Braton Prime is a fine weapon, if you like how it works. It can be used as a status weapon. It might not be the best, but it can clear all existing content without much issues, when properly modded. If you think it's not cutting it, it means it's not probably not properly modded. Did you add an orokin catalyst on it? A few formas? Do you have the staple mods on it? (Serration, Split Chamber, a few elemental mods, and other useful mods). Feel free to share a screenshot of your Braton Prime with its mods.
After that, if you still want to change primary, what type of weapon do you want? Shotgun? Burst Rifle? Sniper? It's really hard to recommend a weapon without more info. Also, keep in mind most if not all weapon are viable for the end-game Warframe has to offer.
I'll post pics when I get home but I have it geared to status ATM. It has a catalyst but no forma as i'm unsure if it's worth investing any in it. It also already has all the staple mods like serration and multishot in it. I would like another assault rifle as an alternative for a replacement option

1. How long have you been playing Warframe? What keeps you coming back? 5 years, constant flow of new stuff to do or grind for.
2. What, in your opinion, “makes” a Warframe player? What kind of qualities and behaviors do you expect from fellow players? People that are willing to go the extra mile for something.
3. What is your personal view of the community as a whole? What’s the best part about the community? The worst? I think the community is one of the better ones I've seen. Everyone seems really chill most of the time and helps out people that are just starting out. Even though nobody talks in game, their is always this vibe of looking out for eachother and sharing in successes. Sometimes it can get pretty toxic though to changes.
4. Can you think of a time when you’ve felt supported by your fellow players, or the Warframe community at large? Just alot of little things that add up, from people helping me with a hard mission or farming for a hard to get mod. It's really nice that people are willing to help you out.

If you add that new healing mod to helios destructor melee wepaon, and it gets a status, will it heal it?

Haven't we always been? Kid yammers about the corpus worshiping money but the tenno are basically mercenaries.
