  1. Logging in really quick for this... because, boy, are there some baaad weapons in this game.

    Here we go:

    - Aklex

    - Bronco

    - Burston

    - Ceramic Dagger

    - Cestra

    - Dual Cestra (these were really disappointing for me, plus they clip horribly)

    - Embolist

    - Grinlok

    - Hek

    - Hind

    - Lex

    - MK1 Series (which clearly serves a purpose, it just wasn't a necessary purpose)

    - Nami Skyla

    - Plasma Sword (so disappointing!)

    - Spectra

    - Strun

    - Twin Vipers

    - Viper

    - Vulkar

That's the extent of my experience.  I hated all of these weapons and got rid of them, except for the Grinlok (whick has incredible accuracy that might one day be useful) and the Ceramic Dagger (purely for dagger variety).

  2. I think the problem with the Archwing is that at least the Default Archwing stuff should have been easier to level up.

It's all very neat but I wasn't really looking for a whole new array of Mods to collect with superfresh gear while learning the ropes again.  I ran one mission on a Fomorian and it wasn't enough to keep me coming back, especially after I had to do some stuff unrelated to the event to even get into the mission.  Omega Isotopes were a bad idea.  Making a disruptor each time isn't fun.

  3. Man, the only thing I've got to say about this is that it's been a while since we've seen some new Sentinel parts show up.

The Para Carrier bits were the last to hit the Market, and... well... let's just say the tail was a goddamned anchor.  Head and wings were okay, but it wasn't a homerun.

Even the Summus tail part was pretty weak.  Why are the tails largely garbage?  Thorax?  Capsule?  So many bad tails.

    Hm.

  4. DE is doing an incredible job of developing and supporting this game.

I don't play it so much these days, since I played the hell out of it months ago and burned out on my mad dash to Mastery Rank 16, but months later I am still admiring the changes and additions to the game.  It's a very worthy thing.

I don't think your fears for the longevity of the game are warranted at the moment.  If the playerbase gets too washed out, they can easily revitalize it with larger squad missions, PvP revamp, and some engaging Raid missions that are on exotic maps that aren't procedurally generated.

And that's just off the top of my head, at nearly 6AM EST, while wishing a sleep aid had taken effect hours ago.

  5. I skimmed the thread but I feel pretty confident in saying that the most important post in this thread was post #2, in which it was said that Shotguns need Falloff removed as shot Spread should be the factor that prevents them from being very useful at range.

So like... you know.  Give it a try.  See if just that change sorts everything out.  Ditch Falloff.

  6. I won't even play in the Void anymore on my own.  I pop in for my Daily Mission bonus for some gear I steadily work on, hit the big events, and that's it.

There's still stuff I need in the Void, but screw the loot tables.  I'd rather just play something else entirely, like lame-&#! Destiny.

  7. That just kinda furthers my point, guys; people are selling the garbage Lato and Skana because they're not worth taking up slots that came with the Renown Pack.

Those are nice skins, but there's an old saying about trying to polish excreta.

  8. Cosmetic content does not affect your actual gameplay experience.

This is how Free-to-Play games operate when they're walking the high road.

The only real issue is how expensive some of these shows of support for the game can be.  Prime Targis Armor at the tune of $59.99 is pretty obscene, even with the boosters bundled in, and DE needs to provide these things separately so their players have better choices on how they want to support the game.

Right now, a great many people have chimed in that they're going without the Prime Accessories or Prime Access this time around, which will probably cost DE money in comparison to a  business model that included friendlier costs or better diversified options.  This is probably going to become more dangerous for them as the game ages and the playerbase struggles to maintain interest, particularly in the late game.

  9. Prime Accessories pack is $59.99 on PlayStation 4.

    That's the cost of a @(*()$ game.

I was looking forward to a set of Prime Armor for a while, but I'm not going to drop that kind of money on a game that I've kinda played out.  I already got the Prime Accessories Pack that preceded it.  DE will just have to be happy with that amount of support.  I've given them rather a lot of money for a game I've enjoyed, but it's also a game whose ultimate fate is unknown.  Sony has already ripped the servers out from under two things I enjoyed and spent money on, I have no idea what DE has planned for when they stop supporting the game, or how long Sony will continue their relationship.  I can't invest myself in anymore games to that degree only to arrive at a day where they're actually unplayable.

Otherwise, they need to separate the boosters and cosmetics and enable their players to have better, stronger choices for how they would like to support the game and get some shiny things or whatever.

  10. This is ridiculous and weirdly disrespectful of the game and its tone.

There had to be a non-goofy alternative.  Or at least a less goofy alternative, like Sentinel masks.

I hope the donation drive goes well, but ... this is really, really goof and doesn't fit.

EDIT:  I see that the item is only usable through November, so I withdraw my Mr. Complainy-Pants remark, but am leaving it up because transparency.

  11. Putting a Catalyst and throwing some mods on a weapon doesn't make it special.

That Catalyst and the mods are better used on some other weapon.  All things the same, weak-&#! starter gear is always weak-&#! starter gear.

Throw four Formae on it and it'll be a real contender, sure.  But those four Formae would have been better spent on something else entirely.

See where I'm going with this?  :D

  12. It feels pretty good to be freakin' right about this.  Aww yeah.

I do feel it important to add that, if the Tenno transcended physical bodies, that doesn't mean they're just energy beings - that carries with it certain weird connotations, I think.  It might be better to think of them as spirits of a sort, where the conscious human is commuted into a weaponized ghost, in many machines, that transcended even that when touched by the Void.  Maybe they are superfuture intelligences, synaptic imprints of humans committed to technology so that they may be timeless and indestructible, their bodies truly only tools to better manipulate reality.

Many Tenno operating Many Warframes each.

  13. It is nice to hear that the Lato and Skana are provided and each have Catalysts, but this is still a skimpy Renown Pack that services some really weak novice gear, that doesn't supply a Primary weapon, and didn't bother copy-and-pasting the skins into Aklato and Dual Skana skins.

  14. The game needs a sort of mechanism to join a match that needs folks.  Perhaps with a little bonus to incentivize filling out a roster.

Think of it like ... answering a call for help.  Answer the Call.

Every public game without a full squad has an active queue to be filled with reinforcements.

Players can choose to just "Answer the Call" and be shuffled into a mission where they are needed.  If enough people are answering calls for reinforcements, maybe weight respondents by levels, solar map access, and codex ratings.  Whatever.

The important thing is a Queue for people to enter and be dropped into any match to fill up the squad.\

    (Voids Keys need this, too.)

  15. Yeah, I'm not going to shrug off the platinum, but we can't deny that the platinum is not the selling point.

If this Renown Pack were sans platinum, it would not be very attractive.

In comparison, the Obsidian Syandana stands on its own as a cosmetic item (albeit one with, confoundingly, no color customization at all) since it isn't dependent on anything else.  As a Syandana, it can be perpetually relevant.

The Lato and Skana lose relevance pretty much As Soon As Possible.  As soon as you can get another Secondary and another Melee weapon, players bid adieu to the Lato and Skana.

And, furthermore, it says a lot that they wouldn't copy-and-paste the Obsidian Skins for the Lato and Sakana onto the Aklato and Dual Skanas.  The lack of a Primary to round off the set was also pretty bizarre and contributed to this pack's lack of drive to sell itself through worthwhile content.

    Again, great skins, woefully squandered.
