasions have already been mentioned in the live streams and might already be concepted to a limited degree. As for the mechanical guards, they will serve excellent as protection but will they also make the dojo feel more ''alive''?

I love this idea. I've always felt like the missions were lifeless (whether it be a result of the Tenno in a mission killing everyone or just the fact that EVERYTHING you interact with is an enemy).

As an improvement on some of the bits mentioned in reply I think it would be super cool to have some kind of Grineer or Corpus insult you over the ship intercom, with comments like: "We know you're here, Tenno," or, "You'll never make it out of here alive, fools!" Also, maniacal intercom laughter would also be appreciated for survival missions and defense missions.

I love this one and I'll put it in the top post. Maybe add a broadcasting room somewhere in the map for awkwardness sake.

    Head of Security/Ship's Captain/Facility Commander;

Have a set of hidden sub-objectives (notification via Lotus comms when completed the objective) that when completed would send into the level a group of elite bodyguards with an even tougher elite in tow to 'deal' with the Tenno incursion. Group would not necessarily spawn directly next to the Tenno group and may turn up later in the level. Group could have higher chance of rare drops as well as unique drops depending one the level type (ship/settlement/asteroid facility etc) and the faction (corpus/grinder - festies would have to work differently). Would be a reason to not Zerg and could add another reason to hack consoles (so underutilized).

Also a great idea for spicing up the normal missions! I'll add it to the main post

  8. This is not exactly a good idea and it is pretty much a rip off of your fallen tenno idea.

    More Stalker interaction

The stalker fights tenno all the time, and there are times where he is defeated. What if you get the choice to spare, or kill him? This would be a rare occurrence, as if he would not be able to vanish because of his wounds. The person who deals the finishing blow would go up to him and press X, like a revive, and that screen would pop up. It would give you the choices KILL or SPARE as you are standing over him. The time on this action would be limited, if you let the time run out then the stalker would escape.(Vanish into smoke or physically run away) if you choose to spare the stalker then you would escort him to the Lotus to have judgment passed on him. Once you get to extraction, he quickly finds an breaks free and escapes, and Lotus acknowledges your attempt to bring him to justice and rewards you accordingly.(Experience, rare mat, etc.) Finally the choice to execute him. This would be complicated seeing as the stalker can not be killed permanently. Once you hit the kill choice, your tenno could go for his neck with a melee weapon in an attempt to cut his throat. We can not have him die, so he would disarm the one executing, or temporarily stun them and vanish away again. This option would have a greater reward then trying to bring him to justice, but it is not guaranteed for a reward, basically just an extra chance for a blueprint or mat.

I know that is not aesthetic or part of the immersion topic, so I have something else as well.

    More Stalker

Most of us have faced the Stalker before, and I am sure some of have wondered how long he has been following that particular person he attacks. So I suggest an appearance without an attack. One possible appearance will have the Stalker on a vent, or air duct, either behind the fans or in plain sight, watching you. No weapons, no attacks, just staring at you intently. If he is out in plain sight and you attempt to shoot at him he will vanish, your bullets passing through him like a mirage. In an unreachable part of the level, that you can clearly see but not shoot into, you can see the stalker duking it out with some of your fellow tenno. Some occurrences would have him be defeated, others would have him eliminate your fellow tenno and take their warframe with him to wherever he vanishes.

All of these would happen very rarely considering how rare he is already.

We will know more about the Stalker once the codex is in. until that time best to wait before making suggestions surrounding him.

  9. After nearly a year of experiencing this beta and seeing all the changes this game went though there is 1 thing that has always bugged me a little. While the level design is solid and has become very varied. (Ranging from desert settlements to derelict ships) the player interaction of the levels has always been a bit off. While DE has tried to add variance to the missions by adding random events that may occur they generally haven't worked out very well. (Examples include dozens of data-masses and the formerly loved key-pass door) Below I have some suggestions that may spice up the game and increase immersion of the player.

    1: Alpha squad operative.

When you choose to do a survival mission your task is to distract the enemy forces for long enough that another Tenno operative can raid important artifacts from the area. Strangely enough after running dozens of survival missions not a trace of this operative has ever been seen. My suggestion is to add several indications that there is an ally in the area. This can range from a random enemy corpse somewhere in a corner, dust falling from the ceiling as if someone is crawling through the vent shafts or a window through which you can see the operative giving you an acknowledging nod/assassinating an enemy.

    2. The fallen one.

You and your friends are not the only squad of Tenno completing their missions. There are in fact several other squads operating at the same time. This does however not always go well, or even horribly wrong with for example the Hyena assassination mission where ''Several cells have been lost due to underestimation'' My suggestion here is a random event where somewhere near the edge of a room is a damaged, severely injured Tenno to whom the Lotus has lost connection a while ago. (presumed dead) Upon discovering your injured brother/sister the player is left with 3 choices.
1: Mission first, your mission is the most important and nothing can be allowed to slow you down. In this scenario nothing will happen. Lotus may make a disappointed but understanding comment about the situation and move on
2: Mercy's embrace, you judge your brother/sister to be too injured to survive and to reduce his/her suffering decide to make his/her death be fast and painless. You retrieve the valuables and Warframe he/she was carrying and carry on as normal (Carrying the Warframe will limit you in the same way a data-mass currently does) Lotus will also make a sad but understanding comment and thank the player for retrieving his/her belongings and Warframe. Upon extraction the player is awarded extra credits and resources.
3: Guardian angel, You decide to rescue your brother/sister. In this case you will have to carry him/her to the extraction yourself. While doing this you will be unable to use any weapon or ability and you will be slowed down in the same way a hobble key currently does. You can put the Tenno back on the ground at any time should it be necessary to defend yourself. Upon reaching extraction Lotus will be very happy and the player is awarded extra credits and resources. Additionally they will also gain leaderboard points and have a chance to be awarded special rewards such as cosmetics or blueprints for a new weapon

    3. A.I. Tenno.

No matter how big your clan is your dojo will generally be deserted. While there are plans to resolve this by adding new things to the dojo like a trading post I think that A.I. Tenno around the place will give a dojo more spirit. These A.I's can vary from a Tenno doing push-ups in the barracks to a small group chilling on the couches in the clan hall (If only DERebecca didn't steal them!!!) or 3 Tenno that are practicing their swordsmanship in the dueling hall and can be challenged to a duel (swords only) where each of the 3 Tenno has a different difficulty. etc. etc.

    4. Civilian presence.

Any big spaceship has hundreds of unarmed crew members or civilians on board and it would be a stupid idea to just forget that they are there. What would be even more stupid is to have random civilians running through the crossfire like a bunch of headless chickens. My suggestion hereby is to not directly add civilians into the game but to leave Easter-egg kind of clues in the level that show that they are there, like the Alpha squad operative in suggestion 1. This is done to a lesser degree by the Corpus ship announcer. (there are in fact enough escape pods for everyone) But this can be more emphasized by things such as a CCTV screen showing a couple of soldiers escorting a group of civilians, the window to an unaccessible location through which Corpus/Grineer crewman give you disapproving fistshakes, escape pods flying past when you look through the window. and a secondary counter in extermination missions which show how many civilians are on the ship. (This counter will rapidly fall on it's own and should never inhibit the player from completing the mission) More options are available.

This concludes the list for now. More suggestions will be added in the future. Feel free to post any of your suggestions in this thread and I will add them to this post. Has any of these suggestions been made before? Let me know and I will credit them properly.

    Kind regards,

  10. For medium/big clans a board in the clan hall will be a major improvement. Being able to post a plan of what is going to happen with the clan/dojo will aid a lot since Warlords and Generals can't be online permanently and it will still be able to answer some questions fellow Tenno may have.

  11. Loki's Lessons are little tips and tricks. Lotus often gives gameplay advice. Many art pieces are linked and created. Relationships are explored.Remember that the Tenno all have a mild amnesia and may be less than serious. Even professional soldiers need downtime.

This. I doubt it's possible to say it any better. Thank you
