    Just wanted to say, this is NOT truth. Fact of the matter is, Excal P and Excal Umbra are the same, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF UMBRA POLARITIES. Now, that being said, Excal P has more flexibility in builds, since he does not have 3 Umbra slots that if you forma away, you cannot get back. Yes, Umbra does some builds better than Excal P, but some builds will not fit in Umbra without sacrificing an Umbra polarity slot or two. One of my favorite survival style builds will not fit in Umbra cause of the polarities... But that is what Excal P is for: more tailored builds like that one.

    Can't run my primed flow quick thinking survival build on umbra. Too many slots for taking umbra's one advantage: the umbra mods. Yeah, a power strength build with vitality and steel fiber excal prime loses to umbra with umbra mods. Hands down. OTOH, excal prime has build flexibility, and my standard onslaught build uses vitality, primed flow, quick thinking, the hunter version of rage, max eff (streamline + fleeting expertise one pip from the top), primed continuity, and chromatic blade... You can't run a build like that on umbra. The umbra slots get in the way. BTW, it's a really fun build, especially with lifestrike and never dying. Sure you do less damage, but never dying is better than dying.

    Yeah I remember you. there were like 15 founders that spammed the forums each hour with posts against excal umbra or demanding some type of recompensation for its release, and you were one of them.

    Some of you even threatened DE with sueing them for releasing umbra, since it renders excal prime frame fashion uniqueness well, not unique anymore.

    Hmm, back on the topic: It has a pretty large quest requirement and also equipment requirement if you want to do it without a headache. I've been waiting and fighting for this frame since it was released on china (3 years now, more or less) so it's a relieve to get him almost immediatly.

    Also, back then most founders were even MORE salty. They aren't so salty anymore since they lost that fight though.

    Anyways, I'm out, going to enjoy my beautiful Excalibur Umbra with my Radial Howl, Sentient and Specter Passive, its unique polarization and unique, maxed mods and of course, its SCARF ❤️

    Well, thank God I took a forum/warframe break for the last few months....

    1. I personally dislike the scarf, but hey, different strokes for different folks. Glad you enjoy Umbra. I do appreciate his unique styling and some builds on him.

    2. I prefer the clean look of Excal P over Umbra. I am not a huge fan of the crescents on Umbra, but again, different strokes for different folks. Very fitting with the whole moon theme on him.

    Overall I like Umbra, and am happy EVERYONE can get him. A part of me hoped this would kill the old "founders have excal prime, we want excal prime and hate founders by extension of them having him" but in actuality, it seems to have not. Now it's just a pissing match... "Umbra is better than Excal Prime! Take that founders, you salty bastards!". Why is there such animosity here, on the forums, towards founders? Why does it continue? What is the point of it? Why is 'every founder salty about umbra' the common response to any founder? I am happy to have Umbra, and happy non-founders have him. I really liked the quest to get him. It was interesting and well done.

    Umbra is better at some things compared to Excal Prime, but he cannot run some builds I have on Excal P due to mod polarities and needing to kill Umbra slots to fit that build in. That seems silly to me cause it's his uniqueness: having umbra slots. So I run both depending on the build I want, and what I am doing. Both are different enough to have different builds that are effective.

    I love how everyone assumes founders hate Umbra.... I'm a founder, and I like Umbra. He is basically another Excal Prime that I can pigeon hole into certain builds I do like on Excal P, and do them better than Excal P. So nice try, but Umbra is fine with me, and I am happy you have him, just like everyone else in the game!

    K. Actually, I was curious and not 'attacking your character'. I have literally delt with a person who exhibits similar traits when arguing that does have a personality disorder. It's maddeningly frustrating to have circular arguments and yet I keep seeing you doing it to this other guy. Reminds me a lot like that person I know... And any civil discussion that doesn't go immediately her way devolves into this giant circle where everything but the original point is argued about, and eventually it comes right back to the topic, which is then sent into a spiral into everything else.

     

    The whole purpose of it is to wear down the 'opponent' and get them to capulate. To confuse the original point until you are right. That is what I am seeing here, and I am out. You tried it with me, and you are doing it with this other person. I asked cause I was curious, not because I wanted to out you or defame your character.

     

    Either way, I am out, this topic is getting silly, and I have already contributed my peace to it. In the words of Douglas Adams: So long and thanks for all the fish!

    I dont mind Umbra NOT being able to wear the Excal P skin. It's fine, and they are both built differently for me. I'll probably use Excal P for practically everything like I already do. First prime = best frame, even when he had super jump 😄

    The point of the thread though is that Umbra's scarf is not removable, even on any other Skin you've bought.  You know that awesome Proto Deluxe Skin that has half of Excalibur's chest in silver metal?  Not on Umbra.  On Umbra, you've got an ugly solid color chest piece sitting on top of the Metal.  

    I hear you on both your edit, and this. I actually would like to be able to toggle those things on or off. While we are at it, DE, can the immortal skins get toggles too? Like the tennogen ones?

    I was just having a bit of fun with an 'overreaction' to the idea of selling Excal P. 🙂

    What in the.... Are you smoking something? SELL Excal Prime?! Never. Not even if they gave Umbra the ability to wear the Excal P skin and helm. Nope. I wouldn't care if Excal P was put down (stats wise) to regular Excal, I still wouldn't sell him.
