If the Corrupted effect was only 'on self' it would be doable!

Well actually ... There is already one "corrupted" aura in the game, it's called Power Donation.

The user lose something and other gain something, more aura like that could be very cool.

so I just went with my own impression that derelict kavats were orokin pets that went feral after the fall.

That's it, they're bio-engineered terminators purposed to annihilate infestation.

I'm getting bored already, I really hoped they'll add something new in the next act

I agree laast serie had at least those fugitives to hunt down, but now we're just waiting for the next daily act and the zealots to appears, let's hope the interaction between the serie 2 and the overall game, maybe on episode 3 in two weeks.

which is why it is hostile to derelict cats

Nah that's not the reality, the reality is that CATS are hostile to infestation, kavats were breed to hunt and destroy infested hive, check the encrypted journal (ghoul fragment) obtained from ghoul purge event for Khora story and infos about kavats and infestation.

It was quite a while ago, when I played the Jordas Precept, and I don't remember this. Could you elaborate? What happened?

Check the wiki for the quest quote, or get the quest dialogue on youtube, but basically it hints, as in the glast gambit, that there are some infested "brain-strain" that fear other "brain-strain" for ... whatever reason ? Maybe they're agoraphobic .. ? *shrug*

  5. Il y a 1 heure, evilChair a dit :

I wanna rephrase myself. The Helminth calls Nidus "master" and seems to be the powerhouse behind Nidus' abilities. The Helminth also differentiates between the Operator and Nidus, which means that to some extent warframes maintain a certain amount of personality independence, even if they're basically in sleep mode once the Operator personally gets up. It leads me to believe that Nidus is some kind of flagbearer for the Helminth strain. Seeing how Nidus doesn't get picky over what to abuse using 2-1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-3, including other infested, it leads me to believe that individual infested strains in fact do harbour much mutual animosity.

Yup, the confirmation of what you're pointing is revealed in atlas quest where the golem is totally effrayed when he realise what we are for real, but that part is still obscure to me if he fears the tenno or the helminth.

And I think Nidus was the pinacle of the "full infested techno-frame, with minimum orokination", probably one of the latest warframe built or just one fully infested design, it works so why not ? Remember that lore wise those were designed during wartime, in war you want to win, so everything is good to outrun your opponent especially for a godish empire as the orokin were with totally no care of inferor species casualties and cloning etc.

  6. Reading the wiki, and watching some youtube video about episode 2 I'm starting to realise that an idea I had directly at the start of episode 1 is starting to become more and more realistic.

Arlo is a Healer, a boy dead for three years, but alive with no voice but an healing touch. That's exactly the Corrupted Ancient Imprint description for how the lorist healing stuff worked, they pulse their energy into people to heal them, and that's close to what Arlo can do, curing all he's curing, only a Lorist Healer can do that.

And all the Lorist got eradicated long ago, and became Ancients.

What makes me confirming that more and more is that when a Devotee is spawned in mission, he'll apply the same effect as an ancient healer would. So either the thing they're carrying is a serum based on some ancient healer genecode or they're all brainwashed, and ultimatly all dead, by some very old infestation strain linked to the ancients. (which seems to lead to the idea about the new infested ancient units coming soon)

Also an interesting observation about the diorama of episode 2 is that the room is grineerish, makes me think of a grineer sea-lab storage room, but the main door access to it is ... The big doors used in the Corpus ship tileset. I have no idea where arlo and his devotees are right now, but they seems to not be on eris anymore, no one would go there just to be cured, way too dangerous due to the massive infestation cluster on eris.

Right now I think we're still not able to encounter zealots, but maybe we're able to encounter vengar somewhere in the game, probably on a neutral zone.

That's all the "new" info I got for now, mainly lore I know, but maybe that will help someone to figure out how to make those Zealot finnally appears.

Are you sure? Those ships always looked like that.

    https://www.artstation.com/artwork/OL5ee

The grineer galeon from Empyrean got some kind of "tower" that the old one doesn't have, and the back reactor is a cylinder on the Empyrean version and the old one have a squared one.

The corpus obelisk is definitly the new one, I've already seen the entire 3d model ingame during the Archwing quest (but it's maybe patched now)

Totally sure of that, also because when you're on your liset the 3d model on your windows are not the one on the starchart for all the mentionned ships.

Those three miniature models are on the pc starchart in 25.4, and they're using Empyrean 3d models already.

Infested miniature models are still using the old models, that could mean they're still working on the infested ships modeling.

  9. il y a 9 minutes, Xenox_Ilz-ot a dit :

I think both of them are new units, not just reskins

Technically the ancient one was tagged "infested ancient", and ancients aren't 100% infestation as in they're fossilised things brought back to life and cloned, not contamined by the infestation releashed by those damn grineer and alad V, so yes probably the "infested ancient" is some kind of upgraded elite version of the ancient, as we heard the noise of the juggernaut when they entered the mission but only that big new infested bad boy was there.

Also the tileset of that infested tower was a variation of the lua tileset with infestation on it, maybe all of this infestation arround Arlo is some kind of ... "original" infestation, I'm impatient to learn more about them soon(tm) and face those zealots.

Speculation I’ve seen (can’t take credit) is that the “Arlo” strain is a functional strain of infested that will allow for infested crewmen and an infested Empyrean ship and faction.

that's probably me on the first page, but I'm probably not the only one that came up with that idea on it beeing a lore way to justify Empyrean flying infested intelligence.

    Il y a 12 heures, evilChair a dit :

any devotee/nidus special interactions? the infested strains don't take kindly to one another, given how the helminth (and by extension nidus) is ok with killing other infested.

Nidus dying ? wait... Why would a nidus die ? XD (didn't test, but can be interessting to verify)

    Il y a 12 heures, Xenox_Ilz-ot a dit :

I still want to see that new infested unit they talked about, here, for those who didn't saw it already:

This one is probably the new brood mother, or a totally new unit (but those spider legs are very interesting and come from nowhere we actually know)

Also the new infested ancients shown in Empyrean demo are very nice, their arm swings are less "I'm spiderman throwing a wire at you heheh, like those grineer scorpions you know" and way more infested.

  11. Il y a 5 heures, (PS4)robotwars7 a dit :

occasionally found a Devotee just chilling in a Tileset, even with a full-on firefight going on right next to them. wasn't downed or anything,

That's prboably some buged behaviors, I think mecanics prepare devotees inside one "spawnable zone" on the tileset, and then they teleport to the player if they die. So if there is a fail in the AI behavior that can explain why sometime some devotee appears without anyone beeing downed.

    Il y a 3 heures, (PS4)Silverback73 a dit :

If Arlo’s chest cavity is like others under debt-bondage, well, you can see where this might be going...surprise!!!!

Vent kids solarian children don't have the chest things, it's only the adults, as childrens are "enslaved" by the detachment of the head and reattachment of it on their body or an augmented body, so no surprise right there xP.

I'm also starting to think about something, we already know an occurance of someone using their Hand to touch someone else and "gain control over them"

In the Sacrifice, when our tenno touches Umbra to access his mind and in the end "control" him (that's not control, but it's definitly a psychic link).

That's starting to smell trouble, like hard trouble.

Alad V ! What have you done again !?

  12. Il y a 5 heures, (PS4)Silverback73 a dit :

Do the healers actively engage in combat? Or is this a new unit or behavior change?

From what I saw, they also fight with you for abit of time after spawning.

    Il y a 4 heures, Hawk_of_the_Reborn a dit :

You read the desc for the operator suit too, haven't you?

That's warframe, everything is always turning wrong in this univers XD

    Il y a 4 heures, (PS4)Viveeeh a dit :

Have you noticed that in the Nightwave diorama, Arlo's head isn't seem to be attached to his neck? That's a bit... erm... odd? Suspicious?

Arlo is a vent kid type, solarian children, they got their head detached and reattached to a body, it's normal for a solarian child. Well I mean nothing special lore-wise about the head itself, it's Fortuna lore related.

    Il y a 3 heures, WH1735S0W a dit :

If its another field boss like the Wolf I hope its at least less annoying.

I didn't see any field boss right now, only some followers, but Arlo is probably gonna become one new type of boss, maybe with his own mission.

    Il y a 3 heures, WH1735S0W a dit :

That said, what you guys think his drops would be?

Maybe it's the boss for the next warframe, or some infested things, we'll learn more on episode 2.

    Il y a 3 heures, (PS4)Viveeeh a dit :

Others found out it's a linkable item in chat, so it's existing in the game, we just do not have any means to obtain it yet.

Nightwave cred offering shop, will come later in the serie with future episodes.

    il y a 43 minutes, (PS4)Viveeeh a dit :

Oh he is? I did not know that! Conspiracy theory debunked, dammit

Well... Knowing how he got his head detached and reattached don't break the conspiracy theroy... Maybe his head is empty, remember he lost his VOICE... So maybe his real brain is an infested thing contrôling a dead pupet luring lost souls by pretending he save them from infestation but it's a trap.

Remember Ballas words, "the Madness of the Infestation", "our horror pasts". Something bigger than our well known braindead infestation is there in the backlore of the strains.

And is the only way to get them to spawn by dieing?   If so that kinda sucks.

Right now the Devotee purpose is basically "they're kind healer coming to revive fallen tenno", so yeah someone have to die for them to come, it's what they're meant for x'D. (and they're useless except for that)

    Il y a 17 heures, ChaoticEdge a dit :

    What are we on crusade?

Yes we are ! DEUS VULT ! Burn the Heretics !

    Il y a 6 heures, TheRealShade a dit :

You sure the devotees spawn only when you get downed? I had one spawn in a mission without me dying.

could be rescue target npc dead / companion dying, anything that can bleed out and be revived by them.

    Il y a 17 heures, (NSW)Sniperfox47 a dit :

    My speculation for NW2:

Arlo is a friendly strain of infestation that frees people from the main strain by infecting them with it's strain. It does this intending to help it's "brothers and sisters" (the Warframes).

Various human factions think Arlo is evil and has stolen their loved ones from them, even though they were already lost to the infestation. They send out Zealots, flamethrower and Energy weapon equipped Operatives, to burn out the devotees.

We as Tenno have to defend the devotees against increasingly vicious attacks in order to attain a powerful Ally for the New War.

I think there are two side on the idea, one is totally game design based and the other lore based.

They shown us some new infested units on tennocon, so game design based it's probably the way to bring some unit addition / upgrade to the infested faction as they did during the Mutalist event where corpus infested prosies were added to the faction.

Lore wise, I think it's a story that came for many reasons, some informations are sleeping for too long about the infestation and they said for long that they wanted to expand all the lore arround the infested room on the liset and the cysts.

A third reason, combined of the two dev and story reason I'm suspecting is that Steve said every faction was going to get their own space fighters and capital ships on Railjack update, and right now the infestation isn't known to be that cleaver except "EAT EVERYTHING" so it could have been a nightmare to design properly.

That lead me to the conclusion that NW2 is bringing some lore about an infested strain that managed to be more than just "I'm a space parasite that just want to expand", as if it gained sentients too, intelligence, purpose, etc. And I really think we're going to have some less braindead infested based on this lore, plus some damn religious fanatics too.

I'm impatient to discover the episodes stories !

  14. Okay it seems that the description of the Emissary Operator Suit says "Become like Arlo's Devotee", so they're definitly going to mute into ennemy.

So we'll probably have to wait episode 2 for the enemy to appears.

    Il y a 1 heure, Fallen77 a dit :

Sure you're not talking about devotee ? Cause I think I could have fond trace of em if they already did...

Devotee spawn randomly on tenno death during mission to come revive the fallen tenno and help abit.

  15. Il y a 6 heures, Miser_able a dit :

Last season it listed the wolf mask before it was a possible drop

The non amalgamed version never dropped the mask, only the amalgamed wolf was able to drop it, and before the boss event. He turned sentient-amalgamed on the 4th episode, at least 4 weeks before the final event with the boss missions having (the mission) better drop chance.

    Il y a 5 heures, Aldrr a dit :

    Devotees are friendly, sure.

But from the sound of it, this'll start to turn sour once these Zealots begin spawning instead of "surprise field medic!"

Yeah I think there will be some kind of uprising,  you don't use the word "Zealot" outside of fanatism, so prepare your inquisitorial flamer for the battle and purge the heretics ! *wait, that's the wrong universe.*

    Il y a 5 heures, 0_The_F00l a dit :

So a typical religious outcome then,

Starts nice with everyone saying how it's all about love and ends with some dude getting tortured and then skewered while select individuals benefit from the ignorance and fear of something that may or may not exist.

Well "start with love", nop, it start with "a dead boy lost his voice and now save some dudes that were supposed to die and now they owe him their life" this is the basic plot of an heretical group formation.

I'm really impatient to see that infested churche in the background of Arlo in the trailer / ingame episode.

AT LEAST this time Alad V is not involved in another infested mess... Or is he... ? (imagine amlagam of sentient and infestation, would be a pure nightmare)
