  1. i don't agree with you on the premise of what's wrong with the whole riven system.

this topic is about my idea, for typical stat locking ideas there are older threads. you idea to lock not one but two stats which is not realistic as it trivializes riven rng completely so everyone will have the best rolls.

the problem is not about everyone not having the best possible rolls, it's about a vast majority of rivens being total rubbish due to merciless rng.

my idea makes it possible to start with a modest and cheap ++ negless riven with acceptable stats and to have a non trivial chance to build it up into something actually good.

but this should be very limited, and i'm against control over a riven's stats, i just want rivens to be more interactive and less raw lottery.

+++- riven configuration is the best one and there's conceptually no need to go back. being able to go back and forth means being able to effectively edit a riven's stats and that's not something i'm for.

  2. dual cleavers - light attack melee

"should i remove x  and build crit" - false dichotomy

"crit bulds" in general - no such thing in melee 3.0

your understanding of light attack melee builds - nonexistent

removal of co - nauseatingly bad idea

    justice blades - junk augment

vast majority of light attack melee rivens - unusable trash

your riven - in the same category

good melee stats on light attack melee riven - critical damage, attack speed, range

other stats on a light attack melee riven - garbage

good light attack melee mods - CO, BR, WW, berserker, primed reach, spring loaded blade, primed smite, toxin 60/60, cold 60/60

all the other melee mods for light attack weapons - garbage

Sure a 2nd PPP would be good, but using a riven just for that is a waste, I'd reroll it

rolling light attack melee rivens - big mistake

Seeing as both the "stats" and "technique" feedback threads are closed, I'm posting a new thead about melee's control changes again. I would have posted sooner to keep those two from being archived, but I was somewhat busy.

don't care if you're busy. put in the effort to write a quality post or don't waste my time

Melee 3.0 doesn't feel good, it doesn't look good, it causes a disconnect between my key inputs and the actions I do on-screen, and it just isn't the close combat I fell in love with.

vacuous generalized complaints that don't even start to form an argument of any kind

For the love of God, DE. Hear me out. I can't even leave my blasted house to take refuge in public libraries or a friend's house anymore.

worthless self-centered drama. what a waste of time.

I rather enjoyed being able to rampage through a horde of fascist planet-looting clone-Nazis; and most importantly, I liked to be able to rampage through the Grineer in a way that feels right.

vacuous and circular statement. "what i like is what feels right". sure. whatever. epic waste of time. just stop.

I have always been a melee-combat main, I used to love every single category of weapon in it, and Valkyr was my absolute fave.

    i don't care, not on-topic

I'd prefer that delight didn't remain in the past-tense for the foreseeable future. The catharsis of pure rampage as Valkyr has been missing for over two years now, and no matter how politely phrased, it feels like you just ignore players' feedback on how the VFX are painful and controls don't feel right.

    slowly devolving into unreadable drivel

I'm updating this tomorrow after a full night's rest, and I'm going to start with two major topics:

    truly pathetic

    Quote

    A) My discussions with other players, including several clan-mates, about our melee 3.0 frustrations. I've legitimately gotten more response from fellow Tenno in-game than I ever have from the development team about this matter, but I might as well share the alternative ways I've tried to phrase my irritation and sadness. Buried Debts turned melee bad, and then Old Blood added eight more monumental frustrations, while making half-effort attempts to "restore" manual blocking, and while yes, you lot at DE did FINALLY give us back Sword Alone mode so it actually feels like we're holding our weapons, at the present time it's ruined; because while you did restore it, you also jammed in an asinine, searing-bright flash that happens LITERALLY. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. THAT SOMEBODY DRAWS THEIR MELEE WEAPON.

the development team doesn't care about you. write in bold letters and do wacko italics and random word underlining as much as you like, this won't change. you are nothing to them. incoherence intensifies.

    Quote

Ahem. Anyway, as you can probably guess, these screenshots of the aforementioned discussions with other players have been self-censored for politeness to you as the development staff, but boy oh boy, am I at wit's end about melee combat.

ahem the "development staff" isn't reading this dreck

    B) The "improvements" to Stances, because they did anything but. Travel distances are non-existent; once-functional hitboxes are broken; status procs caused by Combos don't even match the main damage type of weapons anymore; and some of the coolest of players' all-time absolute favorite moves were removed for absolutely no reason, their stolen name now applied to an infinitely lamer, flailing wreck.

hodge podge of tiny complaints that don't even rise to a start of a analysis of what could be wrong with a major overhaul like melee 3.0

    Quote

I can't rightly articulate how awful Swirling TigerCrushing RuinFinal HarbingerMalicious Raptorand pretty much ALL of the Heavy Blade Stances now feel to use; but I sure as the Void am going to try.

you can't rightly articulate things, yes.

  4. they are quite unlikely to touch the draw speed for this reason:

compromising on this means that they dillute what it means for a weapon to be a kuva weapon.

    Heyo,

As of the past week I've had players in public lobbies (mostly) using the word "Gamer" as a negative connotation and got me curious.

Not sure how widespread this new concept of "Gamer" has become in game, but since I've started to see it in WF as of late (as least twice the past week) felt like I should bring this mind boggling issue to the forums and ask.

This new concept seems to have nothing to do with games and after a bit of research, it looks like it has become someway widespread among certain groups in the gaming/political areas. Mostly giving "Gamers" the same connotation as #$&(%/childish from my limited understanding of the language (not my first language).

Have any of you found something similar or were these still isolated incidents?

On a side note, I may post sources if asked, just trying to figure this new trend.

    Cheers

    gamers are losers

  6. more wishful thinking. we absolutely don't know what will happen with brammas' base stats. DE doesn't typically touch base stats unless something is seriously wrong with the weapon usually in a sense that it's old and powercreeped. no one in this thread has been able to put out a believable concept of how bramma's base stats might be nerfed.

when you say it's inevitable it means you have a way of knowing it will happen and that it's certain. when it's not.

you can have both simultaneously, but both require different Rivens. Prisma fills a decent role as an SMG (yes, I know it's classed as a rifle, but it's behavior is far more like a submachine gun, it's also rather compact compared to other rifles). persoanlly though I'd say it's more of a fun-time gun than anything serious: even if you feed it's insatiable appetite, that sheer rate of fire limits you to shotgun territory for any practical accuracy.

prisma grakata is the perfect rifle with a decent riven, that has literally everything going for it. it's not only serious it's in top5 most powerful guns in the game.
