I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks what's above. I've always found scopes to be quite useless in this game. I mean sure they provide distance to the target and a way to track bonuses I guess? but so what? such infos could be easily shown next to the regular crosshair or by the name of the weapon that has such scopes (snipers, ar and even pistols).
I don't get why after 10 years that this game has existed, DE keeps on having scopes on some guns, why would they purpously not allow you to see some guns you're using (and their beautiful designs for that matter) by covering your whole screen with some nonsense filigree? (I know you can disable this in the option, don't tell me about it).
Take the Buzlok for example, what's the point of its scope? knowing the name of the target you locked on... Mmh ok, could do with an aoutline over the enemy in question.
Or the knell, ammo efficiency on headshot... Do we really need a scope for that? Couldn't we be told that with an icon next to our shield? like many other bonuses we have in the game already?
I've provided a quick mockup I did in photshop (nothing to fancy) where I rearranged some of the UI of a scope, in this case the Vectis', in order to see it fired "over the shoulder".
I have no ideas if this post will be looked up by someone, if anyone agrees with what I said and if it'll get notice for DE to even notice it, but I like to think that I'm not the only one who's been pondering about some scopes changes for the last years.
Let's hope that one day we will be able to aim some beautiful scoped guns over our warframes' shoulders.
