  1. The sortie mission is essentially a crappy lottery where you either thing something that saves you some plat, makes you some plat, another lottery ticket, something that may be worthless, or something that's worth 300 plat. Then you look at the rarity of things and it's totally messed up, Rivens are in the most common bracket and yet worth more plat than almost all the rewards (ignoring the ridiculous marketplace cost for endo).

I think the inherent problem with sorties is the problem with Rivens and that problem is that they're too desirable, they don't just even out bad weapons they take good weapons out to orbit. So because rivens are too desirable no one wants any other reward except the legendary cores, anasa statues can be sold for plat to buy unveiled rivens but that's it. The idea of Rivens is nice but disposition can't be revisited often enough to balance them out that's why we've got opticor rivens going for 1000p.

Sorties are a lottery where the second most desirable prize is another lottery ticket. It's just some kind of weird existential misery once you realize that.

  2. Nope it's not. That was the first thing my friends and I checked and we've done at least 4 or 5, 20 minute runs trying to get the Octavia piece and took keys hoping the bug had been fixed.

This just needs to be put into someone's work queue. It probably should have been put into someone's work queue back in November when it seems like the oldest thread was.

    The fight might be tough

So here's a basic how to Exta for you,

Look the issue isn't that it's hard the issue is that it's bad. Also what else is there to say? It's stupid and it sucks you shoot a hose of his backpack and then you sit and wait for a certain attack animation where he freezes himself and I guess you shoot the backpack then, that happens 3(?) times and then you're allowed to kill him.

What's the issue here? The fight sucks when new players run it they ask if it's broken and you just have to explain it's just crappy. Sometimes he does the attack you need often and other times he doesn't do it very often. This is valuable feedback on Exta, it sucks and should be changed I don't have a recommendation because anything would do. Make it require less overhead swings, let us do some damage via the backpack, honestly anything is fine. There is no detailed feedback to give on Exta, it's a horrible design and presents an awful impression of the game. You guys want to talk plastic surgery for my tumor and I just want it excised.

Is it a feature you don't understand?

Is this entire forum actually just full of people trolling? I'm saying that the fight represents such horrible and fundamentally bad design that it needs to be played to even be believed. The only feedback on Exta is to nuke it from orbit because it's completely horrible and the user experience for a new player in it is horrible, even worse for someone who decides they want miter.

My feedback is that people expose themselves to this nigh criminal design, I just assumed everyone would know what I'm talking about because it's a real horrible boss. Though I could have been more clear in my OP what would have made things a lot easier is if people didn't flood into the thread and start generating noise because they didn't recognize a node name. If you don't recognize the node name you probably either haven't done the fight multiple times or have already forgotten it, and thus don't have a lot to contribute. There is zero problem with a user referring to a node name in a thread and the lot of you bungling in here babbling about "does exta mean exterminate" was the problem, not me.

You've still to explain the actual issue

Are you guys obtuse on purpose here? Is this concern trolling? Every new player goes into the fight and thinks it's bugged because it takes so long and makes no sense. It's horribly designed. Shooting off his coolant tank is fine but then just sitting and waiting for him to freeze himself a few times until he becomes vulnerable is confusing. On top of that the fight got broken because Equinox hit 4. What is the issue, what ISN'T the issue with the fight. I dare anyone to tell me one thing right about Kril's design in that fight. It's all wrong.

DE would take their time to run the mission

You run the mission. There aren't words to explain just how crappy Exta is, this thread is feedback on Exta. It's not a tech support thread so I don't see why people need to flood in here and ask for clarification. I'd hope DE can figure out what they named their missions. I mean why don't you guys find a thread about index and ask if it's about the anime.

  7. Just see how many new players ask you if the fight's (the one against vor and kril the one you have to farm to get miter and Panthera) bugged and then change it, and try to forgive yourselves.

edit: Lol just had a equinox break him by using mend and maim.

edit edit: host migration fixed it but then it didn't register him dying so we all had to leave since no extraction appeared.

edit edit edit: I mean maybe you guys all got miter and Panthera years ago, but to me the horrible fight is pretty memorable. It's not even the lack of a cue it's that you sit there waiting for him to do a specific attack and nothing else, also multiple abilities can slow down the fight or outright break it.

  8. Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I don't have a ton of time. Im just wondering why I can make Mantis parts in the app but not the Mantis itself? Seems kind of backwards. I understand limitations like items that need you to choose what weapon goes into it but is it simply that someone forgot to add the ships themselves to the mobile app's list?

Wait, you don't know? xD Carrier used to be the only sentinel with Vacuum two years ago. DE revealed the statistics at the time during the Tennocon 2016 and it was 73% of players' Carrier usage. 73% for both Carriers and 27% for all the rest of the companions including the non-vacuum sentinels combined

I had an inkling of it based on design of the sentinels but I still had to throw that out there.

It's contrarians in the Dev team, m8. Not on the forums. They hate this whole issue and being stubborn about it for years.

It's just like dealing with Blizzard all over again. Well hopefully they pull their heads out of you know where and just look at the stats. I'd love to see any focus grouping on this game where people prefer it with vacuum off. It's just frustrating especially in a game that is so dependent on resources.

For the minority of the people who dislike vacuum

Jesus, is this really the hold up? Just change the Vacuum mod from Sentinel to Sentinel/Companion. Give me a hoover melee weapon, I mean jesus.

It's mind blowing that such an innocuous QoL isn't in because some forum members decided to die on the "loot vacuum negatively impacts my experience" hill. As a new player I was excited to get my Smeeta Kavat I even bought a few genetics from the market since I didn't want to wait and then the lack of vacuum hit me right in the face. Having to run around for the loot just sucks the fun out of the game for me, and if the only thing holding it up is some contrarians on the forum that's just sad.

I mean imagine if Vacuum was a Carrier only ability for a second, after all he's the only unit with a visible vacuum. That'd just be horrible and he'd be the most used sentinel.

  11. I wanted to have a mod that matched the slot on my Mire because it was a neat weapon to use on Nidus, BIG MISTAKE thinking that. The only stances that match it's socket are locked behind the Grineer Arena (at a ridiculous drop rate) or weekly Conclave. I don't really like either of those things(does anyone like Arena?) and honestly don't see why anything PVE related needs to be locked behind Conclave.

  12. Oh and I forgot how it's really easy to accidentally pick up too many points combine that with the fact that the computer definitely cheats and pulls points out of nowhere. Even bugs like one of my allies respawning with 7 points on her. It's annoying I basically need ammo refills because if I step away from their point for a second they'll score with massive amounts of points which they got from who knows where.

It's unfortunate I really like this game but to see almost an entire thread of people repeating how awful it is and how awful index is and it's still in here just as it was.Even the index itself is still optimally done by letting yourself die after getting to 25 points. They'll never fix it because somehow it's an acceptable way to get nidus? This buggy mess of a game mode that people only participate in to farm credits.

I guess I'll wait for my friends to get to it and craft lots of ammo restores.

  13. The ten point margin index quest is awful for a few reasons

    1. You have to put up money after the Perrin Sequence already talked about how they offered a sizable bounty? Why is the Tenno putting up the money? Makes no sense
    2. Either your NPCs are dying on purpose or the computer is just being given points in some instances. You'll randomly see an enemy appear with massive amounts of points. I don't know if it's that the NPCs kill enemies and never pick up the points or if the entire thing is rigged
    3. You can accidentally put yourself in a no win situation if you run over points accidentally I was leading 11-2 and accidentally had 13 points wit the bonus on me. I'm pretty much screwed when the enemy comes out of nowhere to score 11 points right near the end
    4. Surprisingly before the 10 point margin quest no one shows up with a S#&$ ton of points in the last 20 seconds of a match magically.
    5. Every player has to have the 160k so good luck doing this with your friends if you just started the game. Also if you have a good team and have bad luck all your teammates might not be able to try again next time.

It's really hard to think this is just 'accidental' bad design and instead just frustration locking something that happens to be in the cash shop.

  14. I guess I should just get a full premade group for it, but why put in NPCs when all they do is feed the team huge amounts of points and make winning inside the margin incredibly hard? On top of that I'm just wasting credits with every failure. Just remove the NPCs and you make the quest non-depressing.

It's late. I just want to get closer to the Nidus frame, and I have this stupid mission in my way. Oh and you lose your credits if you win by too much, you lose your credits if you hit a draw, you lose lose lose. All this while trying to balance a ten point lead against NPCs that either let themselves die or a game that just gives the enemy points at random to F*** with you.

I mean the whole index is pretty bad considering you have to just let yourselves die at some point in the normal version and this quest version isn't much better. I don't know if these NPCs are suddenly dying at light speed or if the computer is just randomly given points so I get screwed over.

edit: actually getting a full team would be tough because all my friends are new and they'd need 160k+ credits.
