Snartleflush Posted March 27, 2020 Share Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) There re many issues with the codex, I'm going to hit as many as I can: There are many discrepancies between codex entries, simulacrum enemies, profile scans, and things that are actually scannable. The codex/simulacrum show silhouettes for enemies that are no longer in the game, Spoiler J3 golem, artificier, datalyst, misery, carabus, nightwatch carrier, nightwatch reaver, saturn six fugitive, infested tumor (object from removed JV raid) The codex shows silhouettes for enemies that are broken or unscannable, Spoiler vapos condor dropship, vapos elite condor dropship, a mysterious shield dargyn entry in the corpus section The codex has (sometimes hidden) entries for enemies that can only be encountered once some of these have workarounds, but they are impossible solo Spoiler Tomb guardian, Tomb protector, tomb protector effigy, classic stalker, Some enemies can be scanned, but have no codex entry Spoiler sentient ramsleds, all the new sentient boarding crews, Edited March 28, 2020 by Snartleflush 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sam686 Posted April 16, 2020 Share Posted April 16, 2020 Some of unscannable codex can have a possible fix by simply allow quest to be replayed or repeated. Tomb guardian scans requires Sands of inaros quest. Cannot repeat/replay this quest, and cannot join others doing this quest as this requires Sacred Vessel in gear wheel which I somehow do no have with the quest completed only 1 time. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I left off items that are scannable but have no codex entry because there are just so many-- the rare crate in the octavia lua puzzle some MD consoles the scarlet spear satellite has 2x versions, one while deployed and one while attached to ship hijack targets can be scanned by helios but have no entry, etc Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The original intention for the codex was to be a kind of in-game wiki, and keeping the legacy stuff was sort of a part of that. I guess for players who did take the time to scan older enemy types before they got patched out might like to keep them for... nostalgia? I do tend to agree though. If you haven't scanned something and there is no longer a way to do so, it'd be nice if it didn't clog up your codex with an eternally empty silhouette. Seems like that should be possible.
