Sorry for not responding, been away from the computer.  I appreciate the effort you've put into these and they do look nice (that last one doesn't really look bad at all honestly), but I've got a lot of reworking to do before I figure out just what I want for the emblem.  I kinda jumped into this after getting some basic ideas because I've been wanting an emblem but after some feedback I realized things needed a lot of work and toning down.

    you can have clan name under the emblem but it wont be visible as you might imagine it and if you're going to use the emblem on dojo flags it might be inverted... writings on clan emblems dont look good

     

    Platinum I can do depending on how much you want..

    That image looks rather nice, needs to be smoothed out a bit though and the outline should be much larger and smoke/ghostlike.

     

     

    As for the writing, I kind of figured it wouldn't work out that well but I wanted to get a bit more color into the emblem other than black, white and the brownish orange from Ember Prime's arms.  This is a clan dedicated to The Fair Lady from Dark Souls who is all about humanity, spiders and lava so I was hoping to get lava in there somehow.

     

    Like the Edit to the main post says, forget it, going to do some more work on the concept itself.

  3. I'm in need of assistance from someone willing to help create an emblem for my clan, Children of Chaos.

     

    I'm basically wanting this (So sorry for the horrible quality, photo and drawing wise):

    But with the Lotus symbol having the style of Humanity from Dark Souls:

    Black inside, smokey white outline/outside.

     

     

    You'll notice The Lotus in the drawing is different from the basic form because the extra branches off of the main symbol don't curve back in but out.

    I was wanting them to look like a spider legs instead of curling back into the symbol and creating those little swirls on the bottom. There are also two extra branches on each side, 8 legs and all that.

     

     

    I was wanting the arms to be those of Ember Prime, palms up as if presenting the symbol.  Possibly move the hands farther apart so it looks like it's holding the legs. Also, since the drawing probably isn't that clear, this is just the forearms and hands.


    Also, if it does't make the emblem too busy, adding the name Children of Chaos to it, Children at the top middle of the emblem, "of" right below the hands in the middle and Chaos at the bottom middle.  Also if possible, give the letters a lava-like orange, red and yellow dapple and slight glow (just so it has some color, not too bright).

     

     

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, I have no real artistic skill and my skill with image editing software is beyond pathetic (there's also the fact that the only one I have currently is MSPaint so...yeah.) If you have any idea on how to make this better, feel free to say so.

I've recently started using the Lanka and I've noticed a bug where I can charge and fire a shot (complete with sound), it uses ammo but a projectile does not fire.  It's not that the projectile is invisible either because even when I've got no chance of missing the enemy it does not get damaged.  

     

    This can usually happen a few times during a mission and tends to fix itself soonish (15 seconds to a minute) after it occurs (It's still annoying though).  

     

    Some things that I though were causing it:

     

    A Nyx Absorb taking my shots but it will happen even without a Nyx.

     

    Another was some possibly weird interaction with my Frost Primes Snow Globe blocking my shots even when I'm inside but I've left the globe and the problem still occurs. Also, because Lanka has travel time I can usually see the shot fire but while this is going on there simply is no projectile.

  5. It seems to be an issue with Steam, and has come up before.

     

    For me, it comes out as English. At the top right, you should be able to change the language next to the login.

     

    So it's a known issue then.  That's just weird, if I go straight to the Steam website from an empty tab it's in English but that gave me Turkish for some reason (after I changed the language bit it's in English now so whatever).

  6. Like the title says, I'm trying to buy platinum because I've got a discount but when I click Buy Now I get sent here.

    According to google it's in Turkish.  When click the "is this you button" (stupid on my part without double checking on things) it then reroutes me to an English version of the site where I can log in as normal.  This appears to be the official Steam site but I want to be sure.  

     

    The site address is https://steamcommunity.com/openid/login and it's confirmed to be a Valve backed site but it's still weird. I've bought platinum once before and this didn't happen.

     

    EDIT: Also, if I just click on the Steam logo it sends me to the English site.

  7. I believe you can legally use imagery from dark souls in your clan emblem as that is covered under "Fair Use" in copy write law.

     

    You are using it for personal reasons and not attempting to profit off their intellectual property. 

     

    I suggest you Google the term "Fair Use" and educate yourself on the subject.

     

    I know a bit about fair use but I did as you suggested.  I'm not sure if this would fall under that though.  Depending on where you look personal use might or might not fall under it.  There's also something about depending on how much of something you use, 10% is the number I saw it can fall under fair use. 

     

    I don't plan on profiting from this but I'll need to find someone to make it given my lack of skill (or image editing software beyond MSPaint), there might technically be some profit made at some point by someone.  That could be dealt with by me "making a donation of plat or mods" if I can find someone here or on the Warframe reddit.  There's also something about how, if something is placed somewhere for public viewing it could be considered published and not be counted as fair use.  

     

     

     

    This all may be too much for DE to want to deal with/take the chance with.  I really wish they wouldn't take the 150 plat if it gets rejected, at least then I could find out from them directly whether it would work.

  8. Using images, characters or icons from other games not owned by DE does violate copyright laws. As neat as it would be, I don't believe DE would approve/allow it.

     

    Damn. Would the Humanity Lotus look also count in that since I'm going for just the general ascetic; black inside, smokey white outside? If at least that'll work I might be able to think of something. If not this'll take a lot more brainstorming.

I was able to get the 50% off Honor of the Lotus for the login reward today so I was considering dropping $10 on 370 plat so I could finally get an emblem for my clan but I had a question about copyright before I decide anything. My clan, Children of Chaos is a Dark Souls inspired clan dedicated to The Fair Lady.  I was wanting to incorporate at least her silhouette into the emblem. I had two main idea's for it and was wondering if either of them would be under copyright (mainly because I'm not sure how copyright covers silhouettes and semblances of a person). 

     

    1. A side view, on the left side, starting from the bottom left, the forearms of a Warframe (Ember Prime) held out, palms up, presenting a Lotus symbol, black interior, smoky white exterior/outline (like Dark Souls Humanity) to a pale woman on the right. Just an upper torso, face mostly obscured by hair, fists gripped together in a prayer-esque fashion. Some bulbous growths with a couple spider-like legs barely coming into view (just the joints of 2 or 3 legs, up into the image and back down and out) in the bottom right corner.  The name Children of Chaos going from top to bottom (Children top middle, of under the backside of the palm in the middle, Chaos bottom middle) in a red/orange/yellow font with a lava like dapple and a black outline for eligibility.

     

    This one is also rather busy so I don't know how well it would work for an emblem. Does that actually sound that busy compared to other emblems? I haven't looked at that many for comparison.

     

     

    2.  A straight up front view of The Fair Lady (arms again, brought together in a prayer like way, fists c, only in silhouette though.  Mostly pale, cream white with a hint of red for her with a grey, rocky background; some redish-orange glows from the left and right.  Again, Humanity-esque Lotus symbol floating in front of her, slightly above the center of the image but below the arm and face. Name in generally the same place, this time with the of being below the Lotus symbol with the same font.

    Again, I'm not imagining detail here, just colored in outlines basically.  I'm more worried out The Fair Lady being under copyright but would the Humanity effect also be copyright or would that be fine? I just want the general effect/look, not going for the same shape.

     

     

    Also, of these two idea, which do you think sounds better? (I cannot offer visual examples, I have the artistic capabilities of a rock; a really artistically challenged rock)

    Main question has been answered but I have one last one before I mark this as answered.

     

     

    As the main answer indicates, images, characters and icons from other games would fall under copyright so having The Fair Lady in the emblem is out.

     

    But, would the general ascetic of Humanity; black interior, smokey white exterior, on a Lotus Symbol be allowed or would that also fall under copyright?

  10. indeed in late game it last 4 sec of invulnerability and other 4 second (if they deal the same damage as they did during the 4 previous second) and not so long for the base HP... unless you have armor and power strength

     

    Alright thanks for clearing that up.  I figure double the base invuln is a good estimation because players will probably be killing enemies/drawing fire themselves.

  11. Depends on what you call late game I use snow globe for anything and everything.

     

    I'm honestly not sure what I would consider late game, 40 plus T4 Defense/Survival I guess I don't really focus on late game. I mean, if it actually does gain health with damage wouldn't it scale infinitely (At least always having ~8 seconds of protection minimum)?  Honestly the second thing was me just being curious about why people would only mention the 4 second invuln period when talking about snow globe if it did gain health, I was mostly wondering about the health thing.

     

    Anyway, can I assume from that sentence that it does actually gain health?

I was going through the wiki and noticed in Snow Globes specs that during it's 4 second invulnerability period it's supposed to gain health equal to the damage dealt.  Thing is, when I see people talk about snow globe it always ends up sounding like this doesn't happen because it is only useful for the 4 second invulnerability, especially during late game.  

     

    So, as a clarification, does it actually gain health during that period or is the wiki simply wrong?

     

     

    As a secondary question, if it does gain health, why wouldn't it be useful beyond the invulnerability for late game? If it gains x amount of health during that period wouldn't it take at least another 4 seconds for it to lose x amount of health?

  13. 1A. I disagree with all the quick time hate. They can be correctly implemented (Asura's Wrath's hitting it changes things slightly at best but things keep going) and incorrectly implemented (Bayonetta's instant death with 1/4 of a second response time). As a whole they are not bad.  The idea of a single press to counter a grapple or shield slam is the perfect solution and with people suggesting hitting jump with correct timing I can't see how they think quick time events are bad since that is, for all intents and purposes, a quick time event just without the on screen prompt.

     

    The grapple and shield slam break the flow of the game and take control away from the player (Something you NEVER do in game design). Either add the counter grab, recover move or allow the player to attack while being pulled and that is solved.

     

    1B. I always see the response that we currently have everything needed to avoid knockdown and such and to that I say we don't.  Yes, we have mods for that, but if we want to be effective we usually need that mod space for something else.  Yes, we can roll/shoot them before they use the power, but what if they sneak up behind you? I can't tell you how many times I've had a Scorpion hit me with a grapple from off screen without any chance of dodging because I didn't even know they were there.

     

     

    2. Difficulty Scaling: I definitely agree with your idea to increase enemy AI and skill instead of turning them into bullet sponges and walking death beams.  Just beefing up enemy health and damage is one of the laziest forms of artificial difficulty, similar to rubber band AI in racing games.  One of the better forms of difficulty scaling I've run into was the game The Dishwasher: Undead Samurai for Xbox Live Arcade.  On the hardest difficulty that game had enemies that would normally have shown up in later/end game levels show up in the starting area. It gave the enemies incredibly boosted aggression and attack speed (not damage mind you) and even spawned bosses during some normal encounters.  Now, they did buff the enemy health but this was semi-reasonable because you could only play the hardest difficulty after beating the game once and you had the same stats and upgrades you had at end game so they needed to counter that.

     

    3. Ability Synergy: Not much to say here, I completely agree.

  14. Just as an fyi, the first run of this I did the caches dropped a T1 key (survival I think) a uncommon core (possibly more than one, I wasn't paying that much attention) and 50 oxium (I was speechless for a minute at that one).  I don't know what else drops but I thought I'd share what I ran into.

     

    Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find more caches.

    Quite simply, no he doesn't.  He plays like a necromancer, just a crappy one currently.

     

    He is currently nothing but a frame for farming.  I'm re-leveling Nekros right now and practically all of his abilities are useless sans desecrate.

     

    Soul Punch is practically pointless and for anything above level 14 it's just a single target stun (yep, so necromancery right there).  

     

    Terrify is alright theme wise but mechanically it's worthless because it makes it harder to kill things; pretty strange for someone who's supposed to control the dead right? How's he supposed to control things if he can't kill them.

     

    I really love Desecrate, I love making it rain mods and resources but even I realize that it isn't as necromancery themed as it could be.  Getting mods and resources is more like grave robbing for trinkets instead of for bodies.  At least energy and health orbs could be spun as draining the remaining life force.  

     

    Shadows is his most Necromancer-like ability and even it really needs work. What kind of necromancer can't command his troops? What kind of necromancer summons troops of such incompetence (seriously, other than infested they're all mostly useless as shadows because they can't shoot worth a damn and hide instead of shooting)?

     

     

    And, most basic of all, there is not a phylactery-like ability on him which is the main aspect of a Lich.

     

     

     

    Give Terrify some kind of Viral proc while they're in the area and a weakening aura, make it a toggle and you've got a nice undead withering aura.  To keep the fleeing aspect just change the animation so the enemies slowly back away in fear instead of sprinting.

     

    Either make Soul Punch proc something and buff it's AOE (either on contact or make the target explode on death) or buff the damage and buff the AOE (Seriously, that thing is garbage right now).  Also, remove the precision needed to hit something with the ability.  It' easier to kill things room away with a bow than it is to hit something with Soul Punch.

     

    Fix the Shadows AI and buff them a bit so they can take much more punishment than their living form (zombies can take much more punishment after all). Make it so enemies killed by shadows are added to the next Shadows of the Dead queue so Nekros is more of an undead commander who doesn't even have to kill enemies himself because he has undead troops to do that for him.  Maybe prioritize heavy units above normal units for summoning no matter the order they're killed in (also buff the number of the souls he can have at the ready) And give us a way to command them.  Make it so pressing the power button while the power is in use while targeting something makes the shadows target that or something like that.

     

    Again, I would love for Desecrate to stay the same but if we're making Nekros fit his theme like he should it needs to change.  Making corpses explode would be a good addition or maybe give them a damage/viral proc aura for a few seconds after desecrating. 

     

     

    EDIT: As for thoughts on OP's changes.

     

     

    Soul Punch: Like I said above, it needs a proc and AOE or a damage boost so I definitely agree with that.  Spawning a Shadow definitely sounds like a very good idea, I just don't know how balanced it would be. It would need a limit on the number than could be summoned but it would need to be more than 1 otherwise it would probably be useless.

     

    Terrify: Terrify synergizing with Desecrate is interesting and it would definitely help with the running issues Terrify has, but the range of corpse detection would have to be high. Also, with how fast some bodies disappear it might just be better to Desecrate and explode them and not worry about Terrify.

     

    Desecrate: Stuff I posted above basically covers this.

     

     

    Shadows: Again, we seem to agree on everything.  I really like the idea of some kind of visual indicator for the number of available souls. It would be a nice little thing to give the frame something...more.

  16. Soul Punch is in dire need of an actual, controllable AOE aspect. The current one, more than just being completely pathetic damage wise, is very hard to use effectively because you need to target enemies either from above so the projectile hits the ground or make sure they're in front of a wall so that idea is perfect.  I think it also needs a way to increase damage somehow, be it a proc of some kind or a flat damage increase.  If a frame has an offensive power it should actually be useful as, I don't know, an offense?

     

    EDIT: An alternative would be to remove Soul Punch entirely, necromancers are more well known for dealing in undead bodies, not souls, and replace it with something like a Corpse Bomb.  Have Nekros damage and tag an enemy with the cast, probably with a viral proc as well. After the enemy dies have them explode, damaging and procing Viral on nearby enemies. Could have the possibility of having multiple enemies tagged (increasing with mod rank and...duration maybe). Could also have the added benefit of creating multiple giblets to desecrate.

     

    Terrify, again perfect suggestion, the speed at which the enemies run is the sole reason I don't use it.  And easy solution would be to add the slow and just change the animation to the enemies slowly backing away in fear. Same aspect, much better execution. 

     

    Desecrate, agreeing completely here, about as good as it gets.  Maybe a slight default range increase so I don't have to worry about teammates running off as much without range mods. I would love to see it explode desecrated corpses but that may be too much utility for a power than can be spammed near endlessly. Although, that could be balanced by the need for corpses and a slightly small AOE.

     

    Shadows desperately needs a rework of their AI so it's not completely abysmal for anything but Infested and even then it's questionable.  I personally think that enemies killed by a shadow should automatically be added to the next Shadows of the Dead queue. It gives a much better feeling of Nekros being a general/commander of the undead, someone who doesn't have to kill anyone because they've got minions for that. Buffing the Shadows would also be nice, they do scale currently but they need to be stronger.

  17. Of the ones listed I've only used Frost, Mag, Nekros and Ember but I'm going to stick with Nekros and Ember for now.

     

    Ember:

     

    I like  the suggestions for her 3.  Synergy with all her other powers would be very interesting.  Another possible thing to add would be having the inside of the circle also damage enemies.  As it is, even if they added the power synergies, Fireblast does't really do much by itself.  If it was changed to a plain old self-buff those would be perfect, but as a giant circle of fire, I feel like it alone should do something more.

     

    As for World on Fire, making it a toggle would definitely make the ability much more usable and I feel like it would mix with the animations well (instead of the current, smash ground once, suddenly random pillars of fire for 20 seconds). Maybe change the animation to an aura of flames that pour into the ground from Ember for as long as it is active.

     

     

    Nekros:

     

    For Soul Punch, if the secondary damages were affected by power strength they would have to have a major increase in base power for it to do anything (if I remember correctly one does about 50 damage and the other 100).  I like the forced Viral or Slash proc though. I personally would love for the AOE of the power to be easier to control, possibly just centered on the target instead of some random wall or floor behind them.  Maybe rename the power Soul Burst or Soul Shred and make their souls rip out from their body. That might make it too similar to Fireball though.

     

    I completely agree with the changes of terrify, especially the slow. The sole reason I don't use that power is because it make it harder to kill enemies because they run around like idiots during it's use.

     

    Again, completely agree with the desecrate changes. although, I would personally love to see it turn desecrated corpses into a bomb as well but that may be asking too much.

     

    As for Shadows, you really covered the biggest problem I have with the ability, the abysmal shadow AI.  Fixing that would make things much better already but I like the idea of buffing the enemies more and really like the idea of the Eximi keeping their auras.  Another idea would be to make it so enemies killed by the Shadows give count towards the Shadows of the Dead queue.  It would give Nekros more of a general of the undead feel, someone who doesn't have to kill enemies himself because he has dead things to do that for him.

  18. personally i would wait until they release the next prime warframe.

    Then right after its release go nuts. Farm it 24/7 and you can sell each piece for over 100+ platinum easily.

    Farming for mods and trying to sell them in the trade channel is a waste of time. 99.99% of all players are selling stuff, and if finally someone is buying someone there is always another sell faster or cheaper.

     

    I'm not currently looking for that much plat I guess, I've just got a couple frames (Banshee and Valkyr) just sitting in the crafting area, taunting me. I at least want to get them out of the way, and I wouldn't mind having more weapon slots so I can try more of them. The Prime thing is definitely something I'll do when it comes around, I've never actually been around directly after the release of a prime frame before, usually jump back in a bit after major updates but I've been playing more consistently lately. I'm assuming the next prime won't be out until update 15 so that could be awhile.

     

     

    Not sure there's a quick way to make plat...

    But I do know what stuff still costs alot.

    There's Bite kubrow mod, Bo Prime Handle, Loki Prime parts.

     

    You can also farm Genesis Cross, it's new, people want it, and it's fairly easy to acquire, but you have a lot of competitors selling at 15-10p. It's the selling part that would take time. XD

     

    That's probably bad wording on my part, I bascially mean the most time efficient way to make plat.  Getting corrupted mods is easy and quick, but selling them is a roll of the dice (and I'm generally not that lucky). Basically, what can I get that will most likely get sold quickly once I have it?

     

    Maybe I'll get back to hunting that bite mod, I need one for my Kubrows anyway.  

     

    Hmm, medium level interceptions for T4 exterminate are rather simple so getting keys for the Bo Prime part could be easy, might try that.  

     

     

    A job?

    Just kidding, just run as many void as you can and sell prime stuff!

     

     

    Honestly, I really wish I could :).  Having a degree in game design and animation doesn't mean a damn thing when you have no job experience and you're trying to get hired for even something as simple as a cashier (it can actually lower your chances since they don't want someone who might just up and leave because they were offered a real job) . I've been hunting for any kind of job since I graduated in June and no one even responds to the applications I put in, it sucks.  I've been working on building a computer to put the stuff I learned for the degree to good used but I'm still missing the monitor.  

     

     

    Don't forget orthos prime blades since the orthos prime is really strong that being said; Selling maxed mods like Heavy Caliber, Vitality, Equilibrium can get good bang for your plats, Selling Prime Sets really helps you out but, its really risky when you have a set that has more than 3 parts to it.

     

    I actually thought about leveling one of my Redirection's but even with every duplicate and fusion core (and ~400,000 credits) I can only get it to level 9.5-6.  I need a few hundred more (which means a lot of T4 survival for sets of R5 cores) before that'll happen.

As the title says, I need plat.  I've basically run out of slots for Warframes and Weapons and I need more (I would buy some but only on the extremely off chance I got the 75% off deal).  What are the things that I should hunt for that will most likely get me the most plat the quickest, what most likely has the best time to plat ratio; take into account the time it would take to sell stuff through the chat. I've tried selling a few of the nightmare mods I've got and a couple of the rarer Corrupted mods (Overextended is one I've tried for sure) and I didn't get any bites (I generally tried in half hour increments).  I'm not opposed to running T4's (I can usually survive to ~30 in defense/survival no problem before my damage starts dropping off) or just farming for a long time.  I thought about Kubrow breeding but that takes days to do (and I've only got 1 stasis slot left).

  20. That depends, I've seen poor people rummage through garbage. The garbage was something before it was deemed garbage. Just as your kubrow was something before it was deemed unwanted. No getting rid of something you wanted but no longer want is no different in the absense of an interested buyer. Let's say you have a ferret, and you're totally against killing it. But you don't want it anymore. If you can't find someone who wants it or anyone who is willing to take it for free you are left with no other options than to either keep it or pay someone to take it. No, you can't just release it into the wild as that will kill it. Same thing applies to Kubrows. The car comparison only works if the person you're giving it to doesn't actively want it (they're either neutral or negative) and the car isn't fully paid off so they have to take over your payments.

     

     

    So your entire argument here relies on the fact that The Lotus doesn't want the Kubrows we send her if I'm understanding this correctly? Thing is, we don't know she doesn't want them.  If you can assume she doesn't want them I can assume she does.

     

    Also, the car comparison works fine because there are still upkeep costs for a car even if it's all payed off (again, ignoring the "doesn't actively want it" part because that's nothing more than an assumption on your end). Mechanical maintenance, gas payments, insurance. They have upkeep costs just like Kubrows and you don't pay someone to take the car from you or if you do it's exceptionally rarely and definitely not the norm.
