Lich Integration (beyond railjack crew)

Here are a few suggestions that I think would improve the Kuva Lich hunting experience

1. Mission integration

Rather than having the liches control specific sets of nodes, put the lich in control of a whole planet at a time; allowing the lich (and thralls) to invade any mission done on that planet regardless of mission type. Invasions. Sorties. Kuva Siphons. Fissures. Plains/Vallis Bounties. Syndicate Missions. This way we arent having to choose entirely between in game goals and our liches.

2. Improved turn-over rate.

Cutting the murmur grind required to reveal a requiem mod in half would do wonders for the lich experience. Alternatively, keeping the grind but revealing exactly which position in the requiem order to equip the mods in would also improve the experience. Both would just be... uguu.

Perhaps adding in a weakness to specific weapons that not only affects the Lich but enemies in their territory as well. Would help justify owning tons of random weapons.

3. Lich Specters

The Crimson king blades chin courier ... Branch.. yeah.. Crimson Branch.

The crimson branch could use some love, by way of a beacon OR TWO.

Crimson Beacon 1) research that once finished allows you to replicate a single use Lich Beacon blueprint. Summons an enemy Lich. For use when youve revealed all 3 requiems. Used to speed up the 'wait' to summon for the final kill. High crafting cost to balance utility, takes 600 [kuva] (one unboosted non-flood siphon's worth) and a requiem relic.

Lich Beacon 2) research that once finished allows you to craft a beacon used to summon a Converted Lich. You choose which Lich is summoned in crafting (same way you pick which lex you wanna use when making aklex etc)

4. Lich Buffs

Liches need buffs. We can all agree on this. But, Other than damage output buffs a few things that would make Liches much cooler (and useful) are:

Lich duration is an amount multiplied by your Mastery Rank. i.e. 1 minute per mastery rank.

Liches should be able to use the abilities they use against us when we're hunting them.

Liches should be able to spawn a certain number of 'thralls' based on mastery rank. i.e. can spawn 1 thrall for every few mastery ranks. thralls would leave when the lich leaves.

5. Lastly, Bonus Ability

Liches should have a bonus ability that they're born with that they can use 1 time upon being summoned. The ability lasts for the duration of time that the lich is present. The ability would affect anyone within range of the Lich. Could be crit, multishot, attackspeed, fire rate, dmg reduction, movement speed, resource pickup, affinity.. basically anything good. lmao. Or it could be like 'trigger x effect every time shields are depleted' and 'trigger x effect when health or energy reaches below a %'  or 'trigger x effect every 20 kills'

While sure, that might be a bit op.. as well as make trade chat even wilder than it was when liches first came out... It would lend a sort of 'real bonus' to players who actually invest in farming up lots o liches, as well as for having a high mastery rank (of which there isnt really anything currently that lets you FEEL your mastery rank)

I suggested something similar to Number 1 last night so I'll just repost it here.

Instead of having Lich progress be tied to Lich territory in a more or less separate part of the Starchart, instead tie Lich progress into the mainline starchart as secondary or side objectives. This way a player can reap the benefits of both a regular mission and do Lich content at once.

Examples:

  • Thrall Deathsquad (Any Exterminate, Survival, Defense, or any Corpus Ship tileset mission): There's a deathsquad of your Lich's thralls that are in the vicinity, there's a marked tile on your HUD that will let you bait out the thralls to gain murmur progress. For terrain missions or Grineer galleon missions, this would be a locked tile marked on the hud that when opened, causes several thralls to spawn. For Corpus Ship missions, this instead would be a marked wall that when activated, would cause a Grineer boarding pod to crash in with several thralls at the location. Because Thralls being on a Corpus ship filled with Corpus would be weird.
  • Sabotage Machinery (any mission): There's a hidden Lich outpost in the vicinity, find and destroy. Another marked tile, but reusing sabotage assets. The tile is marked off with a forcefield that only a Parazon can remove, and inside that tile is a piece of Grineer machinery to destroy and several thralls in order to raise Lich anger.
  • Hidden Vault (any mission): A hidden lich spy vault is in the area, hack it and retrieve some of your stolen items. Pretty much another forcefield protected area, hack with Parazon, break into the vault, make it out with some of your stolen items and raise lich anger.
  • Intercepted Data (mobile defense): There's a system in the area that contains some data on your Lich, retrieve it. Basically a fourth mobile defense system that when raided, and being protected by thralls, provides murmur progress or lich anger.

The overall idea is to reuse part of the base gameplay, but allow the player to take out lich territory on the starchart without separating them from the rest of the game, so these could be completed during void fissures or such. Completing these side objectives would also remove the lich's influence on that node, like completing a lich mission does currently. In addition to making lich missions something other than five exterminates, one excavation, etc.

The current lich missions are useful for speedrunning liches, so I would like to see those to remain, but since they're no longer the only place to acquire lich progress, allow more varied gameplay in them than just "random grineer faction on tileset, exterminate mission." Providing the opportunity to make the territory missions better.

TLDR: Incorporate Liches into base starchart instead of separate starchart.
