  1. First of all, I love this frame. She's unique and very interesting in term of synergy, so gameplaywise I think she's really good. But I have something that bother me about her "artistic design", especially about her movement animation.

I'm totally aware on how complexe and time heavy can be to redo animations for everything for one single warframe, having the jog animation custom is already a damn thing compared to the rest of the frames and open possibilities to have every frame having their own special movement thing (example: mirage dodge more looking as the acrobatic moves from the mirage prime trailer) but Wisp animations have so much lacks.

Actually as she have no feet, a lot of the game animation are wrong right now on her. For the melee animation I totally understand that not that much time was invested in it because melee 3.0 will bring many changes on melee and probably a lot on animations so would be a waste of time to do unique wisp animation for melee at this point. But for the Sneaking (crouch), the standing firing, the aiming-moving, are using the regular vanilla animation that use feets on the ground.

It's nothing harmless for the gameplay but it's some kind of her uniqueness, that "I have no feet so I'm hovering" part that makes her what she is that, in my opinion, have too much lacks. I'm also aware that she came just before that big period of the year with E3 and Tennocon so it's totally okay if her actual animation stat is a "we did like that for now to not delay her too long and not delay other things we're working on", and I hope we'll have the polishing of her overall animations during the year. But if we don't, I'll live with it anyway and still enjoy her a lot cause she's extremly enjoyable.

I can't tell based on the two pictures, but "particles" exist beyond the "GPU Particles" option.

The setting refers to the ability to accelerate (many)particles with the GPU. Otherwise, you just run a few particles on the CPU (or do more traditional things with textures/shaders - whatever the use case may be).

Given the list is quite long, i'd assume this is what you're seeing. I don't think every weapon has even had a particle pass - which allows the spawning of significantly more particles.

If the "High" vs. "Low" GPU particle setting shows a difference in the amount of particles spawned, you can probably assume it is hooked up to GPU acceleration. Otherwise, it's working as intended.

Well there are some GPU particles that can be affected by physics and have collisions that could not run on CPU, we have "disabled" GPU particle settings and those particles were not there before the 25.x.x update. On my list I noted with "can be something different" all particles that could be CPU particles but that behave as GPU particles (as in not 2d sprites 100% fixed to relative position from their source).

The thing is that I don't remember that they mentionned working on new vfx for the 25.0.0 neither to read that on the patchnote, and that kind of fail can occure on Mainline updates.

  3. Hey there,

I've notice that long ago, on Fortuna part 2 that the energy FX of the "gunbarrel" of the fluctus was broken as well as nearly all the atmospheric archgun firing animations. Recently most of those animations were corrected except the fluctus that still use it's "depploy" animation instead of its regular fire animation while firing on the ground. (hard to screen)

But here is another small issue about the fluctus energy on the "gunbarrel", the top left and bottom right energy lines are misplaced like that:

  4. Hey there,

I've noticed that the Aklex Prime doesn't trigger its animation for the Slide part of the gun, while the muzzleflash and the round shell trigger properly. I've only tested that in Lua captura.

    ## EDIT 24.07.2019 ##

After weeks of observation on that issue, I came to the conclusion that it's not GPU particle related, but directly a basic Particle System issue. I'm pretty sure the "Low" setting renders identically to the "Medium" setting since 25.0.0. I first noticed on my Imperator Vandal a strange shiny glow while shooting on the 25.0.0 but I thought it was just something I never noticed before on this weapon as I never really played it, and also the Fulmin had the same type of muzzle-flash glow so I thought all of that was GPU particle driven. But just now I realized that my operator Lega Prism was now rendering the same glowing muzzle-flash on top of what it used to render in "Low" setting. Overall this can explain all the performance cost increase since 25.0.0 while using full low setting and dx10.

    Hey there,

I've noticed few days ago that my Catchmoon had some very strange particles floating arround the muzzle flash, but I've already seen those type of particles while channelling and those are very similar to the GPU particles that appears when you turn the GPU particles setting to low or higher, and they appear on my Catchmoon and channeling when the setting is on Disabled.

I've seen it also on the Cyanex and I've made the comparison between with the setting on Disabled and on Low.

    GPU Particles Disabled:

    pO4jVCv.jpg

    GPU Particles Low:

    MYM6lG9.jpg

Note: with the GPU Particles Low the screen shot have multiple shots fired that increased the amount of particles arround the muzzle but it's the same density per shot as with the setting on Disabled, the projectiles trails have particles that are not present under Disabled setting.

As you can see on the screenshots, the particles from the muzzleflash and the one on the trails are abit different, the trails one are more shiny but I'm pretty sure the one on the muzzleflash are also GPU particles. I'll update the list of the known situation where I see this occuring.

  7. Amalgam Javelok Magazine Wrap reflect damage are not properly calculated when the damage are dealt to the shield, as normally you should take more dmg on the shield that you take on your health as the shield doesn't have the armor damage reducing but it's actually totally not what happens. I did not kill any mobs on Mot during 2min with hildryn using the same build as on my nidus that oneshoot everything in reflect. (version 25.0.4)

  8. Hey there, first I love wisp, but I think the map icons for the mots are bit too "big" and too "out of standard icons". I mean they're as big as a warframe icon and it's kinda confusing. They're also seen from extremly far on the minimap, their direction point remain for a very long distance.
