(PSN)bearded_brigand
I haven't played Warframe for a couple of months and I started playing again last night and can't seem to equip my melee weapon Silva and Aegis while in battle. I cant hold down triangle to switch to it, it just goes between primary and secondary weapons. Am I missing something here?

Little bit, yeah 😛 https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1073844-ps4-buried-debts-update-2450-equinox-prime-hotfixes/ Scroll down to " MELEE REVISIT: PHASE 1 " for an overview of what's going on there. But in short, there's no more hold for Melee mode, just press your (previously Quick) Melee button, done.
(PSN)theMycon
Just attack with it (circle). "Quick melee" is no longer a thing. We're in Phase 1 of the melee redesign (AKA "Melee 2.9"), so they're trying new things as to make weapon swapping smoother. Now simply attacking with a melee weapon will equip iit and R2 will always shoot the last gun you used and equip that. Triangle always changes the equipped gun. Blocking is (sorta) automatic now, if you have a melee weapon out and enemies are shooting at you in a 45 degree cone in front, it will start blocking. You can still manually block if you only have a melee weapon in your load out. You can fire a gun/ability in the middle of a combo and (usually) go right back to it, if you and the gun are quick enough. The most fun part is aimed ground slams. Try bullet jumping as high as you can, then quickly aiming sorta-down and attacking. It's hilarious and a quick way to travel when there's no ceiling holding you back. For combos, L2 (when in the middle of melee attacks) has replaced block. Using L2 when you're not in the middle of melee attacking/blocking will usually switch to your gun & zoom in. Theoretically this should make people need to learn stances & their combos, but in practice mashing quick melee as fast as you can while holding L2 works more reliably. If you ever use channelling, it defaults L3 (pressing in the left stick).
