  1. i wish they would have just fixed it to work as intended. Spent the last 10 years paying attention to tilesets and what effects occur at different locations only now to have the ability gutted on any frame its swapped to. Im not mad..... im just disappointed.

  2. Yeah I know RNG is RNG. I get it.

Anyways, Ive acquired 30 tome mods, 20 weapon pieces, and enough endo to rank up two primed mods.

Ive probably got more than 70 runs at this so far.... and mirror defense has to be the worst structured mission, but thats a different discussion.

Im in the >92% area for a "guaranteed" drop. Im just curious if anybody else is experiencing this issue as well.

I keep pointing out that there’s more to this game than what players are doing to make it a problem for themselves. That the game is already designed from the ground up to facilitate more than what they are doing to ruin themselves.

It can always do with some balancing adjustments, but not necessarily in the way they want because they want to keep taking the components and arranging them into problems regardless of what they are and the balance has to come from the bottom and cascade upwards instead of being addressed from the top first because the bottom is the most fundamental and covers every level we take our builds to. The same components get used elsewhere for alternative purposes that are decidedly not problematic whether players take advantage of that or not. We’re not stuck in the highest level content because the game is designed to allow for more than that and still let us progress in obtaining even more options to use. I can use what they are and then stop using it when I’m either not doing that content or get bored. Yes my build can go so far, and then to go further requires potentially altering it, but… it’s… to go into the content that requires it, which rewards alternative rewards and facilitates making alternative builds, or to alter how it gets used in the content I’m currently doing.

@Drasiel seems to be under the impression that the very ways to build and play that follow the design of the game and work with it instead of just turning it off are not worth considering and that the Meta is what’s important when the Meta is the outlier result of so many systems interacting in so many ways. I think the information part is what DE should look at, but then tacked onto that information is a call to action from the perspective of “Focus on the Meta, and the game will sort itself out”, which it won’t

Yeah, I get it. You think low tier should take priority over high tier. The problem is, the current system breaks low tier content anyways, even with only access to low tier equipment.

Again, the fact that you choose not to utilize that kind of build is irrelevant.

I wouldnt hold my breath though anyways. I dont see DE changing the damage system again anytime soon.

When the build sits in content that’s still worth doing and performs according to desires to the point that even if I did have capacity leftover, any mods inserted would basically be just to take up space while augmenting the way the weapon performs?

What am I gonna do with your 8-slot build? Invest in time and Forma to… pull the trigger and delete the gameplay outside of point and click for the content I’m doing?

Now if I was going higher, sure, I may build like that because the content needs more damage just to break even. Some of those mods will straight up augment how the thing can perform like multishot. I may even use your “Proper” build in content that needs it.

But I’m not doing that content, am I? And I’m not concerned only with damage, am I?

edit: Hell, at times maybe I would feel like deleting everything with a click and just take the build made for higher-level content lower. But that’s not this time

Ive been reading this for a while.... and im thoroughly convinced you are arguing for the sake of arguing.

Yes, changing the meta will change your builds. Trickle down effect. This is going to happen no matter what happens in the game.

I myself am very anti-meta. I like to use obscure weapons and generic mod combos and play at very high level content. Like enemy levels with 4 digits.

But heres the truth, and the concept you seem to be ignoring. Just because YOU use limited builds does not change the overwhelming build potential vs majority content.

Warframe in general has an enormous problem with power creep. As you've stated, your limited builds are already enough to deal with majority star map content. Then, adding just a couple more mods as drasiel has shown, and all of a sudden we're roflstomping through everything. The builds dont even have to be meta. You can do non-meta builds and still delete everything.

What Drasiel has clearly outlined here, is that status is merely one aspect of the larger picture of the damage system, and the issues that exist within it. Whether you partake in it or not is irrelevant.

  5. Conclave failed because DE insisted on trying to nerf skill, rather than fix what was wrong with conclave.

The first version of conclave was awesome. Was there some OP stuff? sure, but most of it was great.

The second version was just dumbed down to the current loadout.

Then they nerfed movement because players complained they couldnt hit other players who mastered the parkour system.

and it just kept getting worse from there. Now its just stupid, and nobody plays.

I disagree with this part. Power creep is fine, so long as enemies can creep along with you. That's what creates a sense of progression with the players.

But thats not what has happened here. For the last 6 years, armor/health/shield scaling has remained untouched right up until this very last mainline update. On top of that, we've been so incredibly overpowered for years. You can take any weapon in the game, invest some forma, and do decently well in sorties or whatever else. In fact ive been leveling brand new weapons on railjack veil missions simply looking for something challenging.

What you are describing is also a false sense of progression. The ONLY thing progressing is the player's equipment, not the player. There is no incentive to progress the player in this game whatsoever. Out of 28 mastery tests, maybe 4 were decently challenging. The rest of them are literally mastery of nothing.  These things have been complaints for years. In the end, they continuously make changes to make things even easier.

The Grendel missions are a perfect example. Strip a player down to nothing but their knowledge and skill of the game.... well, we all saw what happened there.

  7. You are not even close. None of it even matters. Ive been around here a LONG time and have seen this game and community go through many phases and changes.

Ultimately, decisions come down to a single bottom line: Money.

Its really that simple. Over the years all of the content is developed with the new player in view because new players are the ones that spend all the money. Look at railjack for example. It was released with the veteran player in mind, and look what happened. Cost was cut to a fraction and refunded specifically to attract the new players' partcipation because they needed the money from the new playerbase.

Power creep is also a huge problem, but feeds the hungry money monster. Players think a new weapon is so awesome because its so powerful.... result from power creep. Here we are years later and the game is a cake walk. There is no difficulty in this game. If anything, the opposite of nerfs are more common. Now look at the new changes. All the enemies were really made easier. Skill and effort are not required to play this game anymore... what little there was to begin with.

This very community forums are to blame really... the loudest most vocal players get the most attention. They also outnumber everybody and can be considered the majority.... which are the larger pool of money spent, therefore holding more stock. The majority of people want to just spam 4 and whatever weapons and blow everything up with mirage and bramma or whatever else. But those are the people paying DE's light bill, and DE/sumpo fried chicken want to get paid.

We used to have something called "community challenges" a few years back. They would be released along with the gift of the lotus after dev streams. The GOTL was easy like normal, then you had a community challenge that was created by the community... and it was HARD. Well, it was supposed to be. But anyways, people whined and cried so loud that they couldnt do it and it was so unfair blah blah blah..... DE shut it down and stopped doing the challenges all together. DE say they do things in the name of balance, but i laugh every time.

So dont worry. You'll see your catchmoon get buffed again eventually.

They're still in there.  Six in each series,  three in both intermissions.

I think it could stand to be more though. In the current intermission especially, they would have made decent alternate rewards for some of the duplicated stuff from previous series.

ah yes i forgot about the procedural rewards. I still think they should be added as a cred purchase. Maybe one for 50 cred or something.

"We need more because we actively don't choose to get them."

Im all for people taking responsibility for their actions, or lack of. However, you are missing my point... which is that the demand for forma has increased, while the supply of forma has decreased.

Allow me to explain again. In the old system, 4 people ran 4 separate tower keys in an attempt to acquire a prime part, known as a keyshare. You could have potentially acquired 4 forma having only burned one personal key. The system now, requires you to burn a relic every time you need something... let alone 4 forma. This source has clearly become more expensive with less return. Plus you have 3 core game systems that are dependent on the relic system: Mastery, upgrades, void trader. All three require heavy investment and can make the choice of reward very hard.

The only relics that are exempt from the above are the new requiem relics which are redundant since the rare reward can be obtained from the syndicate system. One possible solution is to replace weapon exilus with forma on those relics.

Forma also used to be in alerts . I could set my phone, and get an alert when a forma popped up. All I had to do was log on and get it. Alerts have since been replaced with the nightwave system. Not only are alerts gone, but forma was removed from the nightwave rewards as well. This source is obviously gone, so at this point, its fair to say the supply has been reduced.

Add in the new kuva weapons, which are a huge forma investment, weapon exilus/umbral forma/aura forma all requiring 1/2 forma to build, it should be fair to say that the demand for forma has increased.

All OP is saying is that it needs to be looked at, and i think there is enough evidence to say that thats reasonable.

I've been playing since the same time and I've never had to, or felt I had to farm forma nor have I purchased any.  I've min-maxed every piece of unique gear (Primes, Prismas, Mara, Wraith, Vandal etc, even ones I don't use), have min-maxed every Warframe and then the Prime variant of each, have put the 5 forma into every +10 rank item apart from 3 Kuva Weapons I don't have.  I have min-maxed 3 of my Archwings and 5 Archwing Weapons.  I have 6 forma in each of my Kavats and Kubrows as well as around 10 forma between my sentinels, and I have have even put 3 forma into my K-Drive for goodness sake.  I've built a fully kitted out Dojo (1 of each lab, all of the halls, 6 large gardens, 2 small gardens, 2 duel rooms, 3 inspiration halls, 3 elevators, 3 obstacle courses, a trophy room, Crimson Branch, observatory and a dry dock, 30-40 reactors and 20-30 connectors) 95% purely with my own resources (I think maybe 3 forma were contributed by someone else really early on).  And I'm currently sitting on 75 built forma.

And honestly if you're waiting for forma to build before you're able to install any in new gear then there was almost definitely times where you had a forma bp and just didn't bother crafting it.  Forma is fine where it is and to move it into more areas as a reward would only serve to annoy many of us who see a forma reward as the equivalent of a 5,000 credit cache reward.

before these kuva weapons, i was sitting on 100+ bps, and maintained 30 built forma. Any veteran knows where the majority of them came from.

The old tower keys didnt give you a choice of reward, but you could farm the crap out of the endless missions. You got what you got, and running 1hr+ survivals on T3/T4 keys would reward you with a handful of forma on 1 key.

That system has changed now to the new relic system. Granted you have a choice in the reward, but between the need for ducats, and prime parts for anybody who isnt a veteran... forma can easily be passed up for the rarer items.

At the very least, I think forma should be in nightwave rewards alongside the reactors and catalysts.

Is the Gift of the Lotus Alert for a Solstice holiday skin: "Defeat your Lich"?

    No, it's not.

You shouldn't have rewards stolen from alerts, events, the Index, etc. It's astounding that these issues are left in the game when the Old Blood was released in November.

The objective of the mission also isnt "activate your lich and ignore it with no consequence".

This particular instance aside, under normal circumstances you assume the consequences when you activate a new lich.

I agree that not everything should be open to theft, but the player has to take SOME responsibility in the risk. Its a minor inconvenience at best, especially for a completely cosmetic item. Yeah it sucks.... but at least its easily retrieved.

Even worse is it was in survival... I had to spam 20 health pads standing in extraction so we didn't fail the entire mission.  2 guys kept reviving eachother only to keep dying.  Eventually air ran out because everybody is focused on reviving eachother over and over  - this lasted some 2-3 minutes beyond the air running out when clearly they had no chance of getting even 1 stab in on the Lich.

The only reason I had to spam health pads was to survive the automatic health drain from the air running out.  It was AFTER the 5 minute mark, not before like you are lying and saying.

Im simply going by the order of events that you posted above. Your statement suggests that air ran out after you were spamming health pads. Im not lying, you just cant get your story straight.

Yeah except his lich showed up in the last 30 seconds

So you are telling me for the rest of the entire mission that guy had no issues going down at all? You mean to tell me there was no sign at all that he couldnt handle his rank 0 frame? Are you seriously saying that all this mess went down in the span of 30 seconds before you decided to evac and that you had to spam health pods for 3 min after?

You know air supply takes a little while to drain out after time is up. if the last 30s were the issue, what were you doing for the other 4m30s of the time?

I'm sorry but somebody with a whopping 100 health and 100 shields is always going to struggle against a max rank lich... the idea that this would only happen to somebody who powerlevelled to 27 is a farce.

No, that only happens to somebody who didnt put on redirection or vitality. both mods will net you on average 500/500 even at rank 0. More than survivable. Dont punish other players just because that guy was being stupid.

    On 2019-12-01 at 9:24 PM, (PS4)Zuzu_with_a_Z said:

I wasn't in above my head, I know how to play this game and despite that BS I'm the only reason any of us finished the mission and got rewards.

How come you didnt just clear the enemies, down the lich, and rez the guy so he could stab it? Not enough time to rez? Vazarin school has an instant rez ability. Too much damage? Operator invisibility is a thing.

Never enter a public game if you arent willing or able to carry 3 other random players. If you have to rely on the strength of the whole team to complete the mission, you should probably start with an organized group.

These are not mental gymnastics. Its a simple difference in experience and skill. The ONLY reason im going down this path with you is because instead of addressing your own shortcomings first, you would rather come to the forums and demand changes over a situation that a lot of us would not have struggled with.

But you werent in above your head because you know how to play this game, so nobody else would have been able to do it any better than you. Therefore, lets make changes to the game that affect 50 million registered users.

Please dont misunderstand either. Im not trying to troll you. Normally i would invite you to come spend some time with my guys/gals, but unfortunately you are on ps4. There is always something new to learn even if you have 4000+ hours in mission time, myself included. I would always suggest seeking out higher level players to see if i could have done something different before i come here and recommend restrictions. Restrictions are rarely the correct path forward.

  13. I disagree with a rank 30 limit. Players who didnt speed level all their weapons on viver/draco/bere tend to not have issues with lvl 100 enemies even with a rank 0 frame.

Admittedly I have not had the opportunity to do this as I have no need to level a frame right now, however I also dont mind other people doing it. I simply give them the 3 strike rule. After 3 downs, im not helping them up. Same goes for people running obvious meta builds who have no idea what they are doing.

Then again, you were having to spam health pods like crazy to stay alive before 5 min into the mission. It sounds to me like everybody in that group was in a little over their heads. In your case, I probably would have simply quit the mission, and started the mission over once I saw what that person was doing. When you quit a mission or leave squad, the game will not allow you to rejoin the same group on the follow up search for open missions.

You simply chose to stay in that mission and put up with the mess, then came to the forums to complain about your choice. Easiest thing to do is leave the mission and let them deal with their own choices. Eventually they'll stop doing it when nobody is there to help them. On top of that, lich survivals are 5 min..... it should take you less than 60s to figure out whats going on, so time wasted is super minimal.

Its never worked for me bro. Actually quite a few of us are still having the issue. We've been relying on the drops from the enemies while revealing cards

  15. I agree! Throwing the glaive is all wrong now. Especially while dual wielding with a pistol.

Please return heavy attacks to melee hold and simply adjust timing. Right now its making duel wielding too complicated during combat

Eh, idk whether I would applaud difficulty engaged by throwing out my years of investment.

Now this touches on something really important too. As much as I enjoyed the missions, it really brings to light how far power creep has reached in this game. NOTHING is hard anymore... and the only way for DE to actually create a challenge is by stripping us of all our equipment

I really feel theres a deeper discussion to be had hiding underneath all the whining about how hard these missions are. We've been warning DE about the power creep for years... but I understand they made financially smart decisions. There is nobody to blame but ourselves here.
