  1. With new relics comes another wave of "relic scummers".

    They drop into a mission, check what relics people are opening and if they don't see what they want, they leave. 

    Recommendation:

    - Enable a longer count for relic mission start so everyone can see that people actually brought the right thing for a radshare.

    - 15 minute cooldown on abandoning a relic mission.

    There's not really much that *can* be done, as it's the nature of Peer-to-Peer networking. This is critical to pass the obligation onto the players, as opposed to dedicated hosting, to keep the game free-to-play. I have pretty crappy internet speeds upstream myself, using 3g/LTE tethering, and yet somehow with almost 100 hours a week in mission, I rarely seem to encounter these kinds of issues in pugs.

    The obvious solutions are to:
    - Get better internet (though sometimes these issues are caused by hosts or other clients)
    - Set a ping limit (doesn't always work, but filters out most of the crappy hosts, for me 300ms seems to be the sweet spot)

    The other things you can do:
    - If the host leaves, leave the mission too...avoid host migrations like the plague
    - Get to know the desync workarounds (such as the "ability in use", "unable to move" or "loot sticks to frame" desync issues)
    - Keep a watchful eye on your own ping
    - If you have a crappy connection, never host (youll probably get bullied or pingshamed if you host with >500ms ping anyway)

    All that said, there are still times you run into it. For me, less than 2% of the time, according to my abandoned mission stats...things like unopenable doors, or bugged objectives. While I do spend a lot of free time in the Plains, I don't spend nearly as much in Orb Vallis, since it seems to be a lot more picky and temperamental, so if it's a mission I can solo, I'll do just that. 

    With each bit of content that is added, the more the network load will be. Short of entire networking structure redesign of the game, I doubt there's much that can be done on their end. Of course, that's a question better answered by them, not me.

    Except you don't get to pick the host. Warframe does. And ping is only part of the issue. The other part is bandwidth, and when they come under load the ping craters! 

    I have excellent internet on my end, the problem seems to be more is red state hostages to ComCast or other such pseudo-monopoly garbage, coupled with terrible host prioritisation which should be fixable...

    And lost connection to multiplayer could be recoverable if there was any will to fix it (e.g. client submits session log, automatically parsed to provide loot). Sure that could be exploited, but red-flags for those efforts would abound!

  3. You had an update a while ago that broke button inputs on my 10 year old Xbox 360 controller.

    So I started using an Xbone one until it was literally crushed in my bare hands within two weeks.

    Fortunately the Xbox 360 controller issue was resolved by then, so old faithful is back in action....

    I have found that the Steam Controller settings tend to break everything and are best disabled altogether!

    I went to Orb Vallis to farm some Sola Toroids, got back to Fortuna and all the post game loot is gone. You can see in the video us loading out with my loot there, but then it gets the mission failed and all the loot is gone.  Toroids are enough of a pain to get...

    There seems to have been a dramatic increase in these problems for non-host players with the new update.

    It looks like, if the host connection drops while it is meant to be updating the mission result then nobody gets anything, except base XP gained.

    And DE won't help with that because they have no server side logs, because they didn't get the update.

  5. Ok, so y'all say there is nothing you can do, but these sorts of mission failures have become much more common since the last major update.

    Especially:

    - Orb Vallis and Plains of Eidolon

    - Void fissure missions at the reward select screen

    - Endless mission types where the host votes to leave and everyone wants to carry on

    The problems seem to be related to hosts not having sufficiently robust internet/computer power to actually be host...

    What's changed and what is being done to fix it?

  6. I've seen this happen mostly on the free roam areas. Which is why I never fish or mine except when solo anymore. And why I extract after any bounty where I get anything good.  Was especially frustrating for the Plague Star event.

    Now it seems to have spread since the last mainline update!!

    Host dropouts and game freeze especially in void fissure and endless mission modes. Especially if the host votes to leave, in which case everyone else gets frozen out of controls, followed minutes later by "Lost connection to multiplayer" (possibly when the host gives up and aborts) and a complete loss of mission rewards.

    Most recently I was stuck with the other non-host players chatting after getting stuck in the fuzzed out phase rewards screen on a void fissure (all rewards were blank).

    Eventually all the rest of us aborted.

    This is some game-breaking stuff DE. You spend 20 minutes running a mission and then it breaks because of new bugs. Meanwhile your service ticket people say "we ain't got no record of that, you get nothing".  Super disappointing!

    I provided screenshots. Your failure to log data effectively isn't my fault. At least give us a way to upload session logs or something!

  9. If the host decides to leave on a void fissure, remaining players get stuck at the relic select screen. Only way out is to abort and you lose everything!

    This has happened to me twice. I've avoided it by leaving when the host decided to, but I don't always make a gorram note of who the host is so I can avoid this stupid bug!

  10. I don't know if it is a new bug, but I skipped the second phase Lephantis cinematic, and found myself in a spectator mode, able to move horizontally, but not able to move vertically.

    I could fire and took down one head, but the others then just ignored me.

    No gear items or abilities would work, and using /unstuck returned me to the upper arena where I was still stuck and bodiless.

  11. Initially this riven challenge was working fine, and I was at 15/20. Then it stopped counting, and I was stuck at 15/20....

    So I tried failing a mission to reset it. Now it is stuck at 0/20...

    Tried different factions, different mission types, no joy!

  12. Ok, I'm out. Three missions in a row.

    - Arbitration excavation with NO EXCAVATORS SPAWNING!!!!

    Edit: I became host after host migration while the first excavator was spawning. Needed to abort.

I remember it being a problem when relics came out but nowadays I get rifts opening after a wave was killed and before the next starts, haven't had a problem with spawnrate in months. Just today I was doing a lith defence on earth with a Volt nuking the map and we always had enough reactant. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe it's console specific?

    I had it on my last run (PC) but it could've been the MR 26 & 27 guys who kept running off and spawning new excavators and pulling spawns all over the map. Either griefers, or idiots who paid cash money for max rank accounts and don't know how to actually play...

  14. Of course, then you get American hosts with the world's most awful internet because of ISP monopolies crushing any actual investment in decent internet, so then their awful dial-up quality internet lags out the reward screen.  Today I had two different games in a row with:

    - Invisible rewards, what did we get? What could we choose? Who knows?!?!? But at least the counter worked...

    - Lagged out, with no counter on the reward screen, after a few minutes we all just abort.

    And I've experienced both of those issues before. Meanwhile here I am in a little Mexican town of 150,000 people, with a fibre connection...
