Earth: red smoke severe FPS drop down to less then 5

My FPS is usually about 60-87 fps. Go up close to this red smoke from some plants, have severely dropped my FPS down to less then 5, until I look away or go away.

The game's FPS counter at bottom left is completely wrong, while the Steam's FPS counter at top left correctly show FPS down to as low as 4 fps.

Windows 10 64 bit, intel i7 2600 16GB, Nvidia Gt 1030 GDDR5 2GB, 1280x960

Hi sam686,

Thank you for the video! We will take a look at these particles on our end and see if there is anything we can do to improve them.
In the meantime, can you please verify your download cache in the Warframe launcher? This is just so we can rule out the performance issue as being the result of some sort of corrupt particle system.

Verified download cache, took about 2 minutes, game and operating system is on Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB, and my task manager network usage stays zero when it is done verifying and is ready to play, so I guess the problem is not my downloads.
