  1. I'm just going to come out and say it!

I am the nicest person in warframe yes I am, I just refuse to ever show an ounce of selfishness towards any player out there.

And that act will not go unnoticed no not today it will not what I have here is proof or what they call evidence, to make sure my good deed doesn't go unnoticed so people of warframe can look up to this and be like well wow that's a good guy ill tell you what!

    Enough blabbering here it is:

"Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."

  2. I am not watching chat. I think you completely misunderstand the problem. Text griefers have hijacked the text area and make it difficult to interact with folks trying to advertise and/or setup squads. Difficult to the point were I will just leave.

Like any MMO (especially coop based), some careful thought needs to be put into setting up mechanics, for if griefing is possible it will occur. It's naive to think otherwise.

I have seen this behavior before. It will become more of a problem as more bored attention seeking kids realize they can get a way with it.

The squad recruiting mechanics are poor when functioning without this behavior. And for me, intolerable with it. Surely a lot more people walk away (or play less) due to this issue than leave because they think melee needs a buff.

Yeah i agree with the text griefers being a problem, no doubt.  What i meant was, that stuff tend to happen in region chat, and region chat is not really necessary for use if you are looking for recruitment and trading.  I find that people do not mess around much in the "trade" and "recruit" tab.  I assumed that you were referring to "region" chat tab, because that is where the text griefers reside.

For example, in the entire year that i played this game, i never once met anyone through "region" chat.  That's how pointless it is to me, and I have met lots of people in this game simply by being teamed with them.  In other words, people can ignore region chat to bypass the text griefers and still meet people and enjoy the game.  The chat mechanic is a different issue.  That's all I was saying.

And as I said before, i agree that the chat system does need serious improvement over all.  it's not at all efficient.

As with the griefing, I think if DE actually cared about what's going on in chat, they would actually do something about it.  The DEkickbot is not enough.

  3. Is there any chance of getting an updated system for grouping in the near future or at least get some admins to monitor the channels?  I found it so irritating tonight that I logged off after only a few minutes of play.  I only forsee this problem getting worse.

I have seen the foolishness you speak of happening in the region chat.  I understand how you can be frustrated about this.  However... is it really that important that you sit and watch and even read that foolishness while you play this game?  I realized that when I am busy playing the game, I don't see the region chat.  I found that when I actually do make online friends through this game, that I don't have to deal with foolishness in chat.  Even more so, when I join a clan or start one, I don't have to deal with such foolishness.  Also I have people I can team up with in this game that I trust will not be foolish.  In fact, in every online game of massively multi-players that have a chat window, I noticed the same kind of foolishness, so I am inclined to believe that this "worsening problem" is everywhere, not just in Warframe.

With that said, I can only imagine that the problem has nothing to do with the chat system or how it was created.  The problem is human behavior.

I do agree with you on a couple of things though.  A keen squad grouping system would be useful and would better help properly group the some players with the right players according to rank and such.  A more convenient trading system would be a dream come true, rather then having to create a clan or be in a clan to participate in a trade.  If there will soon be a social hub added on to this game, that would be the perfect setup for a new and proper trade system.  Yes, recruitment should be better than just some chat window tab.  Maybe a window is needed where there are grouping queues that will say X mission, X players at X rank, in need of X number of participants to begin this arranged team for a mission.  I have seen this in other games, and they work well.  Why not this game?

  4. I explained this in some detail, but for the the word "permanent" is a bit too absolute. Lets call the warframe power slots semi-permanent; meaning that on place things in there and they stay until you move them...or like in my examples...have a LEFT and RIGHT arrow on each of the 1-4 ability slots so that once you get a new warframe ability mod, the generic ones you can then click on the left and right arrows to toggle between the abilities..so they are fixed in place still...not a mod still..but have the ability to cycle through different abilities that are bound to that action number.

To make it simple...warframe signature powers..the abilities that warframes are "BORN" with like a slash dash etc, are automatically equipped in a side area,

But once you gain the generic warframe ability mods (that are soon to be released) a left or right arrow will light up signaling you that you can now use a different ability on the number 1 power...or the number 3 power..depending on what you picked up.

These new generic warframe abilities like regular MODS can be collected, leveled up and sold away.

They would level up through use, so as long as you have the ability mod equipped it will be gaining levels independently.

So having them in the fall into your mod collection perhaps in a special area, for like aura mods and warframe generic abilities would be a good idea.

    Okay.  That makes sense.  Thanks.

  5. Not every veteran has to go fast.

I have had fast teams that worked very well in clearing everything. Then I have had teams where one member ran to the target, grabbed it and then waited for five or so minutes at the extraction -because he was in a hurry- and left the rest of us to fight our way out. And everything in between.

Then -and this is my ABSOLUTE favorite memory of rushers- there was the time I was playing Loki and was helping a noob who was playing his third or fourth game. Two rushers ran all the way to the end and the noob disconnected. Ragequit or whatever, dunno. The rushers ignored all the mobs between the artifact and the end. Not important, you know. So there were 30+ bad guys in a room when I ran into it. Ran in, ran out with a whole bunch of Grineer chasing me. All the while, the rushers who I am being rude to in delaying are screaming at me and calling me names. So I entered the extraction zone, and stopped JUST short of the exit. They had been using up all of their energy, so they only had their guns when the 30+ Grineer followed me into the room. I hit invisibility and walked out. I laughed and laughed and laughed as they died, revived and died again. Both of THEM ragequit.

Ah, the memories. Haven't managed to do that since. Maybe someday.

    That's totally hilarious!

  6. I've been having trouble following and understanding clearly the lore of this game, so I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about.  However, I thought about what it is I do know, and in speculation I'm guessing that there could be a schism among the Tenno.  One side are the traditional types that hold true to the virtuous way of the Tenno, living according to honor and such -- samurai passion.  The other side are the fallen types, warped and twisted by greed and self-serving lust for power and wealth and nearly senseless bloodshed.  The fallen types are perhaps what Stalker gripes about during the missions.  Perhaps the traditional types are what Stalker hates because they are killing the people that hired him.  Perhaps Stalker is killing (all) Tenno because of what they did in the past during the wars, whatever that bad deed may be.  It seems to me that the lore would be quite interesting if the game involved fragments of the forgotten past to surface, sort of like the past comes to haunt you kind of thing or simply unfolding historical secrets.

I don't know.  With Badlands, I feel clueless, or even more clueless than before.  We don't know the story behind it yet, not really.  As I hear or read more about "Badlands", I can't help but to notice that this game may be following the same patterns of Star Trek Online.  Not to put down the game or the developers, but it seems like a gimmick of some kind.  In STO, there came the development of clan content for end game, most of which I think ruined the game even further than the problems it already had -- because the developers did not want to stretch the game out any further.  It involved "fleet" grinding, which in this game's case is the same as "clan" grinding content.  Maybe creating Badlands in Warframe was a way to keep people interested in the game once they get to the highest rank and max out all their gear and equipment.  However, it does seem that this concept is a good way to make the game a lot more social, but I'm not sure yet at what cost.  The devs did say they will eventually put more lore into this game, but I personally feel that if they don't do it soon, people's interest in this game will drop.  Or more people will make accounts and play just to have a good time fighting each other with no care in the world what the lore is.

I personally can't see why the Tenno would simply fall away from their code of virtue (assuming they have one), unless there is a schism where one group maintains the order of Tenno ways and the other group wish not to.  That to me makes plenty of sense (in lore) as to why Tenno would fight each other over things like locations and resources and such.

  7. I built Valkyr because I saw how much hate went on in the region chat in-game, and so I was curious to find out for myself what is wrong and what is right with this warframe.  As I played her, leveled her up and such, but I found that I did not need Hysteria at all except for when I wished not to die or when i need to revive teammates.  Also I found it useful to rush through mobs rather than needlessly fight.  All her other abilities, I find satisfactory, except for some aspects of Rip Line.  I agree that they should make some changes, because the concept and mechanics of this warframe are quite cheap and sloppy in my opinion.

Most of what is wrong with Valkyr (in my opinion) is the kind of animation applied.  Why not have her travel in a hunched, feral-like fashion with her hands open to better express the use of her energy claws?  Why not have her move extremely fast (from a speed boost as part of the power,) like a wild animal (which i assume the warframe itself is styled after), and have her swing her arms and claws like a feral monster or angry cat?  Why not use motion blur to express the speed at which she swings her claws to melee?  Why have her float above the ground during hysteria melee action, (as seen in many anime shows,) instead of allowing for her to run along the ground and be able to leap, catch, pounce, claw, and maul her targets?  Why not have it so that each time you kill a target, it extends the duration of hysteria until you run out of targets to kill while in that state?  I would assume that she is like that of X-Men's Wolverine but without the retractable metal blades and colorful spandex.  There are some ways to go about it so that Valkyr would not resemble Marvel Comics (or anime) in any way.

Rip Line: This is a good concept but bad application, due to mechanics.  Why is it that we can only travel far when aiming the laser cable upward?  Would it not be most effective to work well in all directions?  In this case it would feel more like a warframe power and not some toy weapon that might resemble something like Power Rangers.  To improve this mechanic would also make Valkyr more dynamic and perhaps more useful when using Rip Line.  Perhaps if it actually had an arrowhead-like hook at the end, it would seem to be more fun of a power to use and to see -- perhaps by holding the button like a charge attack, it would actually puncture or skewer targets like a spear.  Also, it would be better to also treat it as a multipurpose tool, to help the warframe climb terrain or perform acrobatic feats that would best benefit her and teammates in battle, (in addition to climbing or launching from place to place on maps in any direction.)

These are the things that ran through my mind when using Valkyr.  Just some thoughts.
