  1. Mock-up UI... It's little bit too full of stuff. Just a little bit. Too many numbers, bars, things. I imagine that most of them are hidden when I dont need to see them, which would be nice. The STYLE is awesome, I really like it myself.

But what I've asked since the closed beta is option for centralized hud. Health, shield, ammo and energy somewhere around the middle with shield and ammo more focused so that I dont need to remove my eyes from the gameplay itself, which I've found to be actually pretty annoying. Too many deaths because I simply didn't know how fast my shields were depleting because I was busy shooting and slicing things up! This new mock-up UI gives a little bit of that, but not enough.

Also color-wise, maybe bit too much white? When I started to think "okay where are shields?", I understood that they are probably next to red health text as white text, but it didn't hit me like "Okay there the shields are!" instantly, it was more of "I guess they are there". So... maybe some color to give easy representation for certain things like shields!

Oh and I dont really need to know that in what order my powers are, there's only 4 of them. Especially when considering that most frames only use one or two of their skills only. So option to hide that bar, if implemented, would be great. Otherwise it just takes unnecessary room, at least for me.

Anyway, I'm really happy that UI is being worked on :)

  2. Have to admit that I dont enjoy alt-tabbing out of game just to look up what damage type was it again that dealt more damage to shields etc etc. But I do it, no problem, I'm used to it, being such an HARDCORE gamer and all.

I've gotten two of my friends to play this game in the past 2 weeks, and neither of them hadn't any clue whatsoever about lot of things that simply are not explained in the game. I tried explaining things, and then pointed them to wiki if they wanted more info, but they said it quite bluntly: "If I have to go look how to play basics of game from some wiki, it's crap game."

    Yeaah.

  3. yes, it was kind of a rude comment, but OP opened the gates for free criticism. don't hate Flat, he asked for it. i dont curr much either, most of the time warframe is either on mute or, i have music playing (which basically means mute.)

Hmm, you got a point there. It's just that "I dont give a S#&$" sounds offensive just to be offensive, not because it's criticism. And not giving a S#&$ isn't exactly... constructive. But you're right.

  4. I dont mind that they're invasion only now. Sure they could have their own system that is just simply completely overrun, I'm more into that. But still, invasion is fun! I just wish that some of them wouldn't have friendly npc's. Best part about infestation is that you're alone in completely overrun area.

But still, invasion is quite fun and I dig it, though it's bit weird that we kill corpus and grineer like no tomorrow and still we can ally with them, even if for an moment.

  5. FLESH: -75% from magnetic.. THIS is what everyone is talking about.

Corpus Tech: Choose Magnetic and kil lhis shields fast, then he kilsl you cause you can´t kill his health. Choose Viral/Heat/Corrosive: Jsut die cause you can´t kil lhis shields.

Its a joke to figth vs. highlevel corpus you need a double element combo on each weapon now...

You make it sound like world is ending and doom is near. It's not even close being so hard as you make it sound.

First off, corpus tech units are not your primary concern. If they are, then simply use blast (+25% against shield, normal damage against flesh, +75% robo health). Second thing is that you have secondary that you can modify for the job if it's really necessary. For example magnetic on secondary is probably the best option considering Corpus Techs have more health than shields.

If you still die, then you're probably fighting against too high level mobs. Upgrade your mods etc and go back later.

  6. New damage system doesn't make any sense at all to me. Suddenly most melee weapons are semi-useless because slash damage doesn't do anything extra? Infested suddenly dont care about fire? Instead cutting infested to pieces it's more effective to hit them with an hammer? And they take more damage from poison? Really? _Infested_. I dunno about others but the mere word brings "poison" and "toxin" to my mind.

I quess I just liked the first D2.0 system so much. But if this is what DE feels like being balanced, then it's ok with me. Even if I cant understand the logic behind it.

  7. Very good read. I COMPLETELY agree with the essential mod problem that we currently have and that it takes away from the gameplay. It just shouldn't be there. Or well, I shouldn't say "shouldn't" because DE makes the game, and they of course want to make game they themselves want to make. Hopefully they'll agree with the mod problem though (I'm not sure if it should be called a problem).

I dont know if this was already discussed or if I missed it in the opening post, my eyes crossed out a bit because I'm tired, but one thing about f2p game and playing for the sake of gameplay (in this case going to missions and killing enemies in various ways) is that playing for the sake of gameplay is unfortunately not that hooking. Farming and grinding for new mods and new levels on the other hand is. It addicts and creates needs for things that make our experience easier, better or more powerful, needs that some of us are ready to pay money to be filled. It doesn't require too much thinking and is very clear goal. "I want that certain mod so I will do more damage" is very very simple way to make one to spend tons of time to the game, and ultimately spend money to the game. Which is one of the goals of the game, to make money for people who work on the game.

Thoughts about that? How would revamped core systems still give the feeling of "I want to play for next 1000 hours because ____"?

I'm not disagreeing with anything, just hopefully adding to the discussion. I'm very tired as well so I could've missed some points.

  8. I was going to make akbolto, but after leveling bolto to 30 I dont recommend it. That weapon's damage is very good against Gringeer, BUT it's slow projectiles make it horrible to shoot with. How often Gringeer soldiers just stand there taking hits? Not very often. They constantly move all around the place, often somewhat unpredictably so leading the target isn't that effective. Naturally with experience and practice this is smaller problem, but I have to admit, it's not worth the time for myself personally.

  9. Same here, I really want to buy plat but unfortunately for me it's completely out of question without at least -50% discount :(

I heard that you can only get login discount reward from 1 or 3 day login reward, so you need to skip one day of playing to have a chance of getting the discount. Not sure if true.

  10. I've unfortunately came to accept speedrunning in PuGs because what can I do about it? I either get left behind and miss tons of exp and die alone, or run with others. It's not always like that thought.

But my only real problem is that goddamn my sprint finger has started to hurt a lot lately and at this rate I soon cant play this game anymore :(

Edit: I completely understand rushing for players that simply do not gain anything from killing/exploring the map. When you're at level when you can kill lvl 40+ mobs, things like materials and random mods dont matter anymore at that point. If one wants some certain material or mod, they farm specifically for it.

This is of course weird considering that if they want to rush, why do they not go solo? Most probably because like already mentioned, it's norm.
