Let's hope DE fulfills their promise. War Within was planned to arrive at the end of August, but then was modded with [Critical DElay] for more crit damage. As of now, I find myself lacking direction and have thus slumped into my 'appear, see what I get, disappear' phase until it begins.

...I wonder if there's a denial sign regarding coloured text?

    Patience is a virtue.

truth be told the whole update was originally slated for the end of June.

  2. Not sure if this is in the right section but wasn't sure where to post it.

This is directed to DE Steve. I was looking for some earlier DEV streams  and came across the Diary's and in one of them DE Steve you said words to the affect that you saw or wanted this game to allow the players to write their own story or at the very least to have a feel of writing their own stories. Is this still the Dream as it were. If so how are we the Player to write our own stories and was this meant to mean that we could in a since write our own story in game (our choices made changes to the over all story line or something like it?) ,and if not as the game has evolved how has this concept changed.

While you have a point, I think a lot of the difficulty could be cleared up quickly with proper in-game tutorials and guides.

At the same time, I feel like using multiple currencies at once isn't the best approach. Maybe if Baro's stock were to cost only Ducats, and Fusion cost only Endo, it would be better. But on the flip side, these are major credit sinks, and in a small way, they serve as a sort of tempering factor: It's much harder to go balls-to-the-wall overboard and do something such as buying dozens of duplicate primed mods to sell because of these sinks.

I agree some what but with the relic system its harder to get prime gear for syndicates and ducat convertion.

Actually, the grind already exists. It's just that they're changing Cores into pure numbers. The kicker here though, is that the costs are amplified somehow.

i fully understand the grind and some of its purpose but I'm just tired of the Dual currencies in this game. Between Syndicate and Void trader and now fusion core plus Endo and credits. Its like the want everything to be near impossible. and they keep saying that they want to simplify everything for New players, to me imo  its making it harder.

The following Dev Workshop will go into the simplification of the Fusion System. Read on to learn more about the coming changes and learn about 'ENDO'! As always, all information here is subject to rapid change. Stay updated by checking this thread!

Fusion in Warframe is one of the main systems that encourages investment in your Mod collection and Upgrading your gear. With calculated clicking and collecting, you can take your unranked Mods to top tier performers.

Right now our Fusion system has some confusing elements we’d like to correct.

    1) Hidden complexity. There are a lot of under the hood ways to optimize fusion that aren't explained. Aside from the single usage of Fusion Cores, your Duplicate Mod collection can be used to fuse with bonuses for things like matching type, polarities, avoidance of exceeding desired rank, etc.
    2) Progress Bar guessing game. There are no clear goals for next Fusion levels, all you're presented with is a bar and it's quite hard to predict how many missions and fuseable items are needed to advance ranks. This leads to a disconnect between cost benefit analysis as no cost presents itself.

It boils down to an overly complex system that has unclear goalposts, and this is something we want to fix.

The coming Fusion simplification will be released in 2 phases:

    1) The first phase (coming in August)  maintains the core loop we all know (find Fusion energy and use to rank up Mods), but it's much simpler at the Fusion level.
    2) The second (coming later) will be written about in detail once we have assets to share, but essentially it is a more lore-amplifying and collection building version of Fusion.

Diving deep into the quickly approaching first phase introduces us to Endo!

    Endo.jpg

What is Endo? Endo is Fusion energy incarnate. It is the raw resource that powers the process of Upgrading Mods. In essence, Endo serves as the simplifier in all things Fusion. All duplicate Mods can now be simply converted into Endo. Endo will now drop from enemies and missions where Fusion Cores used to.

Fusing with Endo makes the Mod Rank increases clear, as the system now only increases in whole Ranks. Partial upgrading with unclear requirements towards your next rank will no longer exist, and neither will wasted Fusion energy. The UI will tell you exactly how much Endo is needed for the next Rank, which gives you a clear goal to work toward.

Any partial upgrades will be refunded with equivalent Endo - so if you're like me and just haven't fully maxed that Primed Mod yet, your partial fusion won't be wasted. This also means no Fusion energy will be wasted when your Mod is fully maxed. No more eyeballing what Mods or Cores you use to prevent yourself from accidentally using extra.

You can expect this first phase to come in August on PC, and your inventory of Cores will be converted on login! We'll have more information for you closer to launch so you can see the change in action and know what to expect when it hits your inventories.

    August 17, 8:35 p.m Update:

    Hey all!

Just dropping in some visual examples here for everyone and a bit more information on the roll-out of this change.

First, if you recall back in our original Market Rework thread, we discussed offering better Fusion Core packs in the Market (but never did). Since Fusion Cores are going away, we're going to be adding new Endo packs to the Market that are higher Fusion value than the current packs. The current packs yield random results of Fusion Cores, but the upcoming packs will be static guaranteed Endo amounts (the same way our Resource purchases work).

And now, a visual example of new Endo Fusion in gfycat form! I captured this earlier on a older dev build, I hope you enjoy the [PH] Placeholder copy as much as I did.

    https://gfycat.com/MaleLikableHyena

It's worth noting here that I am able to fuse up whole ranks by clicking the - / + icons. If I have the resources to do so (Endo and Credits), I can increase my Mod Ranks.

In regards to Credits specifically, they still play a role in Fusion. Currently Credit costs vary depending on the items used to fuse, as you can see here in this example:
    r6WHcPN.jpg

All of these examples were from fusing the same 3 Rank Rare Augment. The Dev build provides a consistent Credit cost moving forward which is somewhere in the middle of all the current Credit ranges per Mod Rarity/Rank.

    Coming soon, indeed!

so if i see this correctly Your adding yet another dual currency feature into game. (Thats just great, another way to eleaveate grinding.)

  6. Will the Silver Grove be released this week or at least with in the month of Aug?

Will the customization of the Operators new suits that we saw in the last Dev stream only be one suit or all three?

Are there any more Delays that we can expect with the rest of Update 19 as you are at or very near your 30th hotfix. If you consider that Lunaro was U 19. 0

Players should be required to do the junctions If they don't want to , To me mandatory completion of these junctions is nothing more than a hindrance.

(I think the completion of the junctions should be completely optional for those players that want to try them)  This is my Idea for the junctions come the next update.

At least Veterans should have all the requirements automatically completed, especially if they've complete the whole system or at the very least completed the Second Dream.

I don't know about you guys, but I think DE needs to take a lesson from this: don't make too much content for one update. Update 19 is EXTREMELY ambitious. What, with a whole starchart rework, Prime acquisition rework, a new companion type, a new tileset, a new acquired-via-quest Warframe, another lore-heavy cinematic quest and a whole bunch of other things we don't even know about. Oh, and also that sport I tried once and returned to my hiatus. I think it was called Lunarus...?

Update 17, as an example, had only a new Warframe (admittedly a complicated one), a reworked Tyl Regor in a tileset that was made back in 16.5, an existing gamemode transferred to a new environment (sharkwing), an additional mod slot with new mods and changes to existing mods to fit in it (Exilus), Shotgun buffs, Frost changes, basic stat changes but most notably Parkour 2.0, which I believe was the most significant part of the update. There was the Natah quest, but that wasn't even released with the first update as it wasn't ready. How long a gap was it between Update 17 and Update 16? Four months.

Update 16 was even smaller, with only a Warframe (also obtained via quest), the Sanctuary, the first raid, Cephalon capture and tons of quality changes... and that was it. But we were still happy with it, weren't we? Try not to go too big with your updates, or these 8-month delays will happen. It's taken way too long considering the original July ETA and I'm not even sure if I'm all that exited for The War Within anymore. I know there's things I don't know about how making a game works but bringing out hopes up for July and then pulling an "oh wait no it's August" only to AGAIN delay it is gut-wrenching.

and if i'm not wrong the original eta was late june.

  9. Are you serious. Really. Yet another delay and split. Please DE I love this game, but I would rather you say "Will get to when we feel like getting to it. that make empty promises. about ETA's. Not to mention I'm disappointed that the Syndicate melee weapons are yet again another remodel of weapons we already have when so many of the community have asked that they be original content.

I could be wrong but big updates typically don't happen on the same week of prime releases. And since there's often a 1 week gap between The end of a Prime Access and the start of another... Chances are that next week: Vauban Ends, The next: Nekros begins, than a one week of Nekros Hotfixes, and then maybe, War Within. Since the path link to the three part updates is still dormant ( https://warframe.com/thepath/ ), can almost guarantee there's no War Within within (tehee) the next week, and it's certainly not going to happen during the prime access "migration" from Vauban to Nekros.

It sounds like I'm exagerating, I know, but I'm not.

correct me if i'm wrong but do not Vauban and Lunaro arrive in the same week.

  11. DE first and fore most I love this game. But if Lunaro, and Specters of the Rails is still considered part of Update 19 then We are up to U 19. 22. with all the hotfixes and patches and the like. And with DE's Steve post on Twitter. I believe that the War with in portion is now complete. So if its not to much to ask? If your still spit polishing it this week could it please be possible to have it by Wednesday of next week.

Well DE Steve did mention how their original plan was to release the Update 19 content within a month in consecutive weeks if possible, but since then it has probably had complications, alterations or even more ambition so they have not been able to keep up with any of their goals. For a time DE tried to keep track on some kind of schedule, but now I think they realize it is best to just get it out as soon as possible and not worry so much about setting goals as they may disappoint some consumers again.

I do personally both hope and believe that next week would be Update 19 because in the last developer livestream they briefly mentioned giving some showcase of Update 19, and they also have to release another Prime Access Pack soon, and there aren't even any news of Vauban Prime Access Pack ending so that leads me to believe Update 19 might be next weeks release. Though take it with a grain of salt.

What I would wish to see from tomorrows livestream is some kind of reflection from DE, what worked and what didn't and give some insight about the whole experience so far. I think that for those who are anxious to play the new Update 19, getting some kind of evaluation and address of the experienced issues would help to diffuse some of that anxiety and even frustration that some concerned players have. I am not as impatient, but it would be interesting to hear how DE has grown from this experience overall, and what is the future moving on from this experience.

To your point on Vauban Prime it ends on the 9th. of this month.

  13. Archwing. I would have the view pulled back just a bit, enough to at least see all of my charater. and have to option to use the new or the old way.

Void traces. I think it would be better if after we acquire the ones needed for the fissure that we were actually able to pick up the ones left be hind after the relic is used.

Relic's. At least to me it seems that its harder now to acquire prime gear that it was before. as a relic shows that five or six items could drop but you can only choose from four. and its never seems to be the one your looking for. And reactant seems to increase the chance of it not droping instead of decreasing it.

What are glyphs. I've not seen or heard anything about them.

    ASH REWORK

As an operator, I main Ash for all mission types. People complain about Blade Storm needing "help." However, Ash's other powers could use a serious look also. What do you think of these suggestion?

Shuriken: Ash and his two clones each throw 2 shurikens for a total of 6 per cast. Shurikens ricochet off enemies, have innate bleeding proc, and a chance to disarm (think Shuriken to hand holding gun/weapon).

Smoke Screen: Ash and his two clones each throw a smoke bomb that leaves a small cloud of smoke where each bomb is detonated that lasts the duration of Ash's invisibility. Allies/pets that walk into smoke will be granted remaining invisibility. Enemies that walk into smoke will be blinded or stunned. This works well with smoke shadow and removes the need for a 5 meter radius to affect allies. (Allow recasting of smoke screen? No? Kay.)

Teleport: Ash and his two clones all teleport to 3 different enemies and perform a finisher attack. If at least one of the enemies are killed, Ash will be granted a maximum of 5 sec invisibility to perform another teleport kill. Enemies that survive the attack have critical areas exposed  that will cause critical damage when shot/melee attacked.

Blade Storm: Ash and his two clones throw an endless amount of shurikens at lightning speed (toggle ability like Exalted blade with aiming involved) causing bleeding damage that bypasses armor and shields. All shurikens thrown ricochet off enemies before ultimately embedding in an enemy. A bleed meter fills up as more enemies end up bleeding from shuriken attacks. Once bleed meter is filled, embedded Shuriken explode, causing finisher damage.

I sincerely hope that some of these ideas peak your interest and help or inspire your great team as your dedication to your fans have inspired me to keep on playing this awesome game.

one major flaw in your discription is the clones only appear or have affect in Bladestorm. so Shuriken is 2 not 6. teleport is only one enemy. and smoke screen is only affected on ash not clones as they are not present. and your suggestion of a new Shriken would replace blade storm as an ult. and thus turn him in to a blade throwing Saryn at it appears to work like spores, does. This would be very bad.
