=> They're aware and they introduce new weapons like that anyway, because people like them. I don't think that's going to change anymore.

You say like. But I'm not sure all of the people using these weapons do so because they like them. I'm almost certain it's at least a 50/fifty split. The other half are using the most optimized option because it's fast and it gets them "X" much faster. Now what "X" is, is down to the person but I'm almost certain those people don't care about anyone but themselves in what they are doing.

Why does this bother me? The same reason many things in multiplayer games bother me. Things like this are often done at the expense of others. When its myself I'm annoyed... When I watch people say something in chat, are ignored, leave AND then openly complain in chat about it - it absolutely insenses me.

The Tonkor, Sonicor and Staticor did all get nerf'd though right? The Tonkor so much that you didn't see it anymore and it got a Riven dispo boost from 1 to 2 if I'm not mistaken.
The Ignis and the Amprex are by far the biggest culprits of the weapon side of the issue. They have a Dispo of 2. I'm unsure if it was ever 1. But when they perform this strongly on a Dispo of 2 then there is a clear and logical step forward.

We all know we have the best community around. But it will not stay that way if people don't try to maintain it. when you say "I don't think that's going to change anymore" it bothers me a little. I've seen this SO many times. Phantasy Star, World of Warcraft, Tera... they all started well and with great communities [World of Warcrafts was bad for more years than it was good...] but after popularity engulfed the games more and more, undesirables from other games crept in that exploited the game or the community making it worse off. I'm worried that's happening here. Popularity and hype is going up and so are the frequency of these sort of events. I genuinely care about this community, it's amazing. So the least we can all do is stay vocal right?

DE as a company won't do anything until there is community felt disruption surrounding one subject - and that's how it should be. I shouldn't be able to complain as one person and have them listen straight away. So what can I do? What can we all do?

So this is what we have. We can do this. Every few weeks I'll re-post something like this until all the people that feel as I do start to snowball. I genuinely think there's a lot that do feel like this - enough so that I see it daily. So hopefully those people will make themselves heard too. If DE choose to fix this problem in its infancy, then nothing changes. The community is untouched. But, I worry before long it pits players against other players - not because they can't get along as people but because of something they can't change and feel powerless against. And yes, sometimes that's how it makes me feel about the game. It bothers me sometimes that I have to log on to hours of people doing the same thing that disrupts my down time. I shouldn't have to think "Oh here we go again" When I press ESC and see what people have equipped. I shouldn't have to consider thinking calm thoughts before the map even loads...

But. To those that DO like these weapons I apologise. But if you do like them, chances are you can probably see my complaint as part of the draw to them is their power or the way in which they are used? I don't know. I'd love to hear from you guys too.

I don't get. Why nerfing or removing weapons that does AoE damage, if their point is to be effective against hordes of mobs?

I get the point that it's out of control, but why punishing a category of weapons by nerfing or removing them?

Because, regrettably you can't rely on a community to fix the issue. So if something that is in the game itself is altered it forcibly fixes the issue. Removal is extreme - But Nerfing allows people to still have the weapon but it deters them from taking it into higher level content - content they should by that point have modded other weapons for.

I see this "hordes of mobs" argument has arisen in the last few comments. Correct me if I'm wrong but modifying automatic weapons for punch through both requires actual aim AND in the right hands does exactly the same thing? I mention this as raising the skill cap was also part of my argument.

  3. AoE sweeping weapons. No. Please stop.

I'm tired of it now. I'll open with observed circumstance I guess:
So I line up kills to enhance Warframe abilities or w/e else and someone with an Ignis jumps over my head and just nukes my targets, turns round and runs past me. I ask them not to - they continue to do it. Join another party and get hit with the same nonsense over and over and over again. It renders certain warframes useless or just frustrating to use in parties. It's the same with certain warframe abilities - people mod for max range and strength and then just spam. Ask them to stop, they don't even bother to answer you in some cases.

Is this just low level? Does this happen in sorties too? Yes - yes it does. And it's even more infuriating when it's an assassination mission like Tyl Regor and the one hit you get to land on mobs that spawn is one tick of electricity before they disappear only having to wait until they reappear, you ask the person to stop, you get no response and they just keep doing it... The mission then takes 3 to four times longer than needed.
I ended up soloing sortie Sargas Ruk last week because no one in the party had any idea what they were doing and were all packing AoE weapons - they just stood in front of him with the trigger held till they all died. And yes, I stood back and watched them, just out of sheer disbelief. AoE weapons are making an already simple game into something faceroll to the point where if people have done something before, or rather someone else has done it for them - Screw it bring AoE.

IMHO the Ignis, Amprex, Phantasm - weapons like these... they have no place in the game, that or they need a serious nerf. And I'm waiting for those to step forward to tell me it helps farm "X" because you can switch off to it. And my argument is to this that you are "Optimising" something that bores you in a manner that inadvertently takes the fun out of it for someone else. And if you're bored of playing the game or aspects of it, then why the hell are you playing it? I play the game because I enjoy the game. I especially enjoy it through the various dichotomies that arise from varied gear sets in parties. But when you join yet another Meso survival with people only ready to go for  5-10 minutes in full on spam mode it gets old really fast... I play the game because I want to play it. I play all of the content in the game I can because it all serves a purpose, be it gaining platinum or finding / farming mods I don't have yet or daily sorties for that added boost.

I hate the fact that a full party is also needed for maximising the efficiency of that person's farm. At that point they are literally using other people. They need more mobs for more loot and don't care how it happens. Party leaves, fine just get another party and do the same to them - rinse and repeat. This is not healthy for the game. I do put this on to you DE and feel that a reasonable option is allowing for a solo mode "Hell" option. One where you can enter and the game know it's one person but have the area set to maximum spawn rate on enemies from minute one.

Do I get to say what is considered "Fun" to those people? No. No I do not. Do I get to add grievance to an issue I feel is only getting worse as time goes on? Yes. Yes I do. The game is plenty of fun without being able to hold Left Click and running circles on your mouse mat. My speculation for a solution to all of this, is that the game loses absolutely nothing from toning back AoE based weaponry and abilities. So many times has it been said that the games fluid movement system and speed are it's biggest draws, I fail to see where giving people the option to stand still and spam one thing and profit helps or showcases that system. Also, I have tried to do this where I essentially look for a group, but having to do this for every group I want to join? Be reasonable?

This next part is pre-emptive because I'm old enough to know what some people think is an acceptable answer, and I'm sorry for how it may come across. But it needs to be blunt:
If you advise me to play solo because you do the above, maybe you are totally missing the point of playing an online party based game.

I appreciate any input or the sharing of opinions. I won't waste my time running in circles with people that try to be inflammatory [no pun intended Ignis...]. I just would like to know if it's just me that feels this way. Is AoE getting out of control? Is it becoming an issue where players are taking an easy option over ignoring core functions of the game? Please, give me your input.

Run Warframe in windowed mode, open cmd and do: ping -t google.com  (ctrl+C to stop later)  Any ping spikes or some dropped pings especially while entering navigation in Warframe? Those probems are probably your network problem. If using wireless, try to switch to wired ethernet if possible. USB ethernet adapter can be used if needed. If there is no ping drops or spikes, the problem might be overloaded internet connection path to servers or the server itself.

    No ping drops at all:

Reply from 216.58.213.78: Bytes=32 Time=11-19ms [Small spike while loading mission on Lander loading screen] TTL:56

Remained constant the entire time. Tested over a few hours with large freezes accounted for.

My PC has and always will be wired 😉

  5. il y a 18 minutes, sam686 a dit :

Press ESC, set it to solo mode, then enter navigation. No more enter navigation freezes? If there is no freezes in solo mode, this is a network connection problem. Game does not need to waste time to create online session when in solo mode.

Edit: It might be the servers can get overloaded, mostly from the Nintendo Switch Warframe launch.

It doesn't affect me in solo mode, sorry I forgot to mention that above. What would you possibly recommend at this point. However when checking my network ping it is 1ms and confirms it's connection in less than that time. My ping to my ISP and local speed servers is 30ms or less and holds at 64ms in latency or less to the game.

*** Flushed my DNS, this seems to have helped a little.

  6. Whenever I go to use the Navigation console in my Orbiter, my game freezes from anywhere between four or five seconds to anything up to a minute or two.

My PC runs the game fine and did run it fine @ 59.94fps [ monitor locked ] at maximum settings with no frame drop until Fortuna was upon us. It uses less than 30% of my systems combined resources when doing so. And still continues this trend, when running properly between freezes. So I feel this is not a problem my end.

I recently forwarded all ports necessary on my router to hopefully accommodate a possible communications issue with uPnP. I can only assume this is not the cause either as with either uPnP or Ports enabled it continues.

I have absolutely no idea what to do here. The game freezes then black screens up on tabbing out but then does return providing I wait.
I have found this also occurs when forming a party / Inviting other people to form a group. More than mildly frustrating to say the least.

My assumption is that this is a possible server issue since the traffic on the servers has increased again since Fortuna's launch and this is causing enough of an issue to keep causing peoples log in log out problems and in my case session creation problems. But for me to have this theory hold any weight I'd like to know if other people are experiencing the same or if somebody out there knows more than I do about what this may be.

*** As a small edit, changing graphic settings have absolutely zero effect on this and I have also used the launcher to check and optimize my game files.

    Thanks in advance,
    ¬ Astro.

  7. I spent the best part of an hour last night sitting with my router settings and forwarding the ports needed through my firewall and setting things up so Warframe had all the network access it needs outside of uPnP settings.

I did this as since Fortuna has gone live, everytime I click my navigation console the game either stutters or freezes for anything ranging between 5 seconds and one minute. It has never done this before now. I can only assume this has something to do with my clicking on Navigation creating a Game session or a Party preemptively before me starting a mission. I make this assumption on the grounds that if I set my profile to Solo play I experience exactly zero problems again. I also see direct correlation between Fortuna being release and a MASSIVE increase in player volume as before now, Baro would cause junctions to rise anywhere between 5 to 20 lobbies and Cetus / Plains would hover around that mark too at its busiest. But since "Fortuna", Fortuna / Orb Valis numbers have quadrupled those lobby amounts and clearly with that increase so have all other nodes in the system. Am I wrong here? Is there more I can do? Or is it that DE need to up the servers again to house us all?

Any suggestions or help is welcome, please ask what you will or tell me what you need. Thank you ❤️

  8. This will be a wall of text. I apologise for this in advance, but I will try to be as clear and concise as possible.
I do expect that some people will either not care for or will strongly disagree with this to point of argument, I am not here to argue, only question things from a player's standing. My own standing. I will start this by addressing directly what I perceive to be the issue, how I feel it affects our player base beyond myself, why I feel this is part of a larger issue and what I feel is a solution. By all means, please question my solution. But where my perspective and circumstance is ignored, I will only do the same in return as understanding how I see this as an individual is key to the points that I am making. Thanks for taking the time to read what I have to say in full and taking my perspective into account.

    Me:
I am in my mid thirties, have played games my entire life, believe that gaming is a large part of who I am and have played online games since it was possible through IRC text based gaming and later found a love for party based, dungeon format online multiplayer games through games like Phantasy Star Online and World of Warcraft. I am obviously more than this, but these things I believe are what is relevant.

My ethos for online and group play:
Inclusion is key. No matter the skill level, no matter the age. Always communicate in a way everyone understands and only move forward as fast as your slowest moving person allows. Learn and play together.

The perceived problem and how it conflicts with my way of playing and why this is relevant to this forum:
We all like to play online games. We all like this game. But I feel a core part of the game is being homogenized and is being pushed through a play dough mould at the expense of community spirit and enjoyment of the game. Be it Defense missions, Excavation missions or to be honest all low level missions on the star chart, there is an issue with higher MR players, certain Aura's and abilities and exploitation of these things for the sake of convenience for that one player. That one player greatly affects gameplay and the experience for entire group.
My wording of this issue has previously been inflammatory, in game and previous posts, and I will refrain from wording things in that manner again as people have previously stalled on my sarcasm and missed the larger point I was trying to make. That was my error.

    Example:
Player "A" is of mid to high MR, has access to most weapons, has a multiple forma'd Warframe, like Banshee for instance [and more than Banshee are capable of this], and has high potential for Aura'd damage and reach extended AoE.
And players B,C and D are either low MR or playing more niche tunneled Warframes, for either fun, necessity or learning purposes.

All players join a mission on one of the first planets on the star chart.

Players B,C and D are there to have fun, learn or need to be there to further progress in the game. One thing ties these players together and that is the want of playing the game in a party to fulfill the need of being in a situation that allows them to play together.

Player A on the other hand is there for the sake of being bored or need of farming resource "X". Player A has no interest in the other players of the group and is only using larger party numbers to spawn more enemies to AoE down to greater increase odds of resource "X" dropping. Or in the case of being bored, Player A wants to press a button and watch numbers fly around his or her screen, further fulfilling their need to feel like they have progressed or whatever motivation they have to do so.

Player A decimates any and all things in the immediate and distant area. Killing anything other Players had CC'd to combo through their Warframes core playstyle, Killing things within other's crosshairs, killing things other Players were making their way towards. Players B,C and D are now put into a position of minimal interaction. They are now placed into what some people have accurately dubbed "Waiting Simulator" where the waiting is for the mission to end.
Player A is having fun. Player A is doing everything they wanted. Players B, C and D however:

Player B thinks this is cool. Player B is getting what he or she considers free loot and a free ride. It's the first time they have ever seen anything like this as they are new to the game and Player B looks at Player A as part of Player B's new definition of what the meta game of Warframe can look like, and it looks like raw power as Player B has no end game perspective. Who knew Warframes could have so much power!?

Player C on the other hand had just waited 72 hours to pull their new Warframe off of the Foundry table. Player C is on a low level map to test their first ability and to get a feel for what the warframe does. They joined a group as they were unsure of their new Warframe and if they could handle it right. They joined a group in the hope, consciously or subconsciously of one of the other players playing the same Warframe and they can learn through osmosis. But Player A is killing everything. Player C is learning nothing and Player C starts to roll their eyes. He/She has seen this all before and really wished it wasn't happening now... Why is Player A even here? What a waste of time...

Player D came to relax and shoot a few things down. Maybe even talk to the group a little as he/she is aware that B and C are new[ish] players. Maybe wanted to help them out a little. Player D loves to hang out and wait for an opportunity to share what they know and be social. Make friends and build bridges. Player D gets a kick from helping out and likes to have time to flex their knowledge. Player D is actively annoyed. Player D is watching B and C try kill things and scramble round while Player A keeps spamming the same ability. Player D senses unrest in the group and in many cases watches other Players quit groups like this... Wait, there goes Player C now...

Now we also have Player E. And player E was not used in this example mainly as I have never been in Player E's shoes, well that and parties only allow 4 members... Player E just doesn't seem to care for or against. They don't see an issue or a benefit. And seriously, more power to Player E. But sadly I have spoken to a fair few Player E's that feel it's okay to tell Players A B C and D that whatever parts of of how they feel are wrong. And sadly some Player E's further that by saying that Players A B C and D should become more like Player E. What these select Player E's don't get sadly is that we can't help what kind of Player we are.
With that said... I, if you haven't worked it out yet, I am Players B C and D or at least have been at different points of my Warframe journey. Hell, I have been Players B C and D in multiple MMO's and other online games.

And the issue is, as a person I can understand the motivations of Player A and wish to some extent I could be like like Player E. But ultimately I reside as a Player D and will never be able to embrace those motivations. The world is full of personalities and these are but a few and I'm guessing even if I used all the letters in the English alphabet I wouldn't have enough labels.
But further to all this, even if I can't get a real feeling for their motivations, I can feel the direct impact of their behaviour - specifically Player A's in this case. Asking for the locking out of abilities, aura's etc. in group play at certain levels would be too convoluted, I get that. But there could be an easier solution [I say easier, it seems easier from my perspective].

    A possible solution:
Okay so I have very specific feelings and questions being a Player D. And many A's and E's tell me I should actively seek parties in chat and in Discord servers. And I get that. But then comes the question of why should anyone's behaviour be doctored to such an amount? Why should I have to spend time not playing the game through other media ultimately trying to play the game? Why should Player A not have to do the same? Why is it okay to essentially be antisocial within a social session by making everyone else play "Waiting Simulator" but the person who wants to be social and joins groups to be social is trumped by the person being antisocial?
Player A's motivations are somewhat selfish as for the most part it involves them seeing numbers and personal testing OR grinding for material that they themselves need. They don't care how, they just need to be efficient, and the best way is to kill more things and to get more things, is to join larger parties to initiate the maximum spawn rates of enemies. I don't hate the Player, I disagree with them to a degree but my focus is the structure of the game.

Why not have a group option under the current "Solo" "Public" "Friends Only" and "Invite Only" that assists in removing Player A from B C and D's groups and allows them to carry on and ultimately helps Player A out to maximum effect? Why not have a "Solo Challenge Mode" or something where the map will have a spawn rate equal to a maxed out party, and will follow the parameters of that current map nodes levels and loot? That way Player A can farm or test numbers under real play circumstances and be rewarded for success and it not be as plain or sterile as using The Simulacrum.

I mean this of course is just a thought from my end as ultimately I want to play with people that want active and social groups. I saw the degradation in World of Warcraft where over geared fools would pull trains of enemies in dungeons as a DPS role and then blame others for their shortfall when it would cause group wipes... In the long run I must have spent literal days having to deal with idiots like that. In Phantasy Star Online people would do silly things like that and other players would collect the dead Players weapon and money and could have a legitimate form of negotiation on how things would play out after that, forcing social interaction for the benefit of a group. I mean these examples aren't this game, but what I'm saying is that there bad and good ways of doing things, but any way that makes people be social in an online game is a good way. Giving Player A more options allows all other Players of a higher chance to meet people like them without spending exorbitant amounts of time or 3rd party applications to do so. Currently any discussion mounted with Player A is typically met with animosity, a lack of caring or understanding, or in so many words "I'm doing this because I can and people do it to me when I don't like it so that makes it okay. What goes around comes around."... I personally think we can do better.

I've been Astronomicon and I thank you for your time ❤️

  9. il y a 2 minutes, (PS4)Chris_Robet a dit :

Yes please let's have more Ember type nerfs.

If you're in a pug then expect people to be using op setups. Most people want to finish a mission quick so they can get their reward and go. If you want to take your time and dilly dally around then go into a solo mission and do that instead of being rude to the VAST majority of the community that just wants to finish missions and get out without having to wait for that one guy who takes forever to get to the objective.

Really starting to question if people that choose to comment on the point I'm making actually understand it.

The vast majority? Do you have founded numbers on that, especially at low MR?
In your own opening statement, as with Eminem's, you both explain that people doing this have no interest in what the other players are doing in a roundabout way. So maybe group play isn't for them? Maybe they should have some consideration and Solo?

My point if it has to be spelled out at this point is that multiplayer online games with market places, regional chats and co-operative grouping are about, and this not an opinion, a sense of community spirit. Either not caring and spamming through a mission or the other example you've just given of "The Speed Runner" where they aim to complete an Obj. as fast as possible and hit the end zone yet they are "having to wait for that one guy" are both anti-social types of play. That type of play only focus' on what you are doing as an individual, so therefore you may as well solo. I mean really? How do you not get that? You have expectancy on how everyone in the group should deal with what you as an individual want to do - Yet in my example I queue with the purpose of assisting the group and I'm made out to be the person in the wrong here? There is no right or wrong, only consideration. And those that do those types of things are inconsiderate anti social P.O.S's. That is my opinion. But with that opinion comes a sad social crux, one where the person intending on using the grouping system for what it's for is actually the person not being catered for. So, as the title of the post implies, systems that allow an individual to take away the options for others to play at the press of a key can be and only are bad for a group experience. The person spamming one ability or killing things without moving isn't showing any skill but is preventing others from learning. Others that the particular content in question is intended for - Low MR players, as I can only imagine lax play styles like this only lead to death and/or failure on high end content... And if you can just spam to win in the end game it really isn't much of a "Game" now is it?

  10. à l’instant, (XB1)Eminem2420 a dit :

That person is not being "anti-social" or "rude." All that happened is that they annoyed you. It happens when you go into pug. They can use whatever gear they want, whether you like it or not. Likewise, you can use whatever you want.

Thanks for totally missing the point. I can't really begin to assess the " If everyone does it, that means it's okay " nature of your response. It's clearly ingrained in you and I can't change that. I'm not annoyed, that's an assumption on your end. I used humour, or at least tried to in my OP. I'm not angry at it, it's just sad that people can claim to be about community and then take away experiences from the same community they claim to love. It's really not anger, it's disappointment in my fellow man, a feeling that's becoming all too familiar.

  11. il y a 1 minute, (XB1)Eminem2420 a dit :

That MR 23 has probably put thousands upon thousands of hours into his/her gear. They have most likely have a loadout built for endgame content, so it is obviously going to be considered OP at low levels. The difficulty lies in making things viable in endgame while keeping it from breaking the game at lower levels. I really don't think the answer is to force that person that is annoying you into a solo que. Why should their play style be penalized while yours is not? Because it annoys you? That really is not justification for discriminating against that MR 23 person.

Exactly the sort of response I expected. I want no penalisation. If they are OP with the mods and have spent thousands of hours, surely they have other gear and can use it in group without harming others experience. I gave my perspective, but I see it affects others even when I'm in game, so I slow my pace and wait for the others to pick things up. If they don't I keep the pace down. If I can do that after only a hundred hours, how is it insane to think someone better at the game / more experienced could do the same?

Fact is by solo queueing the MR23 loses nothing - they still ROFLSTOMP content and get what they were farming. But guess what - they aren't just making others sit and watch him or her play for ten minutes and those that joined a group to play as a group gain everything.

At worst that sort of behavior is anti-social at best it's rude AF.

  12. I'm clearly not new. However I have not spent nearly as much time as some other people in this game. This is however, my first serious forum post. So firstly Hi to my fellow Operators.
Greetings over and done with I'd like to expand on my feelings and the no doubt click baity title of this post.

So my few months of experience in the game have taught me that playing in groups that interact with each other is fun. Playing with people of equal to and higher skill levels is fun. And trying to help new players is also... wait for it... Dismal, sorry, I mean FUN.
Know what I don't think is fun? Standing around doing absolutely nothing as someone or multiple someone's on our party have max range mods and spam AoE decimating entire tilesets, or better yet has a passive Aura that just nukes things. It's anti-social and degrades the entire experience. Okay so I don't like it, this is clearly opinion based and OFC the people doing this sort of thing love it right? They must do or why spend time doing it. And it isn't the place of an individual to sit and tell people they can't have fun in whatever it is they find fun, right?

    - BUT - ... and you knew I'd say "but"...

They have option of playing Solo. Just like we all do. So it's me that should feel pushed out to the point that I should play solo? No. No it really isn't. Why isn't it me that should play solo you ask? Because I WANT to participate. I want to be of use. I want to have ups and downs of success in missions due to group synergy and skill. I can't have any of those things playing Solo...
But you know who's experience changes by exactly 0% by playing Solo and performing in the aforementioned way? Have you guessed it yet? That's right folks, the person on auto pilot ROFL stomping the content they need for farming.
Now, I've given my perspective where I want to be part of a group. Why does that equate to this being bad for Warframe? Well, lemme give you my outsider perspective and how I felt when levelling and how I've perceived it affecting other people.

So an MR3 joins a group - He or She is fairly new, learning the ropes and is probably still learning the context or synergy of their Warframes abilities And/Or testing newly crafted weapons. In steps [ Cue Guiles " Rush of the Wind " theme... ] xXxChadBrozor666xXx at MR23 blinding the group that just set foot on Mars with his Mr.T levels of gold and accessories. Now does our boy Chad take a back seat and let the new guys find their feet? Nope... he proceeds to put the entire tileset into a washing machine and presses spin. What exactly did anyone gain from this? Other than a bad perception of endgame play and the chance to stroke their E-peen in front of the newly anointed.

I'm just going to say this. I haven't hit end level play, but I am really not looking forward to sifting through the Chads to find a decent Clan. Surely this is harmful? Surely if it puts taint on the game from early stages it can't be good can it?

I mean this is just my two cents - But I feel restriction of certain Aura's or mods on multiplayer groups can only be a good thing.
