  1. ...sometimes you get ported right next to grineers in some maps, randomly occurs.

Grineer Commanders have the Switch Teleport skill. I assume this is what's happening to you. Where you were standing is where the Commander gets TPed to so it's hard to tell what did it sometimes.

  2. I don't *think* it's that, though I wouldn't put it past my ISP. My public IP is currently 114.17. etc.

When I can steel myself to brave customer service I'll give them a call and report back. They might have some suggestions about the NAT settings.

I got the router from them as well which was probably a mistake :p

edit. Ok I may have found the problem. Looks like the game was forwarding ports on the wifi IP but using data through the ethernet cable on another IP. Completely disabled wifi on the computer and it's got rid of the popup. No wonder the game was confused, I was too :p

Also should account for the weird behaviour which let me join any games despite having this warning. My setup there's probably not very common but at least there's a reason for it. I don't know how Warframe's networking works but if it's possible I guess there needs to be some sort of handling of the game connections if it's running on a rig with multiple internet connected IPs.

  3. Sorry, yes. It's the Strict NAT warning. I only mentioned the firewall as the router lists NAT functions under that header in its config.

By skipping the firewall I meant plugging the computer directly into the modem. No router.

  4. Fantastic stuff. Wheres Rhino and excalibur though? Can the quote for Rhino be "Noob Tube"? ;p

How dare you! The Rhino is a noble creature >.>

These are great wallpapers by the way! So many random screens around the house and I can put a different pic on each one :)

  5. Well, ports are now different, forwarded and - as per usual - ignored by Warframe. I'm not sure what the solution is meant to be. Especially when the message comes up when I skip the router firewall entirely. Thanks for that idea btw, Torguish :)

At this point it seems like there might be something else going on but the game's detector can't tell or doesn't have the right message for it.

  6. I think this might be one of those 'features' of Windows.

I can only think of setting the other monitor as your primary. In Win7 it's under the 'screen resolution' option in the desktop right-click menu or in Control panel it's in Display/Screen Resolution. Click the screen you want the game to run on and tick the "Make this my main display" checkbox -> apply etc.

You might have to move your taskbar and things but it's easier than physically switching the screens around :p

  7. Thanks for the suggestion, Glen. I'll check with my mate when he gets home. I think there's only one other person in the house playing at the moment.

Would the issue happen when only one person is playing at a time though? The router and my computer are only showing my ip forwarding the ports.

edit. I should probably add that I can play the game fine. I don't have any apparent network issues except for the usual mediocre performance of Aussie net.

  8. Having great fun reading this thread.

Just wanted to throw an idea in about the Lotus identity crisis. I've always imagined the Lotus are a council of sorts. We are contacted by the Lotus through A Lotus. She is the Lotus but one of many (or few, more likely) therefore the strange turn of phrase referring to herself as Lotus but also that, "The Lotus will be pleased."

Now I don't know if she's one of several transhuman personalities or AIs or in more of a Karan S'jet (love Homeworld btw) situation but I definitely get the feeling she's one of several... petals of the Lotus perhaps?

  9. Well, I can't get it to stay happy. I've started getting the popup again even when I'm running the game without any other games running. Even from a fresh restart.

It's like the game can't see that the ports are open.

  10. ... lag storms.

Brilliant. There should be an ingame effect to show this.

Oh, better OT. Every time it migrates host the objective markers disappear.

  11. hi, i'm having the same issue as yours, could you please tell me how to forward the Ports manually ?

googled it and .. well i still can't tell how to do that

As, Kimiykz said, it primarily depends on your router brand and model. Once you know those it should be easy to find via google. If you still can't work it out, post your router model on the forum and someone will be able to help.

I still have that exact problem even after I manually port forwarded. I solved it by remove and re-add the ports again.

Also from what I've seen, I can't open another game with Warframe. For example, I have GAME 1(Not Warframe) minimized, while playing Warframe, a moment later it says Strict NAt detected.

I'm not sure how that affect Warframe but I never open different game with Warframe at the same time after that.

Hm, I wonder if that's part of the issue. I've almost always got other stuff running at the same time. I've also noticed I get more pseudo-NAT problems when I choose Oceania as my region. US West for example, while it gives me a higher ping almost never complains about the ports.

Perhaps there are server issues with this still.

  12. I get this thing at every login where it tells me to manually forward the ports because UPnP isn't working. Problem is, my router has the ports in the UPnP table and says it's working fine. I've tried manually forwarding the ports but the popup still showed up.

    Any ideas?

Edit. I may have fixed this by enabling and disabling UPnP a few (1 million) times on both the router and game. I'll give it a day or two and see how it goes.

  13. Just thinking about Ricochet, if it's only affecting a single bullet each charge you'd never want to use something like a Gorgon or Braton. It'd have to be a Lex or Bolto or something.

What if it had a short duration? Maybe 1 second increased by 1 each rank? Gorgon still wouldn't be great due to spinup but it opens up some options.

  14. PayPal was the cheaper option, actually. It's all to do with DE using 'UltimatePay' as a middleman for all transactions. A 'surcharge' of $11 is stupid and dishonest especially when DE won't be seeing any of it.

I was eventually able to partially bypass 'UltimatePay' and ended up only paying $1.75 or something to them by using the USD system. That's the sort of surcharge I expected in the first place and wouldn't have been an issue.

Oh, by the way, the only response I got from support was 'Sorry, hope you enjoy the game'. Bit sad.

Happily though, with the founder's pack I'm not planning on making any more transactions through that system.

  15. I was just about to go the whole hog and grab the Grand Master pack to support Warframe but I noticed when I was trying to pay for it the exchange rate to AUD seems to be a bit backwards.

Can this either get fixed or is there some way I can pay in USD?

Just for reference it's listing the pack for AUD$ 256.21 which is about USD$ 261.53 at the moment. There's no reason I should be paying an extra $11 for an entirely digital product.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum by the way. Little hard to categorise it.

edit. Just noticed the Paypal option here adds an extra charge on top of the normal Paypal fees as well. I'm really disliking this policy of trying to overcharge at every turn.

  16. Just confirmed this bug. Click doesn't have to be that fast, subjectively though, no idea about actual timing.

Could be while the colour is changing that it freezes if you choose another one? No that's not right. I also managed to get the UI to lock up after changing a colour then pressing the back button.

The warframe customising UI was semi-transparent underneath the colour picker and nothing was clickable. Like the UI thought it was still transitioning so it disabled clicks or something. Esc, enter etc didn't work either.
