  1. I don't know how this supposed to work and whether or not me not having my railjack yet has anything to do with it, so sorry for this report being a bit muddled, but that's how it looks:

A clanmate invites me and others to the dojo, we assemble there, I can't board the railjack, even when I see theirs in the dojo (sometimes I see only empty dock, or my incomplete railjack there) all the consoles are locked out.

When the leader starts the game, about half the time I'm whisked aboard the railjack, and everything works, other times I'm just left stranded in the dojo, while the rest of the team is proceeding normally. Leaving and then being re-invited from aboard the railjack works, but only if the game isn't set to public, as usually my slot is insta-filled.

I have railjack assembly as my current quest, a rather slow PC, and honestly can't think of anything else pertinent we're doing right/wrong. (Maybe, it depends on who's the host, etc...)

  2. Does it really have to be this restrictive? I think that the full railjack UI (with only actual placement of parts/mods disabled) should be available as soon as you're able to join a mission, not when you actually built the thing. I understand the "no spoilers" aspect of it, but  by the time you can actually join other people's railjack missions there won't be much spoiling anyway.

I just don't see the reason for almost everything railjack-related to be blanked off -- you can't contribute to the clan projects, or even see what your clan has besides a blueprint for Cy, I seemingly can't board clanmate's railjacks from the dojo (though it works sometimes, so it might be just the part of current buggedness of all railjack features) you can't see your railjack-related loot (except basic resources) -- Is it gone, BTW, or does the game still keep it?

The only thing that you can access is intrinsics (because you'd be useless as a crew without those, I guess) and you actually need a guide to find it...   (and again, it's enough of a spoiler all by itself...)

And, besides, railjack isn't like spoilermode. It's a whole new game mode, with DE dropping the update at a major awards show, and featuring it in marketing... I simply don't see why its UI is hidden like it is now.

  3. OK, the part where I was most tempted to quit was soon after tutorial, when the game started to actively push me into the PoE, and every time I discover that there's something I need there.  (with my freakout thread over one of those archived on these forums for all eternity.) It's not just not having the archwing, the whole thing really isn't balanced for new players. It's easy enough once you have better gear, (and yes, completed that ridiculous grind for the launcher segment) spoilermode and some experience, but I still feel "not THAT again" every time I'm there just because of those early experiences with it.

Which is a shame since PoE and Vallis are very nicely done areas with some very cool stuff in them and I kind of like how bounties work.

  4. Well, I don't know about "without errors" but I had been playing on Linux for a while and so far haven't seen anything very different from what Windows users report. (I do get crashes, but that's more likely because my PC is a complete potato.)

Installation is a bit tricky as you'd need a custom-built Proton and either a controller (you don't need to actually use it, it just needs to be plugged in) or a piece of software that tricks Steam into thinking you have one.

Pre-built Proton with all necessary stuff is here: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases  also in non-hotfix release notes there's explanation how to set up a fake controller if you need to. The step-by-steps there are a bit obsolete, but if you used Proton before, it shouldn't be hard to figure out. (or Googling  and asking around about specific details.)

  5. The bug is still there for me, despite patch notes saying it's supposed to be fixed (twice.)

Third time the charm, I guess.

Actually I'm a noob who desperately tries to catch up on the Nightwave, but also in his noobness, doesn't remember which crafting resources are where, and so uses the radio to see the NW and the map to see the resources...

    My gamer senses are tingling!

It's not actually visible if you switch the NW in the nav off, though.

I did notice the infested ship node, and figured it out from there, but for someone new (who wouldn't know these aren't supposed to be there) or for someone who played enough to basically be change-blind to things like that it is very missable.

  8. The issue is really that this game is so massive that a comprehensive guide to everything would be basically useless. It's much easier to just try to get information on specific thing you're doing or want to do right now, and even that can lead to a rabbit hole ("So, what is a good MR 4 weapon?" leads to "Wait, where did he get all those cool mods," which probably leads to "So, I need to farm (depending on the mod) void containers/bounties/derelicts, etc..." which all have other stuff you need to do before you can get there, which... You got the picture.)

  9. Anyway, the Index is playable as soon as you unlock the node, and the tutorial quest is locked behind TWW (and TWW is locked behind Sedna Junction) So, it's effectively useless to an actual new player, especially if they're determined to avoid spoilers, - by the time they get to the tutorial, they either figured it all out anyway, or won't care.

  10. Saw this several times while doing the nightwave task, with different animals, different graphics settings, and in different locations.

This particular one did work normally otherwise...

Not posting the screenshot itself, I just can't seem to get a good one, it's very obvious in motion though. (but if needed, I still have them.)

Here's the comment, if the exact location is important, I was below and slightly to the side of the track: /Lotus/Levels/Proc/CivilianHubs/VenusLandscape/JIKjNQwfnDGIIA.lp_255  Zone: TerrainZone126  P: 1268, 7.4, 354  H:63  Log: 1638.349

  11. Loot radar aura can be neat - not required, strictly speaking, but useful for  farming.

Steel Charge and Rejuvenation (so you have all polarities covered)

    Nitain

A helmet , if you got all of the above and/or have enough to buy whatever new auras are there next week isn't that bad, depending on where you are on the powergamer<->fashionista spectrum 😄 otherwise reactors and catalysts, to upgrade stuff and feed to the syndicates.

Sniper and shotgun ammo auras, maybe, just in case, probably the least value here. and that includes helmets 😄

  12. And speaking of YT warframe guides or forum recommendations... As someone who has a bit of misspent resources...  Always pay attention as to WHY a particular frame/build is recommended, whether you have the mods to really do the things  a build is supposed to do, and if you don't whether or not you can get them, and whether or not the ability would scale down well with lesser mods.

Speaking of Wukong, many guides advice getting Adaptation, which is an arbitration-drop mod, and Primal Rage for exalted builds. It would work well enough without either for most of the chart, so you may get away with not having them for a long while (and then, Adaptation can be bought from other players, and isn't particularly expensive, but you still need tradeable plat from somewhere to do that)

On the other hand, say, Limbo bubble isn't all that impressive without specific mods, but they're relatively easy to farm mid star-chart. (IIRC, anyway, don't quote me on this.)

In my opinion, any buffer frame or self healing like oberon or a shield one like nezha are not good for beginners because i feel that they become reliant on skills like those to keep them alive

I see your point, but, I personally think limiting yourself like that in the beginning is borrowing trouble for no good reason. The game is challenging enough for a new player as it is, there's nothing wrong with seeking any advantage you can get when you can get it, and learning more advanced stuff when you feel ready.

Look at Brozime's FTPlaythrough where he choose Volt as a starter. Sure, it wasn't really difficult for him, but he (let alone an actual newbie) would have had more fun with a different starter choice.

Try wukong hes easy to get from dojo research and easy to use for beginners.

6 nitain and, to an extent, other stuff can be a barrier to a new player though, unless they either planned beforehand or somehow intuited they'll need some NW credit for later. Prime requires less nitain but is MR-restricted (not to mention you'll need to farm or trade for the BPs.)

Other than that, as a new player with a Wukong I like its flexibility (The clone with a right weapon can be a serious DPS boost, 2 is a great movement, heal and vault-cheese power all in one, 3 is OK, and the staff can beat up high level mobs silly, even before you get the augment. ) But it kind of is master of none: it's not quite as tough as Rhino, or as stealthy as Loki, and Excalibur's blade is still a better exalted weapon, that doesn't rely as much on its augment (not to mention Excal has blind.)

  15. Nothing really, RNG just messing with you. I once had to run I think, 10 or so missions till I FINALLY got a couple crystals, but more typically you get a few without even looking that thoroughly...

To make it easier, pretend you're actually farming vaults. If you have access to it, the capture mission right after Neptune. whatsitsname... A frame with some kind of flight and/or death laser invulnerability or any frame and some  parkour skill advisable. The vaults would probably be disappointing, but you'll get argon on the way 😄  (I know, that's not how probability really works.)

  16. As long as you have most of the map unlocked and are ready to speed-grind, yes, all previous weekly challenges you haven't yet completed are accessible through the catch-up, even if you didn't have an account at all at the beginning.

If you don't it is possible to get stuck with something like Ropaloylist/Profit Taker/Tridolon blocking your catch-up challenge slots (the latter actually needed to even access catch-up this week.)

  17. Well, there will be Kuva Liches, it is heavily hinted that kuva and the MITW are somehow connected, and the liches' main power (you can't really kill them, they'll just re-spawn even stronger) is something you seemingly get from The Void (Captain Vor, and well, us...)

I'm pretty sure MITW is behind most of the seriously wrong things in Warframe-verse though I doubt we'll ever directly confront him.

  18. Don't forget to hoard oxium and to get grokdrul and irradite, and fish oil... The latter is easy, 3-4 big fishes should be enough, or you can catch more and trade the surplus back for rep (which you need to spend to get the fishing spear. You don't really need all 3.) There are tons of guides on Plains fishing.

Grokdrul and irradite are well, not difficult either, just very tedious. You equip thief's wit, go to the Plains, irradite is in those red and black rocks, grokdrul in yellow containers in grineer camps, and grineer supply vans (Big, horizontal cylindrical things with a console) can have some as well. So, you go, you grab some irradite, cause chaos in a couple nearby camps, return to Cetus, rinse, repeat. You may have better luck than me soloing bounties at low MR, since on teams if everyone else has the wing and you don't... Yea... A good clan (you need a clan to get the BP anyway) could help with that though, everyone understands the current system is dumb, and won't be surprised you need help.

K-drive from Venus gets scoffed at by the people, but it's actually not THAT bad. It's barely faster than bullet-jumping (and actually slower for an experienced jumper) but it lets you cross water at night safely, lets you easily disengage from bad situations, and it doesn't de-spawn your specters (archwing does) and  as long as you just ignore ventkids rep and stick to the freebie it  won't cause you grind fatigue.

Day/night: night has vomvalysts (flying skull things) which at this stage in the game you don't have a way to permanently damage, they'll just regenerate from the ghost form, but they're avoidable, and you can run away from them. The eidolons (which, again, are completely indestructible with the stuff you have now) are big, loud, don't really chase you and therefore are easily avoidable.

Ironically, Dragyns by the day are much greater danger - they will follow you no matter what and shooting them down can be tricky for a beginner, especially if you're attacked on the ground as well.  If you see one on the ground, you can kill the nearby pilot and/or play Grand Theft Dragyn for a while. They're not a reliable alternative to a wing, but, you can exploit an opportunity if you have it. (there's also an achievement for stealing Dragyns.)

At day there are also thumpers. They're randomly-spawning four-legged Grineer tank mini-bosses, they're tough, but they actually have good loot including possibly a fair amount of the stuff you need, so you may try your hand at hunting them (easier if you have a heal of some kind, and/or a slow.) Shoot at their kneepads, then at green vents on their knees, once all 4 vents are destroyed it explodes.  Ammo-efficient weapons (and both primary and secondary equipped) recommended, don't do it if you already have a good haul, it's better to run.

So, although the game tells you otherwise, night is actually somewhat safer, at least at those power levels.

  19. Simply forgetting they aren't in solo mode when they, say, wanted to thoroughly loot the whole map for caches/scans/ayatins (not usually done in PUG teams) or just wanted to see current bounties is a more likely reason. Or they just lagged out/crashed while loading.
