  1. I found out that Garuda received some QoL improvements a few months ago while I was taking a break from the game and I am curious to see how Garuda is currently performing against all the content that the game has now. Have there been any notable changes to how people mod her? I would suspect that strength and duration are the main focus with range and efficiency being more of a personal preference so you could mod towards one or the other. I wouldn't also be surprised that Quick Thinking and Rage/Hunter Adrenaline are still used because that would make her pretty much immortal as long as you have energy and are able to deal with any energy-draining enemies.

With that said, what builds are people running on Garuda now and can she last a long time in higher-level missions, like 1 hour arbitration and so on?

  2. I have lately been considering getting duplicates of certain Warframes that I really enjoy playing with. If I want an Umbra build for a certain Warframe, it may prevent me from being able to use certain mods due to mod capacity limitations or I may just end up not having enough room for other mods that can also be beneficial. I have been trying to learn how to properly min/max builds for endurance runs to better support a team based on certain missions instead of using typical builds where all stats are evened out.

With this in mind, should I make duplicates of Warframes I really like to experiment with builds, maybe have one for things like endless missions and have another one with fun builds that are not meta but can still be used anywhere at any time?

  3. TLDR is at the bottom, but I highly suggest reading this post.

I recently noticed a big thread in the general section of the forums where people are discussing about nerfing Warframes, buffing AI, or doing something to bring challenge to the game instead of keeping it as a "mindless" run and gun, press 4 to nuke, afk type of game.

Simply making the AI deal more damage, tank more hits, and swarm the player is not enough and just artificially makes the game difficult without actually making it engaging. I have lately been trying to get into endless missions like defense and survival to see how far I can go with some of the builds I have for my weapons and Warframes. I noticed, for instance in Arbitration, sooner or later, you end up having to deal with an endless wave of enemies that start blocking rooms and making the whole map very crowded, to the point that your team or if you are solo'ing, have to find a spot where you are relatively safe to try and go as far as possible. Even then you will eventually end up being overrun. Perhaps there are some ways to go about these endless missions where you don't have to worry about a swarm, but that is another discussion for another time.

Warframes are powerful, but that is the whole point behind Warframes. Simply crying "nerf this" or "nerf that" won't really do much good because then you will have people complaining about how they invested a lot into builds and now those builds are useless. All this would also do is have people look for a new meta and the whole process of "nerf this" or "buff that" will begin again.

I remember when I first started Warframe back in 2013, things were a lot more challenging and difficult, even after you got upgrades, you still had to be careful. With the stamina system, there was a check on how much you can dodge and parkour until you ended up draining your stamina. Enemies did not swarm you as much, but you still had to be careful and approach engagements differently depending on situations. Sometimes going stealth was a better option, other times, running and gunning was necessary. Now, Warframe, in terms of combat, is nothing more than press a button to win and move on, and even though I personally prefer fighting enemies directly and using abilities to give myself a boost, everything eventually "boils down to press a button to win" so you can clear out the enemies once things get too crowded.

So, here is what I have been thinking.

In the earlier levels, enemies should be relatively easy for new players to help them get an idea on how the game works. Enemies that are like regular soldiers, say for instance, the Corpus Crewman or the Grineer Lancer should be relatively easy to deal with. Those that have extra mechanics like Shield Lancers should also not be difficult to deal with and should mostly come with standard offensive and defensive capabilities. As players progress towards medium level content, players should start encountering more specialized units like Bombards, Corpus Tech, or once in a while, a group of Eximus units. The AI should still utilize standard offensive and defensive capabilities like we have now, but should also be given ways to spice things up, so to speak.

For instance, a Grineer Trooper or a Corpus Crewman, once they realize they cannot fight a Warframe with their default weapons should resort to methods that would at least keep the Warframe from being able to directly engage them. Think of perhaps a Grineer or a Crewman deploying a personal shield that can protect them from incoming fire and certain Warframe abilities. Perhaps the enemies can have defensive measures designed to counteract a Warframe's first and second ability at this stage.

Let's take Saryn for a moment. Saryn attempts to infect an enemy unit with spores, but the AI is realizing that the Warframe is not going to be easily taken down with simple tactics and that it may need to go more on the defensive to protect itself from danger. It deploys a shield that blocks the spores from being able to make contact and either Saryn needs to deal damage to the shield to drain its energy or wait for some time for the shield to become depleted. Or, the AI can use some kind of adrenaline shot to be able to tank some of the effects of Saryn's spores.

Of course this design should not be overly complicated in easy to medium content, but should at least inform players that as they progress further down the star chart and eventually get to more difficult content that the enemies from different factions will use more and more sophisticated strategies to counteract Warframe abilities based on what their factions are capable of doing. So each faction will have different ways of handling the same Warframe.

Eventually when you get to the more difficult content, enemies that were once really easy to deal with will now not be simple, mindless target dummies that you could just delete from the face of the Earth (or wherever you are located). Lancers could utilize various grenades to prevent a Warframe from closing the distance such as covering a ground with fire or electricity. Bombards or heavier units could utilize technology that could send out EMPs or drop some kind of device that would create a nullification field, similar to how the nullifiers work. Or they can deploy turrets that can fire grenades filled with gas or other things to force a Warframe out of cover.

If you are running an endless survival or defense mission, DE could design scenarios where if after 10 to 30 minutes, standard tactics fail to defeat the Warframes, the enemies will begin using other strategies and tactics to counteract the offensive and defensive capabilities of the Warframes, taking into consideration what Warframes are present as well as their weapons and companions. So, basically, the enemy begins to adapt based on what it is up against. If they see there is a Saryn in the team, the enemy starts using special shields that prevent spores from spreading like wildfire or they start using specialized gear that could give some resistance to miasma until the gear's protection wears off. Perhaps instead of shields, the enemy can deploy medical drones to treat spore infections which can either be very effective, or if Saryn is really strong, could overwhelm the medical drones and still wreck havoc.

If it gets to a point where the enemy faction simply cannot fight the Warframes and a new strategy is needed, DE could make the enemies retreat and call in special units to attempt to deal with the Warframes. For instance, imagine a squad or two of enemies similar to Kuva Liches backed by special forces are sent to deal with the Warframes. Their equipment will be based on how to deal with the Warframes effectively and you could essentially have a sort of mini-boss battle where each enemy will now need to be handled differently. Perhaps one has some kind of technology that can counteract Frost's Avalanche to some extent, or be able to ignore Limbo's abilities due to some kind of special shielding. One of the enemy units could use abilities similar to Ember's 4th ability where it deploys a turret that can bombard an area with rockets or grenades, therefore, forcing you to move instead of simply camping in one spot. Or an enemy can freeze an area to slow the Warframe squad down a bit.

You can also consider this scenario. You have a Frost and Ember together and you have Enemy 1 and Enemy 2. Enemy 1 is capable of counteracting Ember's fire attacks, but Frost's Avalanche could to some extent negate Enemy 1's defenses so that Ember's abilities could do their thing. Enemy 2, however, is capable to resisting Frost's abilities, but with the help of Ember, the resistance to those abilities could be negated to some extent. With this design, you won't need to nerf Warframes because the enemies will now have capabilities and means to counteract what we do, yet also giving us a chance to use our abilities to counteract whatever they do.

But what if, there is no Frost in the team, and an Ember player runs into Enemy 1? Well, they will need to use other methods to take it down, either relying on their weapons or using the environment. Perhaps the Ember player now needs to aim at a generator attached to Enemy 1's back to destroy its ability to defend itself from Ember's abilities, which only after can the Warframe defeat Enemy 1 with its abilities.

Thing is, DE has the assets and the resources already in the game. Prosecutors, for example, already have resistance to certain damage types and you need to use something else that the prosecutor cannot defend itself from. Sentients can adapt to our attacks and the only way to remove that adaptation (pun not intended) is to either use the Operator or use the Paracesis. Now the question is, how to incorporate that dynamic system into the game so that the AI in a mission will have a better chance at dealing with the Warframes they engage. This could be implemented into hardmode so that you can be challenged and the regular mode can be left as is if that is what part of the community wants. People who want difficulty and challenge will get their challenge and those who want to relax will get what they want.

Rewards will obviously need to be adjusted but that is another topic.

    TL;DR

Make enemies in all factions dynamic. They should be able to change their overall strategy and tactics based on which Warframes they need to deal with. Enemies should have ways to be able to prevent a player from simply camping in one spot and pressing 4 to win and instead forcing them to move and engage the enemy. You can even have enemies that can switch between various weapons, from range to melee and change their abilities to better suit what situation they are in. If you try to melee an enemy and it has time to react, it will switch to a melee stance and deploy defensive measures to prevent you from being able to close the distance and melee instantly. Have the AI react a certain way depending in what situation it is in. Certain types of enemy can counteract the abilities of one Warframe, but not the other Warframe's abilities, therefore requiring cooperation between squad members to deal with enemies accordingly.

Certain missions should also involve specialized units similar to Liches in squads that can create mini-boss battles, which should be really challenging in endless missions. Other mission types could also benefit from this.

This will require a different AI-logic and an overhaul of certain in-game mechanics, but overall, this change will not require nerfing Warframes/weapons and calling it a day and instead make the gameplay engaging. Before anybody argues that this change will be an in-direct nerf to Warframes, it is not. It is giving the enemy a fighting chance to deal with what we have and it is bringing their abilities more up to speed while also providing unique challenges as you never know what you will run into depending on your setup and what your squad is bringing. An Oberon with a Mesa in one match and an Oberon with Nekros in another match could create entirely different scenarios where the game will adapt accordingly to challenge the squad setup.

  4. I am experiencing some very random disconnections lately, which actually started shortly after Update 17 was released. However, this time, it has gotten worse for no apparent reason. Basically what happens is, at a random moment during a match, I would apparently become invisible to the enemy AI and would not be able to interact with the game's environment. Basically, I would not be able to revive anyone or open doors nor would I be able to pickup any resources that would drop.

If this happens during a defense or interception mission, no matter how many times I would click on the extract button, it would not work and the game would think that I never finished round 1, resulting in me losing everything I got prior to the random disconnection. Then I would have to redo round 1 which becomes really annoying because I just lost everything that I picked up prior to the disconnection or random lag.

I have made a post on this several weeks ago that has more details on this problem.

Interesting enough, another person using Kaspersky firewall reported having the same exact problem in the comment section of the post. Is there any reason as to why a firewall would all of a sudden prevent a game from running properly?

  5. It sounds like you are getting out of sync. If it was working fine before I wouldn't suspect your router, but eyeballing it for any obvious problems would not hurt.

Was that your Windows firewall you checked? If it seems in order, you can try troubleshooting it like it were a malware issue maybe?

It is not my Windows firewall. I use Kaspersky. All in-game settings regarding the internet were never touched.

This just happened again during a Draco, Ceres run and I missed out on two rare mods, one of which was Crossing Snakes. I sent a support ticket about this when I first started experiencing this issue and support said it might be my firewall preventing me from properly connecting to people and vice versa. However, I checked everything in my firewall and nothing was out of place. There is no reason why my firewall would all of a sudden prevent me from playing Warframe when I told it that this is an application that it does not have to worry about since it is a "trusted" application.

Also, when I host, people would either be able to connect or get stuck in the loading screen with the Lisets. Any suggestions on what to do?

Another thing, when this does happen, other people would report that I am running in one spot while apparently killing every single enemy AI. Funny thing is, I would not be able to even switch my weapons and end up getting stuck with whatever I had currently equipped.

  7. I am planning to downsize my clan because a lot of the members are inactive and the resource costs are just ridiculous. Currently we are a storm clan but I am going to downsize it to shadow rank.

Before I do this, can somebody tell me the steps to downsizing the clan? I know that you have to visit the dojo and from there you can downsize the clan but to do so you need to remove the inactive players. I am concerned about the barracks though. Do I have to remove the barracks that allows storm rank as well?

  8. There is a strange disconnect issue where at a random moment in the game, you can no longer pick stuff up nor interact with your environment, meaning that you cannot revive people or open doors. The enemy ignores your presence and yet you can still kill them. This has been going on for a while after a few hotfixes for update 17. I reported this before but the thread died quickly with no useful suggestions.

Any idea what is causing this? It cannot be my internet since if there was a problem, then I would not be able to play any other online game nor access the internet. This happens when I join a squad as the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th team member. I have not touched any internet settings nor anything in the options in the game.

  9. I started playing Warframe when Update 8 was live. The beginner Warframe was Excalibur and the first Warframe I built was Trinity. The next Warframe was Ember. I also remember I really liked using the Burston, Aklato, and Orthos as my main gear for a good amount of time. Then, my first prime Warframe was Frost Prime.

Anyways, the one Warframe that eluded me for a very long time, several months actualy, was Banshee when her parts dropped randomly in three different mission nodes. I remember how after finally getting her, two months later, Banshee becomes available in the clan dojo.

  10. Sounds indeed like connection problems if u cant dmg/pickup stuff up or might be the host.

Btw alot of people couldnt invite others cause of directX 11 maybe turn it off

If u cant solve the problem support might have the right answers

Strange that DirectX11 could be responsible though I doubt that is the case here. I have verified and optimized the game cache after big updates and hotfixes and everything is fine. Seems like the game might be acting up or I have been encountering some really bad hosts. Funny thing is, a person via chat told me that on their screen, I was standing in one spot and shooting endlessly without reload while on my screen everything was working "normally" except for that whole not being able to pick anything up and being totally ignored.

I should point out that somehow the bug fixed itself two minutes later.

  11. It sound like a connection problem to me, tho where issue lies i do not know

I have not been randomly disconnected out of the game. But the moment a nullifier shows up and the Enthropy Burst syndicate mod procs, this happens. Another indicator that something is wrong is when you start shooting at the bubble with a projectile-based weapon and see the bullets simply bounce off without having any effect on the bubble itself.

  12. I don't know what is going on but as of the recent hotfix, at a random point during the game, I am unable to pick up anything nor be able to damage enemies. At the same time, they begin to ignore my presence like as if I am a ghost even if I am standing directly in front of them. Furthermore, I am unable to change weapons nor revive downed teammates. This happened again during a Tower 3 defense the moment Enthropy Burst did the syndicate proc with a nullifier nearby. This seems to happen only when a nullifier is nearby.

I don't know if this is a problem with the game itself or a sudden loss of connection to the host even though my internet is perfectly fine and there are no problems with it. Furthermore, there have been recent reports of people getting signed out automatically by the game and when anybody tries to invite, the game says that the player is offline even though they are still online without the _1 at the end of their name.

Can somebody take a look into this or confirm that this isn't an isolated incident?

  13. ahaha i hate the halls. too big.. too.. empty feeling even if you decorate it.

trees and shrubs feel dumb in them.

I moved all halls to the bottom floor along with all the energy things so i ccould build more rooms and stuff.

    they need more decor.

there's like a few unreleased rooms too like the aquarium.

And what will you do the moment you run out of space?

  14. You can only have one of each type of hall if you already own some.

Well that is a shame. I wanted to construct a few more of the large halls so that I can make the dojo better but since that option is now gone and I am stuck with only a few great halls, a greater hall, grand hall, and a grandest hall, I guess my clan is going to have to use those small hallways.

Whose idea was this anyways? Really, DE needs to allow us to build whatever we want.

  15. What are you talking about? I constructed a Grand Hall a week or two ago.

I am not sure what is going on but apparently I cannot construct a new hall because it is not in the options. I have plenty of energy available as well as space and there is so many available nodes with no other rooms anywhere near them, yet the halls don't show up in the options to construct them. Am I missing something?

  16. I noticed this a few months ago but never really asked but what happened to the clan halls for the clan dojo? Why did they get removed from the rooms that you can construct? I did not really pay much attention to clan stuff since my clan at the time was kind of dead but recently became alive again.

Is this a decision DE made to prevent clans from making massive dojos? Kind of a shame if it is the case because my clan and I are trying to re-organize the clan dojo and we kind of need those clan halls back to be able to make the dojo better. Otherwise we will just keep on using the space available and sooner or later run out of it with no way to get that space back without having to destroy rooms.

I don't know if this will be addressed any time soon.

  17. It would be nice if we can make additional upgrades to our Warframes. Imagine if those augment mods were already incorporated into the abilities themselves without the need for an actual mod. To gain access to them, you would simply click on the ability and see what kind of secondary upgrades/perks it has and use an upgrade point or something to either unlock that perk or increase its effectivness.

As for the skill tree, it will have upgrades that will allow you to decide if for example you want your Valkyr to be more tank-oriented or support-oriented which will perhaps give some alterations to how the abilities will work. Furthermore, you can mix and match perks from various skill trees of the same Warframe if you choose to.

This was possible with the previous version of the skill tree in Star Wars The Old Republic. Now, depending what class and sub-class you play, the game right away gives you the exact things you will need. Basically, the developers hand-picked the most necessary upgrades and skills that you will need and on the side, there are additional perks to unlock to make various builds.

So basically you have the main skill tree with an additional upgrades/perks system on the side. This can be considered as modding in a sense. If you played Star Wars The Old Republic, you will understand what I am trying to say. It also gives a sense of progression from level 10 (when you can choose your sub-class) to level 60.

The enemies are getting stronger but our capabilities are becoming more and more out-dated unless you literally spend countless forma just to get a small boost. They are evolving. I mean take a look at the Eximus units. Their abilities are in fact better than what our Warframes can offer. It is time we evolve. Who knows how those Sentients will turn out to be. Next thing you know, that 5 forma'd Tigris or Nova Prime, Rhino, or any other Warframe you have will barely do anything.

Furthermore, I am not saying to get rid of the mod system completely, but it needs some rework.
