Tranq Rifle for Capture Missions?

Recommended Posts

With the Lotus so Insistent that we need to Capture the VIP alive.

Seems kinda dumb that we riddle them with Lethal bullets and have to patch them up before they bleed out.

Especially given we have a Tranquilizer Rifle.

Suppose, we Tranq them instead, with no bleed out risk. And as a bonus you can let them lie there and farm all their buddies who run to help.

The tranq rifle has issues just going through the most basic animal scales.

Hard to say how many rounds you'd need to shove in the capture target's face before you even manage to go through armoured plates or shields.
To be noted they're immune to sleeping abilities as well (Most likely for balance reason), but I dare say they probably have items to work against fatigue and tranquilizers as they are "High importance targets on the run" and can't allow themselves to be captured.

Going full lethal does sounds over-kill, but it kinda works?
Ordis/Lotus probably has the technology to stabilize him after being captured and I feel that this works much better as compared to risking the entire mission/intel gathering process over single shots tranquilizers.

My theory is that the difference lies with how they arrive, with capture targets disappearing like synthesized targets, versus rescue targets needing to be manually escorted. Given the number of quips we heard from Simaris over the years, there is likely some unpleasant feature of Synthesis. Something we certainly wouldn't mind on our enemies, but our friends?

It would help explain where the Lotus keeps all the Capture Targets we brought in over the years.

It should be noted that the toxicity of a chemical is "independent" of the chemical itself; the dosage also matters.

This also has bothered me regarding Rescue and Defection missions

why dont't we just put them in our bag of holding like we do with Capture targets?

Nice and safe that way.

It worked with Maroo, no problems. I believe the ingame quote when capturing her was 'That tickles!'
