Bramma explosions cause a brief FPS nosedive if they're too close

When the detonation happens near me, my FPS briefly drops very sharply. It doesn't freeze but it definitely goes down a lot, not sure about exact amounts but I'm pretty sure it's around 30 or so. This is usually when the Bramma has multishot, but I'm not certain. I don't have deferred rendering on, either. My effects intensity is at 68 and my GPU Particles are set to Low, because I got sick of visual clutter all over the place. As I don't have the weapon myself I can't do any testing, I can only experience it when someone runs it in a mission, but there's definitely an issue there when the rest of the game runs perfectly fine.

If I can get one myself I'll try and get more information.
