Strun Wraith Nerf

Haven't really played with strun wraith after the nerf, is it still good with the lower crit chance?

Yes, i would say so. It still crits fairly often, and with a crit damage mod on it works wonders. Although its still not the best weapon, it does work well.

Yeah, I'd say it's in a pretty good place now. It might not spew yellow numbers every shot, but it's still a crit beast. With a crit+ mod you'll be doing plenty.

I wouldn't say no to a future gun (Tenno double barrel perhaps) with a lower base damage but with the 50% crit.

A guy on a different forum post calculated the highest dmg that the straith can dish out. It's just below 10000 dmg

It's still easily the best shotgun in the game for close range, although its damage falloff is quite harsh, so the Sobek is still recommended if you prefer mid-range combat.

 

Even after the nerf, its crit chance is nothing to sniff at. It's by far the highest of any shotgun in the game, and still quite high compared to most other weapons in the game. Hell, the crit chance and damage are on par with Dread, a weapon famed for the fact that crit builds can be utilized very well.

The only thing stopping Straith from being a crit god is the fact that Shotgun crit mods aren't as strong as Rifle crit mods.

Yes it is still a decent weapon, no snipertron vandal, but still a good reward for the event. And like every weapon with normal bullets it has big truble against high armour..

Wraith is more than good with 20% chance of a critical. I already forma the gun once and my fear is that people will cry until it is nerfed and I have to go back to using my secondary weapons again. >.>

It's not in any danger of being nerfed any more imho, it's not like it holds a candle to the "endgame" weapons<br /><br />unless they accidentally make bullet weapons even worse when they revamp damage type mechanics, but that'd be hard..

20% is still on par with bows and vandaltron...

 

it has 40% more dmg than Sobek/Hek, 10 times their critical chance, 25-50% more crit dmg and reloads in 1.5 secs...

 

Strun Wraith > Sobek > Hek in sustained DPS

Strun Wraith > Hek > Sobek in burst DPS
