Please see the following post, you'll see that it's a post on a thread very much like this one by a poster with an oddly famili.... Wait it's this very thread! And by,.... oh my! It's the person who quoted you and claimed that I wasn't being truthful!

You'll see that the person wishes DE to increase the challenge, by methods other than creating bullet sponge enemies. That's pretty much the very first thing on the list that you had doubts about.

    *

what i quoted from you was

    Quote

"We want harder to kill enemies; No more bullet sponges! or timed immunity to damage sequences!!

    what you quoted was

    Quote

"challenge need not come in the form of bullet sponges and reskinned nullifiers, that's only a band aid solution and the one DE seems to stick with.

The better answer is to create scenarios with greater player engagement where the solution can't be to bullet jump to the end because things need actual doing, and not .5 sec long mini game doing either.

I've addressed this previously many times."

how can you read this and come to the conclusion that those equate to the very same thing? you got the "no more bullet sponges" right, but that alone obviously wasnt the part that i took issue with.

"create scenarios with greater player engagement where the solution can't be to bullet jump to the end because things need actual doing, and not .5 sec long mini game doing either."

does not equate to "We want harder to kill enemies" that'd be a rediciolous simplification void of any context. More engadgement doesnt even necessarily mean harder to kill depending on what your measurement for "harder" in this case is.

It could be thread level for example. an enemy that poses a greater thread and can actually kill you and who's trait requires players to play around it to force them to spend twice as much time killing it whould be more engadging then spending that extra time in shooting down a butcher with twice as much health instead.

If you haven't seen those contradictory statements repeatedly, then you're completely and utterly blind.  No two ways about it.

can you quote them aswell? Should be easy enough to guide me to them since they seem to be so common.

Of course, what we are seeing is people moaning about the lack of challenge due to power creep, but simultaneously insisting that they worked hard to get so powerful and refusing to actually consider not running min-max meta builds. It's difficult to imagine that they don't realise that they can already take steps to reverse the "problem", so it's probable that they just don't actually want to fix it.

this is an incredibly poor analogy.

If you want to use a millionair (for whatever reason) the proper analogy whould be that he's complaining that there's nothing more expensive to work towards that he doesnt already have (or couldnt already buy), and when you explain that he could just stash away some money in a bank and go working like a peasant to make more money again his reply whould be that he worked hard for the money.

The reason why this doesnt work is because in the real world there's always something to buy regardless of how much money you have and that in Warframe, unlike the real world, there isn't some omnipotent present that you can ask to make more expensive things and that can alter the rules of Life which in warframes case whould be DE since they are the developers. I hope you can see why this analogy is not thought out at all, its a completly different problem.

Other similar contradictory demands I've seen fairly recently:

We want harder to kill enemies; No more bullet sponges! or timed immunity to damage sequences!!

We want new content; OMG! NO MORE CONTENT DROUGHTS.

We want new content to be engaging; WTF! why can't we rush through new content in one day? FIX THIS NOW!!

i doubth that you've seen anything like that and you've just made those up.

  4. i repeatedly see the argument of "hurr durr, we are too strong, it's impossible to make the game harder"

just look at why we are so strong and make missions that remove very specific strengths. Arbitration drones were a good example of what can be done to make it harder for lots of warframe abilities to cheese the game, altho its somewhat mitigated by the fact that they explode and deal rediciolous damage to surrounding enemies if you just shoot them...

Another example is spectres, specificly ancient healer and warframe spectres, and to a smaller extend shield ospreys are one of the reasons why we can go so high and take so much damage in the first place. Disable gearitems in arbitrations and they imidiatly become way harder, and getting higher whould require better defensive setups compared to before. unless you make the whole team invisible ofcourse, which you could counter by enemies having some sort of detection aura that reveals warframes that are too close (5 meter or sth).

DE should know the game better then anyone and be able to come up with tons of easy changes to make missions harder if they actually wanted to. But whenever i watch the Dev streams i cant help but feel like they themselfes dont want a challenge at all, but instead "just want to make some cool stuff" which i cant fault them for and is easily understandable if they dont actually play the game themselfes as many developers dont do. Whenever you make a game you have a very different connection to it compared to players. modders often express this feeling too, i certainly felt this before.

Regardless wether they make the game for themselfes or for the people playing it, voicing your oppinion and asking for what YOU as a player want is important. Infact, that's the whole reason this subforum exists in the first place.

i dont want to turn this into a different discussion but a word of advice: if you want people to spend time to read and care about what you write, show some effort from your side first and spend a minute or two to format your text. Show that you care.

I'm not the best at writing easily readable text i'll admit. i'm barely using capitalisation, using wrong commas because of my native language and im sorry for people who get annoyed reading my sentences for these reasons. but you arent even using any punctuation or paragraphs at all and its a lot harder then necessary to read what you wrote down.

Uhhh... Any reason you have quoted me? I mean you have said pretty much exactly what I said.

Only difference I see is our opinion of what of Meta implies.

so then you do know why i quoted you. just because you got quoted, doesnt mean that my entire post is directed at you.

It's not Meta if [...] in my opinion.

"Meta" has a pretty clear definition for what we're discussing here. it's simply what is best to use at each specific level of play (in the eyes of the community that is above or at that difficulty). "any approach to a game that transcends or operates outside of the prescribed rules of the game"

it's simply what players discovered how you should play if you want to be efficient / have an easyer time.

just because fortuna is new, dont think that it's the be all end all content. it's just another open world area exactly like cetus, altho as many have already experienced, much more difficult.

because of this, some frames will automaticly be better in that content then others. thats simply how warframe works, they are different and specialised in their kits, just like in a solo mission frost is better at defending cryopods then, let's say, titania is. Or how volt is better at farming capture missions then frost is.

that's not saying that you -need- to play the most optimal way that people figured out how to play, but the possibility t just play whats best suited for wahtever you're doing is always there and if you have trouble doing it your way, then that's simply something to consider and not a force in playing the meta.

Forcing the meta whould mean that the game is simply not allowing you to play whatever you want in the first place. An example whould be how in League of legends, you're supposed to pick one of the 5 roles when you match up for the game. those 5 roles are forced by the game instead of people deciding how to setup their team (for public matchmade games).

Any warframe can destroy low levels. There's no use in comparing them.

the majority of warframes relevant content is a tutorial with lowlevel enemies. open world areas dont even have anything but lowlevel enemies, they only go up to 50 which is nothing but pathetic. I'm not saying that im happy about DE making low level missions as rewarding as they are and often even themain focus of the game but thats how they decided to balance it and by the looks of it that's is how it's always going to be in warframe.

therefore there is every use in comparing how efficient/fast frames can clear those missions.

if volt whould lose his R and E, he's still have his niece as a "speed up the team" frame and see a lot of play regardless if that guts his other uses. garuda doesnt even have a niece like that, which isnt even mentioning highlevel content.

but hey, either they give us some mods, change her abilites a bit like they did with harrow or someone may figure out a fringe use for her. Either way, im happy with frames being on the weaker end compared to them being absolutely busted on release.

  9. i honestly dont think shes really good at anything. maybe for trashing tutorial missions in lower planets?... but even then you can probably use a better frame for each missiontype.

she doesnt fill any nieches in a team setup for any type of content, nor is she the best for any nieche in soloplay.

she's just kinda alright for solo midlevel play and looks good if you like that edgy stuff, that's about it.

She's lacking that oompf ability that'd make her a go to for a specific goal that one might have.

I do hope tho that DE can come up with some cool augments to fix that

This seems to come up quite a bit, and for some reason continues to get ignored. Would be nice if they were to do something about this issue.

ithis comes up atleast a few times per month lol, especially during big patch cycles.

    main reason is probably implementation.

there was another topic very recently suggesting a (hidden) host suitability score that measures your ability to host by taking into account different factors of your hosting ability (processing strength, up/download speed, average ping etc) and then assigns host to whoever has the highest score. This way, you're guaranteed to have the person most suitable for hosting to always be the host. and have an overall improved matchmaking experience without not being able to play at all if tons of people whould flat out deny to play if they have to be host.

  11. Apperently, several new corpus enemy types in the outdoor fortuna area can shoot right trough frosts snowglobe ability [3], i identified the corups snipers as one of them, but there are atleast 2 more that can (sometimes?). Barely playable right now :(

i don't go into meta group(because i strongly beleive a player should play the frame they like and not what some elites thinks they should play.), but that doesn't stop me getting elites douches in random screaming about my frame choices in random ques

people also like playing good frames tho that fit the job. If someone brings a frame that cant bring absolutely anything to the table that i may not want to play with him.

i'm just as right in holding that oppinion as someone who prefers bringing his favorite frame that has barely any use into any situation of the game.

but if your oppinion clashes with someone elses, expect them not to want to play with you either.

    Quote

nah more pointing out the flaw in enforcing meta on others.

there's no flaw, and noone is enforcing the meta on you. To phrase it a bit differently: you want to force your suboptimal choice of frame on them. That doesnt sound nice eithe, does it? You arent entitled to play with people that dont want you in the group. no reason to make some salty forum posts.

I never had as much fun in a mission as i had in the Arbitration Interception that happened to be on the Grineer Galleon tileset, the one with the tower really close to the spawn points. That mission was hectic and fun and engaging for the right reasons - we had to chase out drones and emeies from the towers, and there were constantly one or more towers under attack, and the doubled enemy decryption speed made it all the more hectic. This game could really use some more missions like that. Really well done.

personally, arbitrations made me apreciate excavations again. running frosts and slowly claiming and losing ground while putting up defensive "structures", knowing that if you step out for even a moment can result in death is extreamly fun.

i also had way more player interaction in arbitrations compared to any gamemode in the game.

ontop of things, it's really nice that if someone wants to leave, they can just die after 10 minutes. no more of this hostage situation bs that DE hasnt fixed yet.

and yeah, i agree. eventually DE will add more things for endgame for us to enjoy and for now im really happy with what we got, i just wish i could play them a bit more which is the primary reason why i made this topic.

Yes, there should be some sort of challenge that even is a challenge if you use the stuff you collect in Warframe (Frames, Weapons, Mods), because otherwise their is no incentive to even collect that stuff if you dont need it for anything. Why should i bother farming for endo to max out some Primed Mods if it doesnt even matter if i have them equipped or even better, i am not allowed to use them if i want some sort of engaging combat?

well said, i didnt really know how to express that in english.

I also question your motivation for seeking more endgame content. You built up a massive arsenal of powerful frames and amazing weapons just so you could fight enemies that make said frames and weapons...not as amazing and powerful in comparison? I just don't get it.

I build up my arsenal in order to fight stronger enemies that i otherwise couldnt. thats my motivation, to beat challenges/enemies that get stronger and stronger, by getting stronger and better on my own. currently, you dont need to be very strong to beat everything in the game unless you wanna put 2h+ in an endless normal mission (in which case you'd end up missing out on kuva flood)

it's ok if you dont get it. i dont get people who want to afk farm and just 1shot everything either. i literally cant comprehend how anyone whould want to play a snoozefest of no challenge and no engadgement at all, but that's ok! everyone can play however they want, thats what is great about games, i -just like everybody else- just wish there whould be more for me in this game which is why im posting in the feedback subforum =)

Some people need rewards, i dont. i play the game for the gameplay, that is my reward. if i whould want "reward" for throwing away time i'd pick up a second job in rl :P

I would expect that as players increase in Mastery Rank, they do harder missions on average as compared to those of lower mastery ranks. Loki's entire kit is utility based, and thus scales infinitely while damage dealing frames such as Ember will inevitably have a damage fall-off. While Loki is extremely squishy, his kit makes him useful at all levels, and none of his abilities become useless as enemy level increases. Thus, more usage?

i dont think you can simplify it like that.

let's look at a random damage dealing frame. saryn. oh whould you look at that, a damage dealing frame at #6,

while vauban prime at #46, which is a non-damage dealing (lets just sayhe doesn cc frame with lots of utility, no? (i didnt say "great utility", but "lots of utility" instead)

but honestly i couldnt even see nonprime vauban since she never scrolled that far down.

i think it's way more of a simple power question. "how good is the frame at what it's supposed to do (and extras), and how much do players want that ability in the current state of the game (state of the game in that MR rank)? And how much MORE can that frame do?"  instead of "damageframes bad, utility good". (Also availability of said frame is very important, especially in lower MR ranks)

as another example, volt. he's at #5 and #8, which combined is a huge part of the total usage amount even tho you never need more then 1 in a party since his main use is just to speed things up. But in every level of warframe play, running to the objective is a big part of the gameplay of most missiontypes so he sees great usage in every MR rank and often times when you do lower level content you might not switch to a better suited frame for the mission types simply because he's almost always usefull anyway.

  17. i whouldve never thought of saying anything like this, but literally the one thing i enjoy about archwing is how you jump onto enemies with your weapon equipted.

sure, the wet-noodle slapping that ensues right after that feels is extreamly unrewarding, but that instant jump feels amazing and im missing anything like that in melee (yes, ash has that but thats one frame out of how many that want to use melee?)

  18. 4 hours ago, mrbubblepants said:

Only issue with that is it would negatively affect people with unreliable internet service and they would be flagged for something they cant control. Granted a small percentage of the overall population, but i dont believe we should sacrifice the few for the many so to speak.

that whould just mean that those flagged players whouldnt host. the lower your score, the less likely you're going to be to be selected as host in a 4 man public party.

this isnt a discussion wether or not people with bad ping should be able to play multiplayer, they are still going to be able to participate normally. this is a discussion about wether or not warframe should grant host to someone who is better suited to do so, which even many people with absolute garbage tier connections whould love to have, because let me tell you: people with bad ping dont like being called out every-single-time they play and are forced to host making everyonebody elses enjoyment of the game worse.

People with amazing internet connections (like i am currently happy to be able to enjoy) and people with really bad connections (like some of my friends) whould profit from this equally.

as far as im aware, we are posting in the general subforum of the feedback subforum, ( https://forums.warframe.com/forum/21-general/ ) which is exactly where this should go, right?

this isnt community->general discussion, or are you the one who is in the wrong subforum? https://forums.warframe.com/forum/36-general-discussion/ this is general discussion.
