  1. It's not unsoloable. You just need constant DPS ala Gorgon. Swords also aren't a bad bet given that Loki has access to Invis, meaning that all you have to do is keeping slashing away at him while he sits there derped.

Also Aklato is only a good starters option. If you're trying to solo bosses and you're underleveled then you better be packing multiple sets. i.e Gorgon and Afuris both modded with high reloads and Elec damage for Hyena.

  2. They're not entirely pointless. You get to pop back up where you were. Whoop-de-friggin-doo. This is a co-op game anyway meaning that you should have people around to revive you. Your entire argument is based around "People die and therefore constantly need Revives and therefore they should be free". It's the same in any game though; if you want to play solo then be ready to accept the consequences. It's not as if "Oh you died with no Revives? Psssh, you're gone til they reset." No. It just means that you need to be more careful and not charge in like an idiot every 3 seconds when there's 80+ enemies in a room. Even "casual" gamers should know that if you're playing solo you need to be careful. I'm by no means a hardcore gamer and I knew this fact waaaayyyy back when I was a little kid playing PS.

The system is fine the way it is. No one is saying "Well you want a Warframe, cough up the $. Well you want a weapon, cough up the $. Well you want Reactors/Catalysts, cough up the $." Everything excluding some color options, avatar images, and weapon skins are attainable in-game as a F2P player if you bother to work at it. As I said the only thing that actually warrants spending platinum on are slots and even then if you're one of those "I MUST HAZ IT ALL AND HAZ IT CAPPED" then you should have no issue paying a little bit of cash,

Be glad this isn't a Freemium game where you need to be a P2P player just so you can revive in the middle of a stage. As I said; DE was more than generous and gave people an inch and now they're gonna keep crying their way to a mile.

  3. It's also one of the few weapons you can simply outright purchase as opposed to having to build it. Trying to compare it to some other weapons is like comparing Dual Skanas to Dual Heatswords or Skana to say Cronus.

  4. The problem that those of us that have paid have with your "We want moar free stuffs" arguments is that it's entirely ludicrous. Let me ask a question: If you managed to reach say level 30 (Pretty sure it's not possible at this point but I'm just using this as an example) and were finally given access to the top-tier God mode stuffs....wouldn't you be mad if DE suddenly said "Oh yeah....remember that stuff that you needed to be level 30 for? Well now level 1s can get it. Have fun with your rage". Why would you be mad? Because you committed extra actions to ensure that you would get these things. Same with us paying for them. We've done something that you all haven't: we've paid for the nice things that we have. So for you guys to sit here and say "Oh well I'm F2P but I can't get extra slots like this guy that paid real world money even though you guys gave me 50 platinum to start and therefore the game is P2W" is pretty much the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. It's nonsensical to think that you should be handed something that the rest of us had to go the extra mile for.

Should DE decide that "Hey, every 3 levels you're given the option of: 1) A Warframe slot, 2) 2 Weapon Slots, or 3) An Orokin Reactor and Catalyst" then I'd have no issue with it. But to sit there and say that you deserve everything that those that bought it do just because? No bueno

  5. I hate the slots argument. It's understandable granted but it's still an incredibly weak argument. $5 is 75 plat. A Warframe slot is 20 platinum per. It's 12 platinum for 2 weapon slots. Now the game gives you 50 platinum to start. So right there that's: 2 Warframe slots/1 Warframe slot & 4 Weapon Slots/ 8 Weapon Slots. Are you telling me that in a game that you apparently enjoy enough that you go out of your way to level every possible piece of equipment, you're not willing to spend $5 to help a company that's been a lot more generous than pretty much any other FPS company??

The Catalyst/Reactor argument is another that I don't like. You can find these in-game...and it's really not as hard as many make it out to be. "Well I have to be online at x time or I don't get it" Well we have a specific part of the forums dedicated to Alerts so you know whether it's worth your time to log in or not.

DE has already given F2P players an inch with the 50 plat...and you guys are just gonna keep pushing until you get that mile *sigh*

  6. Latron would be another possible for silencers/suppressors since it's more or less Snipertron with more ammo and a little less damage.

By this same right think about how I can swing my scindo while clinging to a wall. It would work out, given the correct usage. And the reason I suggested these High Power, One Hit Kill if used correctly alternatives is, as I said.

But with Scindo it's actually possible. While you'd need two hands to use it to it's fullest ability, using one hand and swinging it like a pendulum would still be plausible. A bow there's no way you could do it. You could do it in pretty much any other situation as you said but remember that they needs weapons that apply to every situation.

  7. I've got an idea. Let's take a co-op game where everyone has access to the same general skill set. Now let's give them a skill where they can OHKO pretty much anything and wipe an entire room in under 3 seconds. Because ya know...the odds of them figuring out that they can just rotate who uses this skill are next to nil *sigh*

Also ninjas don't exclusively just use one thing. They're most well known for using ninjato (they don't use katana. You're thinking samurai) but they'll use anything they need to to accomplish their goals. Other standard weapons in the ninja arsenal were: climbing claws (had the secondary use of bashing a guy's face in with them), Yumi bow, Shuriken (Ash has this) , Ninja Stars (there is a difference here), Mishibishi (I horribly butchered this word probably) spikes (used to slow down the enemy. They're like caltrops), etc etc. So saying that a ninja wouldn't use a gun isn't really correct. He'd use whatever he could get his hands on.

  8. Actually the Rambo reference made me think about it. Bows wouldn't work. The handbow idea might but a two handed "Pull to fire" bow wouldn't. When you do the wall run and rest on the wall you use both hands: one to hold your weapon and the other to hold yourself against the wall. Since you'd need both hands (One to hold the bow frame and the other to draw back) to fire a bow weapon it wouldn't work.

Silencers/Supressors would be nice. You'd have to be reasonable with it ofc (i.e No Akbolto, Bronco, or other heavy fire weapons) but it'd be nice. Would also give me a reason to actually use Snipertron.

  9. The problem with the $5 argument:

There are 10 frames in the game for now, if you want to try all of them you need 8 slots. A frame is pretty useless without a reactor, so you need 10 reactors.

    That's 360 plat.

Then there are 8 weapon slots, okay let's say that's enough. A weapon without a catalyst is even more useless, so you need 8 catalysts, i.e. another 160 plat.

So, 520 plat for starters, at the start you get 50, still need 470.

The closest is 570 plat for $29.99.

You do realize that you can get Catalysts and Reactors for simply doing Alert missions right? Like seriously, it's not that hard -_-

"Kiddo" yourself. First, I'm self-emplyed so I actually know the value of money without having to toss it around. Second, among other things I work for a company which creates a free product with some premium options. Hundreds of thousands of free users, realtively few paying users - and guess what, it's the most popular product on the market, can sustain the company including the programmers and testers and whatnot, and is actively being developed. And want to know the best part? NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT ABOUT PRICES. Not a single one. EVER.

Moral of the story? It can be done right.

See my reply above. If you have so many users *@##$ing about one thing, you're probably doing wrong.

What do you guys think Google or Facebook live from, when you can use those products completely free? You think the employees of those companies don't eat?

You know I could go on and on about how I work for a company that does stuff without presenting any factual evidence supporting my claims too. 'Snot hard.

Also those sites host ads. As in...they get paid to let people put their product/website on there. As in....they get a % each time someone clicks on an external link. As in...that's how a lot of their employees get paid.

Also to claim that you manage to please 100% of your target audience warrants me calling you a liar. Because it's impossible to please everyone. Hate to break that sad fact of life to you.

  10. Seeing as how they give you 50 plat it's more than adequate to just give 2 Warframe slots and 8 Weapon slots for fully f2p. Warframe slots are 20 plat per while Weapons are (iirc) 12 for 2.

Honestly if you enjoy playing with every Warframe imagineable then it should be no trouble for you to buy some slots. Heck, 75 platinum is (iirc) $5. That's 3 slots right there. You're telling me that in a game where you apparently enjoy playing it enough that you play as every character available, you can't afford to spend $5?

  11. I'm confused. The only true difference between a crossbow and a bow is the amount of distance that you need to lead a target. Unless you're using "The Hand Crossbow" as kind of a Yue Ying Handbow.

Also an interesting alternative would be to have these weapons all be featured in as melee weapons. Use plasma charging between the two points on the Bow/X-bow to create the "string" which you could then proceed to slash a guy in half with if he got too close.

Sidenote; Daggers OHKOing an unaware enemy would be ridiculously OP. I could use Ash or Loki and rofl my way through an entire map with maybe a single Power Max.

To elaborate on that first part about leading. A crossbow bolt is essentially launched at a target the same as a ballista would launch it's bolt and therefore has a greater starting velocity. It therefore has more of a "point and click" mentality behind aiming it. A bow has to be adjusted for fall angle as well as leading the target since it doesn't have as much of a starting velocity. It's closer to using a rubber band to shoot paper clips at someone.

  12. It more or less works out to this:

Rhino is good at putting himself in the position to easily surive. Charge helps him be one of the first guys the enemies see. Iron Skin helps him when he's crowded and needs to survive. Radial Charge helps clear out some guys when he's crowded, as does Rhino Stomp.

Frost is good at creating an easily survivable position. 1st skill helps to freeze the tougher guys (Ancients and whatnot). 2nd helps get rid of some mooks. 3rd is more or less what entirely creates the "easily survivable position". 4th is similar to Rhino's Radial Charge but just with more damage and range iirc.

So it's pretty much this; do you want to move to the easily survivable position or do you want to create the easily survivable position??

  13. I've noticed that it didn't start happening until after the weekend was over for me. Played fine up until ~Monday afternoon and then it started derping. I've turned off every firewall I've got, changed rules for ports, forwarded ports, reset the client, reset the computer, reset the modem....you get where I'm going with this e.e

  14. It's not a bad idea really. The problem is that the tutorial area wouldn't really be enough to showcase certain aspects of the weapons. i.e If you took a trial for Boar after using Strun for awhile you'd probably still side with Strun just due to damage. Even though Boar is a better all around weapon imho, the tutorial/rank-up stage is too small for you to really begin to see the versatility of the weapon. Also as it was already said mods can completely change the useages around.

As far as Rhino being incredibly slow I just figured that was a given. Also I believe it's been confirmed that the default Sprint Speed for all Warframes is 1.0. Only difference being that a lot of Warframes have access to skills that let them move faster, which Rhino does as well.

  15. The game really hasn't generated enough money yet for them to do a whole bunch of large-scale maps. Though I do like the idea. It'd also be a nice way to introduce new missions as opposed to what we have right now. One that I could think of would be a mix between Elimination and Capture where Team 1 has to draw away the majority of the enemy and eliminate them and Team 2 uses the distraction to go after the general.

  16. I prefer the set-up the way it is now. It keeps the servers from having a load of stress while at the same time making things very quick and easy to navigate through. From my understanding of the lore the Tenno aren't exactly a large force at this moment. Maybe later on as more worlds are introduced they could do a quick update to the story saying something along the lines of "The Tenno are beginning to amass their forces against the Grineer" or something. Around that time the game will have probably generated enough money for them to alot more bandwidth for a homebase.

I also think it'd be a good opportunity for a new Alert mission. The Grineer have discovered the location of your base and are beginning an invasion. You could work an Extermination, Defense, Capture, Rescue....any number of ideas into it.
