  1. Anything that requires me to repeat the same obnoxious and obsolete mission concept 10 times. Because I really dont need number 12 Vigor. No quest EVER should be more than 3 times. For repetitions sake. We ARE repeating the quests in the 10 week period anway. Do the math.

Also make it one sabotage with all caches found.

This is so boring and dull it isnt even funny.

LOL! Yes, the Toroid grind is unbearable, and hardly drops. There should be other ways of obtaining it.

You are aware that you only need a handful of the 3 regular toroids for ranking up and you can get pretty much all standings you need from the current event bossfight, right? Login hoping for a resource boost, do that fight a few times, easy level 5...

This is a LOT less obnoxious than the Quills. If you dont find Eidolons particularly interesting and you dont want to do them over and over and over and over again, you just dont have much of a way to level up the quills standings...

Even outside the bossfight, the Toroids arent too bad. Use the recruiting channel to find a group with one player that has a drop CHANCE booster active, have your own login reward or rare chest or sortie booster active, just grind it out in a bit. Really not awefully complicated to do, compared to other endurace tests in the game. I would argue getting shadow rank really is a lot easier to do than fortuna ranks.

  3. I had to read up on the fishing chain. Get some info for it. So long as these resources I could obtain were also linked to a mechanic that needs some looking up first to get the  idea, I REALLY dont mind figuring out the chain of fish you need to catch to get to a specific tier of fish...

Compare it to Fortuna. I looked into the shop of some identity-cleansed person that fortuna tries to sell me as a war hero when all he does is instruct me how to sniff poop more efficiently and how to do weird things to toasters floating in liquids that appear to be jelly.

At least in PoE I spent some time to figure out a system. When I get back to Fisher Hai-whatever, I know I loathe her voice enough to mute my PC for a few seconds, because I have a personal connection to her. But the Biz? I just Nothing him... As far as I am concerned, he and any other farm-turnin-point is trying to grasp my attention, dont really exist. And safe for Zuud, nobody ever left a mark. I just skim over content and breeze through the gates, not ever giving two Biz-fetish-waypoints about the NPC that I just talked to.

  4. When it comes to defense, there are 2 different ranges:

    - outward range, which doesnt get the job done if the enemy is too far away (Nyx Chaos, Loki Disarm)
    - or inward range, which defends a defenite job (Frost Bubble, Limbo stasis or Banish)

Hildryn has a short-ranged ourward in her 4, no inward range. That is fine. Its just, what is her application? Her Tempo is a lot slower than other more dynamic frames. So a medium to slow pacing is usually attributed to a defensive frame or a support frame. She doesnt have enough impact on any outward range that would make her viable on hold-your-ground-style missions like Interceptions (she can affect one Point but beyond that it is unrelyable) and she isnt made out for Engage-content because the other frames just out-pace her.

Cool concept, I got no idea what to do with her. What IS your intent, DE? Is design and aesthetics your only selling point? You did that with Nezha, and it took quite some effort to make THAT frame see play... Are we in that same area of design yet again? If that is your wish, I dont mind. But if you wanted to give us a tool for a specific task, we were so far unable to figure out what you wanted to tell us. Her 1 is strong, her 2 and 3 have some potential, her 4 is useful. None of these abilities OR the combination of abilties is raising Spock's eyebrow. It is just.... decently useful and I guess you can play it.

So yeah: DE, we as a community tried the frame for a bit and now we rarely if ever see somebody use it in a mission, like, not to level it to 30. Just like Wukong. Except you gotta respect Wukong, because he has some spots in the game where he really excels. Hildryn? The unique selling point is the Archwing gun, and one run at the Exploiter Orb tells you all you need to know about Archwing gun playability: OMG i get stuff faster with Amazon than I get a gun from Warframe. And changing back to your regular primary weapon is like calling the customer complaints hotline of the Tschernobyl power plant. Results may differ. And it may take you some time before something actually happens.

  5. See this is what I dont get: Ash is a frame that is really in a good place and everybody has a brilliant idea on how to make him even stronger, so that he becomes too played and then ultimately nerfed.

If you think any of his abilities are weak, cool, dont play him. If you think they are clunky, cool, dont play him.

Some players are actively working him out and are kinda happy with what they got.

If you have brilliant idea X to make ability Y more powerful, create a thread. If you want to debunk the OP, offer arguments. But dont spout your suggestions to make a strong Frame more OP in a thread labeled "Dont change him, please, hes in a good place right now"

Debate the topic or create your own OR just spam all your text in one of hundreds of other threads labeled "ASH NEEDS A REWOK BECUZ I DONT LIEK HIM!"

Reading is still tech. It hasnt change since the dawn of Forums Worldwide. If your opinion is just extremely loosely based on the topic at hand, maybe it is not the place to debate it. If I were a moderator here, I would have locked this by now, because of Verbal Fungus.

  6. My conclusion was Riven-style challenges. With lower mastery rank, the difficulty is lower by having fewer modifiers. Like "Achieve 10 headshot kills" and if you are above a certain mastery you get an added "with your secondary" and then if you are above 20 mastery rank "while playing solo". Since Riven challenges are established, more experienced players will likely not be confused by the modifiers, and new players get easy quests that dont scare them away.

There should be an option to reroll quests if you simply think they are no fun. Something that we can spend a day at the forge with, and a few resources that dont hurt much to spend.

Right now we have 2 weeks in a row of "Do 40 missions thank you very much" which is just abysmal. I already told my friends I grind to 30 even though I hate doing it, then I only login and quit again. I am fatigued. These things are so time consuming that anything we wanted to do in the past is pretty much impossible. Want to replay questlines? No chance, your playcard is full. Want to farm Focus? No chance, you got 3 open Elite challenges to do. Just want to login, forma an interesting gun and do 2 rifts? Not a rift challenge week, you better dont. Also dont forma stuff, we will ask you to forma stuff real soon, and you may run out of stuff to forma. Because we got Melee 3.0 coming up, so forma-ing any melee makes absolutely zero sense, and we absolutely nerfed the living heck out of the most forma-encouraging mechanic in the game (Rivens), so you should by now have absolutely no idea what even makes SENSE to forma. And since all our sorties seem to drop Ayatan garbage now, you dont even get a new riven for a weird gun, so yeah, please forma 3 items.

The way it is right now is not enjoyable, and I had hopes it would be modified into something good. But the story is poor and unengaging (who CARES about another assasin? If he doesnt show up it is as if the story wasnt even HAPPENING. That is just the opposite of good story telling) and the challenges are repetetive and over 50% of them are ridiculously time intense. And the communication is plain horrible, in terms of whats gonna happen, if the last week will have more quests for people to catch up, or just reward double or at least some of the quests not gonna be as ridiculous the second time around. Endless complains and no reply on what DE actually makes of all this.

    It is frustrating.

EDIT: Pleasing everybody is difficult. Right now you seem to have a few different cathegories of Feedback, summarized as:
    - "I cant play for a few weeks, so there isnt any way to get to level 30"
    - "I dont mind investing a lot of time into the quests, so dont dumb down the challenges just to please the low-MR-players"
    - "I simply dont enjoy doing 10 nightmares, 9 invasions, 10 relics and next week the same thing again"

There is a bit of a solution for that: Weekly modifiers. Set up the same amount of challenges per week as you do now, that seems fine. But add one weekly modifier. For example: "Every Nightmare mission you complete this week will give you 300 Nightwave standings". People that WANT to can then accelerate their farm, covering the gaps for non-play weeks. People that just need a few more points can hop into one nightmare and get something out of it. And there would still be enough regular challenges to complete rank 30. Please: Put all the really grindy challenges into a repeatable weekly gameplay modifier that will give you a reward for every time you do it. That should motivate the really grindy players, and the players that dont enjoy that can simply ignore them and do challenges that dont take as much time to complete.

  7. A couple of patches back, the behaviour of the minimap objective waypoints changed. I now have to backtrack a lot, because the waypoints point into the opposite direction of what is actually correct a lot of the time. Is there any plan to resolve this? It used to work somewhat decently (except for submersible missions), but now it is "enter new tile and take a 3 seconds timeout to wait for the minimap to catch up" a lot.

Did DE talk about this at some point?

You do realise that that's how conversations work right? I try to explain what makes sense to me, and you try explain what makes sense to you, and together we may find some common ground in the middle.

As far as I can tell much of what you were ranting about had nothing to with nightwave. You were complaining that you don't enjoy doing what it asks us to do, which is "play different parts of the game".

You seemed to complain that all of the missions are accessible to all. But that's just not true. So it doesn't make sense, as the facts belie it.

You also complained about not understanding what hacking to get past security and disable alarms have to do with stealth. I hope you can understand why that didn't make sense to me, as both of those are stealth elements, and we can skip many of them if we like using the ciphers. Hell a lot of the time I just Rhino it to run through the enemies and lasers, and use the ciphers to open the databases before the time runs out. Maybe if you explain why that's not a viable option to you it would help everyone to understand the situation more?

It's one thing to claim that someone has gotten stuff wrong, and another to show it. Why not take a moment to express yourself?

Yeah the whole trying to silence people who don't automatically agree with you tactics don't work well in discussion forums.

And really you seem to be infuriated by a lot of things. Is everything ok with you outside of the game?

    ROFL

If you think your cheap parlor tricks to get into somebodys head have any effect on those that know about the backgrounds of them, you are wrong xD

And you mastered your art of proving you THINK you know what the other person thinks and keep talking instead of listenting. You got every single thing wrong. Totally wrong. Good job!

As far as the real life thing goes: If you have conversations the same way in real life as you do here, people around you consider you a bit of a #$&(% but cant QUITE put the finger on it what is so exhausting about you, no?

Emphasis added. I wonder how much you would have supported people who only did half of an event or bailed halfway through an alert, if they'd demanded to get the rewards anyway.

I hope that you understand why you wanting a reward NOW, and not wanting to do what's required for the reward, are fine, but they don't mean that you should be given the reward.

Uh no they can't. Lua missions are locked behind quest-line progression isn't it?

Uh... Seeing as how they're space ninjas, it's probably pretty likely?

Pretty sure that picking locks to get into secure locations and disabling security systems would be a big part of "stealth". That's what we use hacking for, isn't it?

And for regular spy missions there are ciphers, they don't work for sorties and nightmare but calling in air support to freeze the timer for a while is pretty great.

Again if playing the game is not enjoyable to you, then nightwave really isn't the problem that you are having. It seems that you don't enjoy playing the game.

You write things that make sense to YOU but to me it is just as if you aimed to answer and then just talked off topic. So I guess you feel rather pleased with your replies and I cant be arsed to tell reply to your every assumption and tell you how much you missed the point. Just know this: You missinterpreted pretty much every thing I said and repeated whatever you "argued" in this topic before. I kinda see now how you got yourself into a lot of arguments. You dont seem to read very well. You have premade assumptions of reasonings behind people's opinions, then you show off how you can "logically" dismantle that. Your premade assumptions however are wrong. So everthing you said isnt even CLOSE to the topic. Just... dont even reply? Please? It just infuriates me how you spout things that SOUND right and have nothing to do with what I was saying.

So you have no use for Forma, Kuva, Weapon Slots, Warframe slot, Wolf Creds?

Wolf creds can give me my golden potatoe number 20 and my blue potatoe number 21. You tell me what I think. As for the other things you mentioned: I dont. I have access to missions and relics by now. I am not a beginner. The time spent to rewards gained ratio does NOT work out for me, except for the unique rewards. And of those, I dont really care for much but the Forma, and the Arcane because you cant guarantee a drop of that in the time you spent. It seems reasonable. Some plat for a weapon slot? I can run popular radshares and sell the stuff and make more plat (and that way, more equivalent weapon slots) in the same time. It is good for beginners. It isnt relevant for people that can gain that stuff in other ways.

Depends on the player, I'd say. Some people have managed to max it out already. Others will soon. By week 8 many more people will have gotten all of the rewards since the system is made to allow us to complete the tiers with about 60-65% of the possible standing from the challenges.

Missing a week won't completely scuttle the whole affair the way it would in most events we've had to date. That's what I was replying to.

    https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1073526-nightwave-alerts-removal-feedback/?do=findComment&comment=10647922

And when I presented the math to show that, the goal post shifted to "what if I don't have that amount of free time."

    https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1073526-nightwave-alerts-removal-feedback/?do=findComment&comment=10648570

So it sounds like a case of "what if I just can't complete the challenges" to which the response has always been "well I guess that you won't get all the rewards". In the past that would have meant potentially not getting any, but as Tatakai said at least this way we get something to show for it. Which is nice.

Oh, you mean that you don't like to do the missions that are pretty much the majority of the game Warframe?

Yeah... I could see how that might be a downer when playing Warframe... having to play the game and all.

So is your suggestion that they make a challenge where you can just not do any of the challenges? Because that kinda seems like the only way to alleviate the boredom that you feel when playing warframe. Or did you have something else in mind?

Well I invested quite a bit of time because I am closing in on rank 23. I want the rewards now. I cant be arsed to play the "just do stupid missions until your eyes bleed" quest this week. Yes everybody can finally complete the challenges. So my thanks to you, dear forum. When before it at least LOOKED like somebody made an attempt to show us more underplayed and less frequented parts of the game, now it is just "sit here for 10 hours, thank you very much". Do you not think i played regular old missions enough? Do you think a space ninja equipped with lasers, whips, hand held rocket launchers and the power to ignite the air itself at their fingertips wants to play SPY missions? THEY ARE THE EQUIVALENT OF A MOBILE GAME AND I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW NOBODY SEES THAT! Fruit ninja provides more long term motivation than this ridiculous ****-fest they call "hacking". Somebody pls tell me how THAT is part of a sneaking/fast paced elimination/hold your ground experience? I had high hopes for the Moa to hack for me, but somehow that thing is so buggy i cant even take him to solo missions and expect him to hack for me. But thats a different story. You wanted to know why i am ticked off. This week has nothing to offer. At all. I just do it because by now I already am too far in to pass up on the ranks and not far enough in to say I know for sure I can skip all this boredom.

Not true, you get 30 rewards for reaching rank 30. Every rank up until the point you decide to not continue gives you rewards. So it is not for naught.

Not true... I get a lot of trinkets i have no use for. I do it for the Umbra and the Arcane. Maybe if I yolo it for the Armor set. All of them are pretty deep in there. And I feel fatigue now, being asked to do just a ton of missions this week. Just... missions. Nothing of any remote interest. Just one dull mission after another. I play as long as I can bear it and then log off, looking at the Borderlands 3 trailer and wondering what that will be like to play.

    How is this not better?

Because it is a 10 weeks time investment. If at some point you dont have the chance anymore to continue to progress, you have lost quite a lot. Also if you after 8 weeks feel fatigue, you force yourself to continue because otherwise everything you have done before would have been for naught. And that feeling blows.

Not quite true really. Shamelessly quoting myself here:

QUOTE: Food for thought: There is a quest system implemented into the game that doesnt try to bore us to death by saying "Do 10 nightmare missions, even though you by now have everything they are good for and it is just plain annoying when we make EVERY nightmare mission have Energy Drain Modifier"

Give us Riven-Like quest cards instead of this endurance test, stuff like "Kill 10 enemies (while wall running) (and while you only have a melee weapon equipped) (and while undetected). The higher your mastery, the more of these modifiers are added. Then allow us to reroll these quests by spending Nano Spores, Gallium and Alloy Plates if we think they suck. The more you played the game, the less patience and use you will have for stuff like the suggested 10 nightmare missions or 4 Vault runs. You think I enjoy stuffing another Overextended into my collection? Especially now since so many people were forced to do Vault runs, now EVERYBODY has them and they are absolutely useless?

Give us a combination-challenge system that we can reroll if we feel its ridiculous. Make the Quest difficulty depend on the mastery. If you think it is too hard, you can reroll the quest by using resources with ONE recepie keeping the mastery difficulty the same, one leveling the difficulty up and one leveling the difficulty down. Please use resources we HAVE for being patient with the game for many years, not resources you think are fancy and we think are garbage, like Arbitration Essence (its garbage and you know it)

  14. Yep, thats a solid 100% ripoff. If your task wouldnt have been "Design a radio host and make it a cool one" I would have believed Hommage, but you may sell it as Hommage to your boss. To me, its just ripping off the design as a whole.

I actually always believed she was ripping off Ursula Rucker. Search on youtube for "Ursula Rucker - Release your Heart" for reference.

  15. Up till now my feedback was pretty much positive, but this week is an absurd piece of $*** in terms of quests.

DE: there has been feedback. Dont tell me you didnt see that. We didnt WANT to run 40 missions. And we sure as HELL dont want to run spy on Lua with a pub team that searches for the Halls of Annoyance while we stealth around for 150 endo rewards.

Wake up! If you keep the quests like THAT there will be fatigue. Pretty soon too, because the weeks are back to back to back to back to back to back to....

Keep the system, adjust the quests.

EDIT: Food for thought: There is a quest system implemented into the game that doesnt try to bore us to death by saying "Do 10 nightmare missions, even though you by now have everything they are good for and it is just plain annoying when we make EVERY nightmare mission have Energy Drain Modifier"

  16. I got an absolute metric S***ton of failed mission join attempts to my name. Not sure if it is limited to the first mission after login, but I will keep an eye on that. It is absolutely driving me up the wall. I just actually ENTERED a mission, saw my teammates in the spawn location, got a message "Host unreachable", was kicked to the orbiter (with a mission success message even though i knew for a fact that this mission was beginning just when I spawned. I know the spawning rooms, and I saw the objective marker on the minimap) and THEN the game says "your previous session was interrrupted, do you want to be reconnected to the squad?". This BS usually results in me having a chance to re-select a relic, but in this particular case I just got warped right back into the mission with no relic equipped.

JEEEZ what is going on with matchmaking?????

  17. It does break the flow, especially if you arent the one triggering the cutscene, like in Assasinations.

If it is a lot of work to get it done, they will probably not take action. But if its not too bad to do, maybe we have a chance. I got a feeling quite a few people would want to not have to skip 2 cutscenes every time they enter a Relay. I for one hate that.

If you want, you can create a topic about the reward pool of the arbitrations...

  19. I know all of the arguments out there, and I know you could buff him of course, so that he is even better. I dont think that makes sense, though. Thats why I said "Dont change him". That includes dont buff him. He is pretty darn useful as it is anyway. If he becomes even stronger, there would be endless complains about the "ASH RUINS EVERY MISSION I PLAY!", which ultimately results in nerfs again.

Right now he is a special snowflake that not many people learned to appreciate, but I am quite convinced, those that did learn to appcreciate him are quite happy atm. They are flying under the radar a bit with a frame and a kit that is strong and not popular. You cant NERF Ash right now, he has hardly any followers as it is. You shouldnt BUFF him, people would get annoyed if he pops up often. You dont need to rework him either because he is in a great place.

Thats the TLDR pretty much: Dont touch him, if you ask me. You did give him some great toys to play with, and I for one appreciate them.

Grinding in a lootgrind game should be the fun. Usually, it is.

So wait grinding in the past was fun, now it isnt?

How about you dont try to do all 10 Syndicate missions in one gameplay sitting? You do one or two, then you check what else is still open and do that instead. At least thats what I do. I feel no pressure, I do what I want to and then log off when I want to do something else. My quests this week are almost all started but not finished, and I will clean up some of that later today or tomorrow, when I feel like doing so.

I really dont mind most of the quests... Some are a bit more dull, most of them are fine. Doing 20 infested salvage to grind for Nidus was painful no matter which way you look at it... back then there was only one mission to do if you wanted a specific item You knew "I need to grind out a lot of the same thing until i got what I need, or I waste my time doing something like relics, or I log off and play something else". Now 10 quests each week progress me further in the standings, not just ONE mission I am supposed to play until my eyes bleed. I call this grind a big improvement overall, and I hope for a few tweaks to the things we are supposed to do.

  21. I dont know about making targeting any easier... I really understand where you are coming from with it, its just, with that change he would eat a lot of energy that you didnt intend to spend. The cone for targeting was something I read before, and I thought about, and I dont think it would be an improvement. Yeah people would have an easier time to p4tw, but for that there is Mesa. To balance out the greater amount of enemies hit by the 4, you would have to reduce its effectiveness. And I wouldnt like that.

Right now Ash is surprisingly viable in level 60 to 120 content, not based on his 4 but based more on his 1 and 3 Augments, as well as the fact that his Invisiblity is CC and defense wrapped into one skill. If the 4 hits more enemies easier, and the damage would be reduced to prevent him from being the new lazy gamer meta, then his skillset would suddenly be divided into stuff that works well on medium to high level enemies and stuff that doesnt. The 4 is incorporated into the flow, but only if its meaningful in terms of results. If you have to knock down every enemy manually or with your 3 or soften them up with your 1, then the flow is pretty much gone...

  22. With Nightwave, I was required to do some finishers. Since I am lazy but I rememebered that Ash has an augment for that, I dug him up. Havent played him since the rework. I found the rework to be bad. Most people apparently have had a similar experience.

Well, I changed my mind. When I played him for the Nightwave quest, I noticed that his Skill kit is quite useful. So I started reading, experimenting, building and tweaking. And I came to the conclusion that he is great the way he is.

There is a lot of feedback on what needs to change and what should be done to make him better. Please dont. Most suggested changes I read would just make him OP-NEW-META or take away from his gameplay. It is not the frame, or the skillset. It is us. I used to hate his skills, the Invis seemed too short, the bladestorm seemed clunky, the shuriken seemed meh at best, the teleport seemed useless.

That has changed. I am still learning, sure, but I start to combine his 4 abilities into one fluid gameplay. More fluid than any other frame I play regularly. A LOT more fluid. And I didnt expect that. Like, at all.

When reading this you may ask yourself, is this reverse psychology? Is this a joke, some sarcastic topic just to troll people? It isnt.

All I do know is that in a lot of topics where people complain about how Ash should be changed, some actual Ash players (that came to the same conclusion as me, it seems) say that his kit isnt so bad, he just needs some adjustment from the mindset of the player.

Please dont change anything about him, and very important, about his supporting equipment. I noticed there is a heckofalot of stuff you can use in your build (arcanes and melee, of course, at the forefront. But these will also affect what rifles make sense on him, for example. Or which pets) that will have a much bigger impact on his behaviour than most other frames I played so far.
