  1. I'd honestly prefer dedicated Void weaponry like Laser Rifles or Sustained Laser Rifles, but that's just me.

me too. it's not too crazy to assume that there are some orokin weapons we missed and didn't try to reverse engineer. I'd bring up reaper and dakra prime as stand-alone primes, but there are other scythes, and dakra was based on the cronus. even so, unique void weapons would be great

I also don't think it's too far-fetched to believe that the corpus could have tried to reverse engineer orokin weapons, and thus we should see some prime versions of those down the block. that would be pretty cool

slightly related note: we've been seeing a lot of grineer content in terms of tilesets and enemies recently, but we've been seeing a lot more corpus weapons. like the amprex and serro recently. I do think the corpus need a little more love than just that, though. here's hoping the next event is coming up soon, and that it's corpus-oriented

  2. soul punch and smite are pretty fun (also similar, not travel time 1 skills). but I do think they might be in the lowest 10 in terms of abilities

contagion and ice wave, on the other hand, are good. ice wave isn't great for long survivals and defenses, as it loses its lustre around level 40 enemies. but up until then, it's incredible, and extremely fun. contagion is good now that melee is usable

null star, bullet attractor, and psychic bolts should be in the worst 10 list, though. possibly fire blast as well. I'd take renewal out as well. it can definitely be a helpful ability, and now that blessing requires you to actually lose health before getting a benefit, they're both made for similar situations, so they're somewhat comparable. and the auto-revive is pretty handy

but hallowed ground definitely needs to slow enemies. in order to make room for null star, bullet attractor, psychic bolts, and fireblast, I'd take ice wave, contagion, soul punch, and smite off the list, personally

wait, what about silence? I haven't used it since the most recent change, but is it no longer useless? it was still pretty bad after DE introduced rescue 2.0, and I haven't tried using it since. and is teleport any good now since its recent changes? those might contend for a spot on the worst 10 list (silence vying for that top spot, too)

  3. lag issues certainly make explosive weapons more dangerous to yourself. but you have to track your penta grenades every time. the self-damage is a drawback for the massive death and destruction that these weapons can cause. I think it's fair

bombards and napalms should be subject to self-inflicted damage as well. but usually firing it at their own feet isn't the issue. it's when they've targeted you from 50m away and have already fired 3 projectiles at you, meanwhile you're taking down a horde of their allies. everything apart from napalms and bombards is a distraction, apparently

  4. they r working up a scheme for a new mod that will be like impossible to obtain to players would spend like 4 billion $ to get plat and get it from other players, like primed chamber

or maybe they're waiting until players start paying 10k plat for primed chamber, and then they're release the next event, in which prime chamber can be obtained by everyone

  5. I haven't seen them confirmed in any way.

I suspect not as more status chance stacking could get silly.  We can already make a Grinlock that fires two shots 90% of the time with each shot having about 96% chance of a proc.

this is a good point. we really don't need more status boosting mods. otherwise you could hit +240% status chance just from those 4 elemental mods, so a gun with just 20% status chance will have 100% status chance with multishot. as much as I'd like DE to release the full set of element+status mods, all that status chance is ridiculous. but then again, at that point, you could just use the standard damage mods for 90% damage instead of 60% dmg+60% status.

then again, it'll allow players who weren't there for the cicero and tethra events to max out their status guns. then again, DE might release those mods in nightmare mode or something, so those players can get their toxic/electric+status on

and even though the other status mods (you know, the ones that max out at like 15%) are extremely underpowered, these dual mods don't make up for that. those old mods still need to be fixed or repurposed (after all, they used to be stun chance mods, so another complete rework of those shouldn't be an issue)

all in all, the trend is there, so it's definitely a decent chance, but I personally would prefer if DE gives us some other dual stat mod instead, change it up. because we really don't need +240% status chance. even +120% with cicero and tethra mods only is crazy

  6. I chose mag, because she was sort of the odd ball out of the three current starters. excal was the all-around, good for starters frame (he's sort of a jack of all trades, which is nice and all, but nothing spectacular). and loki is "desired by advanced players" (aka, for players who think they're hot stuff from the get-go. dat arrogance) so I was going to be that guy who chose the manipulator of magnetism, who could turn the tide of battle when the going got tough (and Crush was basically the only ability I had equipped, too. pull wasn't too good in those days, I didn't see the power of shield polarize, and I didn't need bullet attractor because I didn't just fire in the general area of enemies). and I'm definitely glad I made that choice. of course, she was just the vessel that held my guns, as I mentioned, I really didn't use her abilities. but she had good shields, so of the three starters, at least she was pretty durable (excal is too. loki not so much)

replaced her with banshee as soon as I got the pieces, though. remember when those showed up as mission rewards? it was a much simpler time

  7. How to build Hydroid. Farm Vey Hek for all 3 Parts Build him. Level to 30 place on shelf never play useless frame again.

    haters gonna hate

he's a pretty fun frame, I like the build. it makes you more versatile when you have 4 useful abilities, and that's what this build is all about. with blind rage and narrow minded not maxed out, you don't lose too much efficiency or range. and fleeting is a must for spamming skills, which is exactly what you want to be doing. and -range actually makes tempest barrage more precise, which can be good

  8. it won't count the scan unless the injector is in use. I've done this too, multiple times, just in case. but the injectors that are there just for show (like in survival missions) don't count. fortunately, one of the mission types on earth does activate the injector. I don't remember which one, though

  9. It's possible that shimmering blight's combo can increase your combo meter faster. but it's fairly limited in range, since bleeding willow's combo has a lot of dashing forward

I prefer bleeding willow's 4-hit quick/simple combo to shimmering blight's 3-hit one. the animation just looks better, and I think bleeding willow hits a wider swath of enemies around you

I didn't even change the stance polarity on my orthos prime. a catalyst and maybe 1 forma (possibly 2, can't remember) is more than enough

  10. was going to question OP's motives drawing wildstar and other games into a topic in general discussion. then I actually read the post

and I have to say, well-put. very good points made, warframe is still a relatively young game, and DE has to stay focused on their goals for the game. the big picture. the tenno ship is looking pretty neat, and as long as DE doesn't get bogged down by short-term goals (things like new weapons, planets, frames, even frame balancing, which can be time consuming and detracts from moving the game forward with new content. not that it isn't necessary, it's just that DE needs to remember the end goal) and always strives towards their ultimate vision of Warframe, then they should be alright

it was definitely the darker aesthetic and the moderate simplicity that drew me to warframe. that and the possibilities and potential of the game. each warframe has its own feel, and 4 largely unique abilities. 4 seems like a manageable amount, not like in some MMO's where you have multiple hotbars just to fit all your abilities in. but it gives you enough variety still. we are still waiting on those general frame abilities, though :P

also, I love the free to play model, partially because I'm cheap, and partially because it gives you the ability to pay for the game after you've already played it, by buying plat or prime access. DE does this pretty well, I think. you don't have to pay money (especially since now you can trade plat), but you can if you want to support the game you've spent hours playing. other games require you to pay upfront and it's a risk. you won't know if you'll really enjoy the game, but you'll force yourself to if you shell out the cash. with F2P, that isn't hanging over you

  11. preface: I was going to post this in the 13.4 topic, but then it got locked. it's better it's not buried in the recesses of a different topic, though

I'm glad DE is still working on melee stuff, but more combos for decisive judgment so it'll have 3 just like the other nikana stance? meanwhile other stances are left with just one still? great. no love for bleeding willow and shimmering blight? shattering storm and crushing ruin? at least swirling tiger got a mention (now that its counterpart has 3 combos to its 1...). but cleaving whirlwind, gnashing payara, coiling viper, iron phoenix, pointed wind, and brutal tide get no mentions?

so if you guys at DE were looking for an exhaustive list (pretty sure, at least) of stances with just one combo that you didn't mention in your 13.4 post, there you go. thanks for the continued work and all, but just saying you've got your work cut out for you

  12. maybe it's DE's way of avoiding rebalancing elemental mods like shocking touch (though that doesn't explain all the primary and secondary electric weapons). I don't know why DE wants us to electrocute all our enemies

who else thinks we're going to get an arc trap launcher, so that we can have one electric primary from each faction? not saying I want that, but it seems to be where DE's headed

  13. I'm looking for a warframe with high damage and can take a beatin and i already know rhino or saryrn would be good who else would be in my general playstyle?

Frost too. ice wave and avalanche are great damage-dealing abilities, and snow globe will keep you, your team, and/or the pod safe (to a degree, of course)

rhino just happens to be fairly easy to obtain, as his parts drop from venus. but I would recommend saryn as well, definitely. he molt ability is great to divert aggro, and now it explodes once it runs out of health, which is pretty cool. but her other abilities are great, and viral/toxic/corrosive are great damage types

while not necessarily high damage, trinity can take a beating and heal up. link can dish out a beating, though

  14. Having high mastery means being part of the high mastery master race.

    #MasteryMasterRace

but people don't seem to understand that ranks 17-30 are not meant to be obtainable yet. yes, founders have a bit of a leg up with the extra 12000 mastery, and 6000 from pre-beta (lato & braton vandal). but the rest of us will get there eventually if we so choose. I'm glad DE removed exclusives that you can't obtain from the codex, that was the only real place where completionism wouldn't let you rest, seeing excal prime and such starting at you

you just need to come to terms with it. I did. I accepted that I'll never have those 5 items, and I was fine with that. so complete the game to the best degree that you can. if you came to the party late, there are weapons you can't get anymore. but you can still get the rest of them, so do that if you want to "complete" the game

  15. If enemies kill each other, you get no exp. (meaning chaos does nothing to "promote" exp gain fast)

If your ability kills the enemy, you get all the exp, it is not split among your weapons. (absorb will only level your frame if it kills)

If your team kills the enemy, your exp is split among your weapons, frame, and I believe sentinel. (Likely the exp you are seeing)

    ^

nyx is one of the worst frames for leveling weapons. rhino and banshee are pretty great with roar and sonar, respectively. allows you to get kills with weapons even when they aren't modded out

  16. I feel Hydroid's Tempest barrage should be on the list IMO. Does semi decent damage and knocks enemies down while being his cheapest ability.

agreed, it's pretty great for locking down an area

and I would take off the movement abilities speed and wormhole. because shield polarize and sonar definitely deserve a place on a non-ult top 10. link and the new energy vampire should probably be up there too, but it is pretty tough, so many options to choose from

  17. "Leave my mother out of this"

    this one's definitely up there

I miss Hek being the status shotgun, then out of the blue DE stealth nerfed it, and stealth buffed boar prime and strun wraith to 40% status chance. I also remember when damage 2.0 first came out the boar prime and jaw sword were 50% status chance, that was fun for a bit

but the big one has to be old-school, cpu-crushing venom. good times

  18. I definitely think R could be utilized with melee for something. maybe DE will add more combos to those stances with just 1 that will incorporate the R button. that would be great. mostly just having a second combo for my orthos prime

  19. so I guess comparing the sybaris to the burston prime is out of the picture? aw, poor burston prime :(

edit: ninja'd. glad I'm not the only one who thinks burston prime is a solid weapon

didn't realize the sybaris and latron prime were so close in terms of total damage, it's the distribution that throws you off. I don't mind the burst, but just 2 round burst doesn't seem like enough. with burston prime's 3 rounds, you can sweep across a crowd of enemies, but 2 rounds isn't much time to adjust mid-shot. latron prime is more of a sniper without the ridiculous scope/zoom, which is a benefit, I think. I prefer the latron prime for accurate long distance shots, but the sybaris is a powerful gun and the damage is more well-rounded

my vote still goes to latron prime, though. but again, it's more of a personal preference
