Rebecca:
Can ya like, let em know? The devs? This hurts us core farmers bad :(

I got the same problem in my thread here as well. Keep posting on any of these threads reporting this issue guys, should hopefully attract the devs' attention.
I actually like the update in its entirety, except for this one little bug preventing us from ranking up our mods as quickly as we would like to (which, by the way, is still not really that quick). I hugely appreciate getting the chance to have 5 fusion cores dropping.
A "workaround" for now would be to solo Hieracon as Frost or Vauban or whatever, and extract after 200 cryotic. If you get a drop you will almost always leave with at least 5 R5 cores each time, taking you less than 5 mins.

I had this exact same problem, I dont know why DE haven't paid attention to it.
I do hope they will fix it, understandably there are other things in need of hotfixing that are a little more gamebreaking.
Alas, this bug is still slightly gamebreaking and does need to be fixed.

Doesn't really seem like a priority bug, and it seems like you are supposed to receive only one.
Why do people think this? It pains me.
5packs of R5 drop on high level Excav missions in rotation A, such as Hieracon, and have roughly a 25% chance to drop.
This has always been the case.
Now it is bugged, and must be addressed and fixed.

Was this also Hieracon yeah?
As a side note, I tested ODS for relics as well and thought I'd check how many cores I got too. I got two drops of 3 packs, picked up 2 R5 cores as well, equating to what I thought would be 8 cores. But of course what actually happened was I got one 3 pack, and 2 pickups, ending the game with 5 R5 cores instead.
Something is very wrong here

@DE.Rebecca Really nice hotfix actually, I like all the fixes etc. However I am still a bit concerned that you guys haven't fixed the Excav R5 5-pack drops not giving 5-packs after the first pack of 5 drops :(

I at least hope they address the issue since this thread is getting more attention now.

It's not about the difficulty. Why do people always miss that point? It's a huge hassle that detracts from doing what I want to be doing, and that I (as a player) am more than capable of doing. It's a pointless time sink. I want to emphasize the pointless part of that--not the time sink. If there were a real reason I would want to be doing it--and I can't even think of one that would make me want to complete the entire star chart--the time aspect of that argument would go away, but there isn't.
Agreed. With all due respect to the devs, I think they're under this impression that every single node in their star chart is actually fun to play to an extent -- this is what I'm gathering from this update anyway with the addition of junctions, and removal of missions we all used as "loot caves." But I do not find playing boring, meaningless missions only to finally do something that I want to do. Don't get me wrong, thats usually the case with most games anyway, you work towards something, but usually games have a baseline of "fun" to make sure you don't drift off to sleep whilst playing it (yes, this game bores me enough sometimes to put me to sleep).
Hell, they've even nerfed credit rewards. No longer can you do Sechura with Chroma and expect 35k (70k~ boosted) credits every time you do 5 waves. Credits aren't a problem for me at the moment but think about it, if any of us decide to buy a primed mod then we will need to pay that 1million credit fee, and any hope of you getting it from Baro is diminished because of the difficulty in farming ducats now.
What mildly disturbs me is that all of this was intended by DE. I like how the start chart looks, but from a user experience point of view the guys using controllers are right and it is unnecessarily difficult to navigate the UI. I would like to know what the devs envisaged the game to become before this update, because if this is what they want it to be now, then they should take a few steps back, stop hammering the nail into the coffin, and open their eyes to the simple fact that this update has ruined more than it has achieved.

its not bug , its suposed to be this way , if your upset just do sorties , I personaly most of the time get 25 cores
Its not supposed to be this way. Please pay attention to the fact that the game says you are being awarded 5packs every time it drops. I would be extremely annoyed if DE have nerfed r5 drops because its already extremely hard anyway. It's a bug and it needs to be fixed.

Seems there are alot of problems with core drops since the patch.
For example, if you do Hieracon for at least 600 cryotic and hope you get more than 1 R5 Core drop, the first drop will give you 5 but any drops afterwards will only give you one R5 core. Theres a thread here and another here about the exact same issue. Please make the devs aware of this!
-
Yay, finally, someone else who actually noticed this. Please bump up my original thread if you dont mind. I got 4 drops and got 8 cores, just finished a mission there with 2 drops and 6 cores:
Hope more people address this issue!

Yesterday, I played a couple rounds of Hieracon, both to 1800 cryotic. On the first one I got four drops of R5 5 packs, which I was pleased with. I then get to extract, and to my surprise the mission summary shows that I only ended the game with a total of 8 R5 cores -- instead of at least 20.
I decided to test this again, and on my second run I got two drops of R5 fusion cores. So, I extract again, expecting to have 10 R5 cores, but instead I am awarded with 6.
I will upload screenshots later and possibly a video of me reproducing this potentially game-breaking bug but I am on my phone just now. It appears that the first drop of R5 cores you get will be a 5 pack, and any after that will only drop one single R5 fusion core, despite it saying 5 on the top left of the mod card on the bottom left of the screen
Hope this gets looked into cause I got some mods to level up!
ABOVE: 2x R5 5 pack drops, instead getting 1x 5-Pack plus one single R5 core.

Yay, sort of knew they would eventually fix 5 packs. Nice hotfix guys.
Faith in core farming restored.
